Abby – 12 month old female American Bulldog cross Boxer

Abby is an American Bulldog cross Boxer girl who came to us on the 5th August, she was found as a stray and served her 7 days at the pound before coming to us. She is only a baby and about 12 months old. Abby is terrified of the world at the moment. She is scared of every noise and movement and has obviously had an isolated and scary life up to now. She is petrified of people and will do anything she can to get away from you. When Abby first arrived, she spent the first day hiding behind a tree in the corner of the garden, no-one could get near her so she was left to settle and come to us when she was ready. Abby met the dogs not long after and was like a different dog.

She came over to them and followed them round the garden, but as soon as she seen people she was back into hiding. Despite being terrified, Abby is a very placid girl and has shown absolutely zero signs of aggression, not even a growl or a hackle raised out of fear. She is obviously going to be a very loving gentle giant once she has learn to trust again. Abby is going to need a lot of time and patience to help bring her character out and to gain her trust. Abby would benefit from another dog(s) in the house to help her learn. Abby cannot go for walks, as you cannot get a lead on her anyway. She is far too scared of new surroundings and deffinately CANNOT be let offlead! Abby needs an adult only home with someone who is going to be dedicated to rehabilitating her and gaining her trust. She is not a dog that is going to enjoy cuddles and fuss (just yet anyway!)
