Ariel – 3 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Hello, my name is Ariel, I am a 3 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I was very sad when my owner died and I was brought into The Mayhew but I am now in a foster home until I can find a new forever family of my own. My foster mum and dad say that I am a very sweet, friendly girl who loves to say hello to people but I do so quietly and don’t jump up at them.

I am very gentle with children and even go on visits to the local old folks home to cheer up the residents. I also love to play with other dogs in the park and am happiest when I am racing around with a whole pack of them. I can get a bit too excited at times and forget my doggy manners but I don’t mean any harm and I do come back when called. Mind you, sometimes my hearing can be a little selective when I am playing with another dog so I am working very hard at getting my recall 100 per cent perfect. I can also pull a bit on the lead when I first get out but I soon calm down and have learnt to walk to heel.

I am very relaxed indoors. I like to check out where everybody is but then I am happy to go and lie down until it is time to have a cuddle –and I do love a cuddle! I will give you lots of doggy kisses but I am not at all demanding. I am also housetrained, quiet at night and sleep happily in my bed downstairs. I can bark for a few minutes when I’m left alone but soon settle down for a nice snooze and I am very good in the car.

I am looking for a lifetime home with people who will be prepared to give me a minimum of one to two hours off-lead exercise a day. I need owners who have either had a Staffie before or are experienced enough to understand my Staffie behaviour. They will also need to be prepared to take me to training classes to ensure that I always remember my doggy manners when playing with other dogs but don’t worry because I am a quick learner and very anxious to please. I may be better being the only dog in the house as I do love to play and play but as I am so gentle with people I could happily live with children. Still, I would need to be tested with cats as I do like to chase those pesky squirrels. My new guardians will be taking on a twelve-year commitment, which must not be taken lightly, but my foster mum says I will make a great family pet as I am very polite and really want to please you. She also says that I am the most cuddly girl she has ever known!

So please come and see me – soon

Ariel
