When we have space we try and help stray dogs who are in the council pounds facing death. With the help of Homeless Hounds and a team of wonderful volunteers we have saved Aphia from such fate. Thousands of lovely healthy dogs are being euthanized in the pounds every year, if a dog is not claimed after 7 days under law they have the right to end their lives. Our branch has taken in many dogs from these situations and found them loving homes.
Aphia has been wormed/flead, micro-chipped, started vaccinations including Kennel Cough and has been health checked. Aphia came into season so we will cover the cost of spaying when she’s ready which is mandatory. Aphia has slight ear infection so is on a cleaning solution and ear drops.
Aphia has won everyone over! She is so friendly and loving with a gorgeous temperament, she knows sit, paw and will also sit on a chair on command! She’s relished all the cuddles and attention from everyone at the vets! She seems ok with other dogs but does take a slight dislike to some. She is a very friendly, fun, playful dog. She would be better with older children. Clearly she was once someone’s beloved pet, it’s so incredibly sad, if only she was microchipped her owner would have been traced.
