My name is Amber and I am a lovable, bouncy and I am a TT (Typical Terrier). Despite a rotten start to life I am quick to love and an absolute delight to be around. As a TT I will rag my toys but not in a destructive way and once I have tired myself out I will curl up on the nearest empty lap. Although I am cautious around new people I soon learn to trust and strangers become friends faster than you can say “Jack Russell”. I love attention and I am a cheeky little girl who you cannot help but love. I came into rescue under sad circumstances. I had been attacked by other dogs in my previous home which has left scaring on my back and to top it all I was then in a house fire. Taking this into consideration I am still a TT and need a TT savvy home. I can be a little bit wary when I first meet people and I will grumble a bit but once we have made friends we will be fine. I love all adults and children but small children may frighten me.
I am a typical Terrier. What can I say? I will play with any dog that wants to play with me but I like to be boss and can pick on older, weaker dogs. I am not keen on cats or other small animals. I do not show aggression towards them but will chase and bark at them. I have been left in a crate and with the crate door open albeit with other dogs for company. I may protest for a short time but will soon settle down. I am housetrained. I can be a little bossy over my toys and, given the slightest opportunity, I will make a bid for freedom so my garden needs to be secure. Loud noises are a worry for me and I will attack the vacuum cleaner! I am not keen on car travel (I get car sick) and am a bit wary of the vet as he tends to stick needles in me. I walk on a lead and I am being trained not to pull. An active home with plenty going on and lots of exercise. I am a young 2 year old who does need a lot of reassurance and cuddles. Older children who can occupy me would be preferred.
Amber will be chipped, vaccinated and am up to date with her flea and worming treatment. She may not be neutered as she only recently had a season and the vets would like to wait 3 months before neutering. She will come with a neutering contract and a £50 refund voucher for when she is neutered. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Cheltenham, Glous.
If you are interested in adopting Amber please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form ( link here ) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
