Amber – 10 year old female Greyhound
Amber is a light fawn Greyhound lady who is 10 years young. Dear Amber has had a long life in kennels, and REALLY deserves a soft sofa to retire to. Her coat is rather lack lustre at the minute, but with good food and lots of TLC this will improve. She is a bit stiff after her walks so she will need exercise little and often to help gain some mobility back in her joints.
This gorgeous old girl has very few needs – just a soft bed, some food and TLC and she’s in seventh heaven. She adores any attention given to her, and soaks it up with a happy greyhound smile. She would do best in a quiet household with perhaps an older dog for company. Really all Amber wants is a soft, warm bed to curl up and nap in after a little amble around the block.
*Update*
Amber is now settled nicely in her foster home, and is starting to come out of her shell a bit more. She is a sweet, friendly girl who can be a little timid with strangers but soon comes around once she knows you.
Amber’s back legs are still quite weak, most likely from years of minimal exercise as she was used as a breeding bitch. She is having regular, twice daily walks now and it is slowly starting to make a difference. She walks perfectly on the lead, you dont even know shes there.
Sweet Amber is currently living with small terriers and gets on fine with them. We feel she would do best in a quiet home with an older dog for company as a younger puppyish dog would be far too bouncy for her. She is not cat friendly.
This lovely old girl really deserves a place to call hers now, and will be a very low maintanence but loving addition to the right family.
Amber is currently in a foster home in Ireland where she is experiencing the joys of home comforts for the first time in her life. She can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up and this will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds. We ask only for a donation to help cover costs. She will be given a full veterinary health check, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. She has not been tested with cats or small dogs yet, but these can be carried out prior to adoption if necessary.
