Annie is a 1 year old female Cross-Breed. Annie is a rescue from Cyprus who is currently in Huntingdon. Through no fault of her own she needs to find a new forever home. Here is a little about her. Annie was found in a field in Cyprus when she was approximately 5 weeks old. She was with her siblings, one of whom didn’t survive. Annie flew to the UK as a puppy at 4 months old, when she went to live with her family. She has been spayed, and all her vaccinations are up to date as are all the other routine preventative treatments such as worming etc.
Annie is very energetic and highly intelligent. She absolutely loves being around other dogs and loves chasing and playing. Her current home is a busy household with three young children, which has meant her family haven’t been able to give Annie the dedicated stimulation she needs. As well as exercise, she needs the companionship of other dogs ideally. She also needs a family who can be more dedicated to her needs than they’ve been able to give her, and provide her with intellectual stimulation. For example lots of games, lots of walks and lots of reassurance. She sleeps very well at night, and her current family have her bed next to theirs in their bedroom and she snuggles down and doesn’t make a sound until they get up in the morning. We are not sure how she’d be around cats as they don’t have one. We imagine she would try to chase one at first, but would soon get used to it.
Ideally though Annie would live in a calm household without small children and she’d have another dog for company, and a family who can dedicate lots of time to her. It is possible to leave Annie for stretches of up to three hours (she sleeps in her bed in the kitchen), but then she needs companionship, game playing and cuddles upon return. She is a very intelligent dog – We think she might have some Collie in her – and is sensitive to people’s emotions and frustrations. She gets upset if the children are arguing or shouting, for example.
Annie is house trained but needs some training on the lead as she does pull. She sticks close when off lead. She loves to explore but will come back when called especially for a treat. Annie is an incredibly special, highly intelligent, highly social, sensitive and gorgeous girl. Her current family are only considering giving her up because they realise, with very heavy hearts, that they just can’t give her what she needs. She is a dog with so much love to give, she just needs a chance to show you how much she will just adore you. Annie has the potential to become your perfect family pet.
