Alfie is a 9 year old male Lhasa Apso cross Jack Russell Terrier. Adorable Alfie is looking for a new home as he has become unsettled after the arrival of a new baby. He has been in the same home since he was a puppy but his family feel he would be much happier in a home without children, with someone who can dedicate more time to him. Alfie has not shown any aggression towards the new baby, however he has since become quite anxious and withdrawn. He is now more alert to noises and is starting to be protective of the baby, becoming stressed when people or animals try to approach her.
Alfie was used to sleeping upstairs with his owner but since the arrival of the baby he is now sleeping downstairs on his own. There has been a lot of change in his routine and it is understandable that he is now becoming quite upset. He is such a lovely, laid back boy who mixes well with other dogs and could share his new home with another dog. However he will chase cats. He would benefit from a home with someone around for most of the day to help him settle in. Once settled he should be fine to be left alone for a couple of hours. He is housetrained and travels well in the car.
Alfie is in good he alth but does suffer with a yeast infection, which has flared up since the arrival of the baby. He is currently on medication to help with this. Sometimes the skin around his eyes can be affected by this and he will require eye-drops but does not need them at the moment. He will also need a hypo-allergenic diet. Our vet will be able to give more advice on this should you wish to adopt Alfie. His new owner must be able to manage his condition and be financially able to do so should he require long term treatment.
