Amber – 12 year old female Lurcher

Amber is a 12 year old female Lurcher. Amber is a fawn cross older lady who is gentle and loving to her elderly owner and she likes other larger dogs. She loves the sofa as you would expect and despite her age is in very good bodily condition and in good health and very fit. Amber is currently living with a husky boy happily but she’s not keen on small dogs and she hates cats! Ss do most Lurchers and she will chase squirrels! She is house trained, and can be left for reasonable periods quite happily, however she is used to being with someone all day, every day so we wouldn’t rehome her to someone at work in the daytime, as is our usual policy. Amber is waiting for her new home due to her elderly owner being taken into hospital.

We have not been advised if she is okay with children, but we think its best she has a quiet home and with children. Shes getting on a bit now and really just needs the quiet life, she does still have a mad run around the garden and enjoys a morning walk but doesn’t like going out at night. She’s a lovely natured dog and very content to sit around the house now in her twilight years.

Fosterer’s report: Super girl ! She’s sometimes a little stiff if she’s been lay down for a while but all part of old age but in general great health and her weight is as it should be. We took her to vet last week so she’s been checked over and given her booster and we have her record card from vets too with history. We think she’d suit a retired person who can walk her once a day. She doesn’t like being left for long periods as you would expect, but we think more because she’s always had someone around with her. We understand the dog went everywhere with the owner even to the shops and hairdressers.
