Alfie is a 5 1/2 year old English Cocker Spaniel. So what can I say about our Alfie? He’s so very gorgeous and fluffy and he does the best excited dance when you come in. He loves cuddles but on his terms and when he wants too – the best ones are first thing in a morning when he dives on me in bed. He’s fantastic to walk both on and off the lead – a real pleasure of a walk. He’s fine with other dogs he comes across when off the lead but growls if he’s on the lead and they are too bouncy for him.
Alfie needs someone experienced who has lots of patience, time and love. He’s had a lot of homes in the past year which has made him scared which he will show as aggression – growling, snarling and he has bitten. He needs a place that’s his own away from everyone else where he can retreat to in those moments. We have a large cage with his bed in and at first he spent a lot of time in there but over the weeks he’s been joining us in the lounge more and more. He is my shadow – I give him lots of praise when he doesn’t growl and lots of reassurance all the time. I’m rewarded with a very loving Alfie. He’s loved by all of us – hubby and the kids (shouldn’t call them that at 18 and 20) but he’s not keen on younger children.
Alfie needs a very experienced, quiet home with no children and he would be best as an only dog. Not cat tested. He is in foster in Bedford and he is neutered, chipped, vaccinated, wormed and flead. Adoption is subject to meet and greet, homecheck and adoption donation of £200.
