Alfie 2 is a small, short-coated Podenco cross male. He would make an absolutely fantastic family dog and adores people, children, other dogs, and cats. He is extremely well behaved, both in the house and outside: walking nicely on the lead and travelling well in the car. Poor Alfie was abandoned in Spain, when his owners decided a puppy was too much like hard work and left him at the rescue. He was originally fostered by an older lady, in Spain, but has now made his move to the UK, where he is being fostered by a family with children, dogs and cats. Current location is in a foster home Clophill, Bedfordshire.
Fosterer’s Update: Alfie has been with us for nearly three weeks now and I cannot sing the praises of this pint-sized piece of perfection enough. He is a genuinely lovely dog: great with us, great with our kids, great with our dogs and great with our cats! I realise that’s a lot of greats, but he really deserves them all! He is beautifully mannered, very responsive and intelligent, wonderfully affectionate and a whole heap of wiggly fun. He is going to make someone extremely happy. I suspect that his ideal home will have other dogs, because he really does like to snuggle up to furry friends, especially at night or when his human family is out. I don’t think he’d mind a cat or two either!
He lets our ancient cat wash him and, this morning, I found the two of them sitting together in a patch of sun! I’ve met a LOT of dogs over the past twenty years and I have to say that he is one of the nicest – he has such a huge heart and really is a very special, little fellow! Vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, neutered, microchipped and has a Pet Passport.
Adoption Fee : £265 – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs.
