Alfie is a beautiful loving little boy. He is just over a year old now and still has many puppy traits. He likes to chew things and loves a stick or a bone and although he does know not to chew furniture he does like to play with a cushion. He does still puppy nip but it has been getting better. He is very playful and eager to learn and responds well to clicker training and treats. He knows to sit and stay and to lie down and is fully house trained. I have found that he has been more than happy to be left for up to three hours but he has had the company of a very dominant terrier.
He loves to explore and is very inquisitive and walks well on a lead. His recall is getting better but sometimes he has selective hearing especially if he has seen something interesting. He gets on with other dogs and loves to have a good sniff and a little play whenever he can. He does have a tendency to want to chase after small feathered and furry things especially cats and therefore must live in a cat free zone. At the end of a busy day playing and exploring he loves nothing more that curling up on the sofa for a hug and a tummy tickle.
As he is a bright and intelligent boy he will make a fantastic agility dog and would be an amazing boy for someone who is able to spend the time keeping him mentally challenged. He will benefit from an older dog to continue to teach him and play with him.
