Amelie – 5 month old female English Bull Terrier Cross

Hello, my name is Amelie, I am a 5 month old female English Bull Terrier crossbreed. I was half starved when I arrived at the Mayhew as I had been abandoned and left to fend for myself as a tiny puppy. I am now in a foster home and despite my tough start in life, I am good around food and not at all snatchy with treats. I am living happily with two fully grown Staffordshire Bull terriers and I love playing with them. As I am a typical lively puppy, I can get a bit boisterous at times but I have learnt to listen when my older doggy housemates tell me they have had enough. I also love to go for my daily off lead walks with them and my foster mum says that I am good on the lead.

I am a smart girl and it hasn’t taken me long to learn that when one of my foster family points and says sit, my bottom has to hit the floor double quick if I want a yummy treat. I am also completely housetrained and have only had one accident all the time I have been here. I now go to the back door when I want to go out. I am a friendly pup and I love to snuggle up with the family on the sofa and have my belly rubbed but I am not needy and annoying. In fact I’m quite independent, which is why I love to be out and about. I settle down quietly in the kitchen at night and am also learning to spend time on my own without getting into any mischief.

I am looking for a new forever home with someone who will make sure I get two gentle, thirty-minute, off lead walks a day whilst I’m still young, building up to a minimum of one to two hours, off lead exercise once I’m fully grown. My new guardians will have owned a bullbreeds or have fully researched my breed type. They should also be prepared to continue to socialise me with other dogs and take me to puppy training classes. I could happily live with children but not babies or toddlers because I am still young and can be quite boisterous. Although I might benefit from being the only dog in the house for training purposes, I could also live with another dog, providing they were older and a good role model for me. My foster mum says that I am a very lovable girl who has learnt the rules of the household very quickly and will make a great family pet. My new guardians will be taking on a fifteen year commitment which must not be taken lightly.

Hope to see you soon, Amelie
