Alfie – 21 month old male Yorkshire Terrier
Alfie is an adorable 21 month old Yorkshire Terrier boy who will be 2 years old on 26th June. Alfie came to Animal Aid after one of our dog walkers had spotted him roaming the streets. After following Alfie to a nearby house we realised that he did have an owner.
His owner had told us that she often let Alfie ‘walk himself’ during the day. After speaking with her further she told us that her son was allergic to Alfie and she did need to find him a new home. Alfie has been described as a very outgoing little boy who often enjoys playing with other dogs, especially the bigger ones!
Unfortunately Alfie is not housetrained and will need some patience with this. His previous owner describes him as being a very good house dog, and like many terriers will bark when there is a knock at the front door. Alfie really enjoys being out and about and does not like being left alone of a night.
We where told Alfie gets a hot spot on his neck, and sometimes paws during the summer. His previous owner treated this with ‘Piriton’. Alfie is a little shy and will not let you pick him up until he trusts you, this usually doesn’t take very long!
Overall a delightful little chap. Alfie is neutered but will restart his vaccinations and also be microchipped as part of the Animal Aid policy. An Adoption Fee and Homecheck will be required.
