Artie is a 6 month old male Kokoni Cross. Artie is a rescue from Cyprus who is flew to the UK on 15 May in the hope of finding his forever home. Unfortunately this gorgeous wee boy is still waiting for his forever family to find him. He is currently living in Norton, Gloucester. Here is a little about him. Artie was rescued from the streets of Dali, Cyprus by our charity along with his mum and 6 brothers and sisters when he was around 3 days old. We think Artie has a bit of Kokoni Terrier in his mix as he is and will remain a small size. The Kokoni is a Greek dog and “Kokoni” means “small dog” in Greek. Kokoni Terriers adore human interaction. The breed is alert, lively, cheerful, smart and loyal. They are great companion dogs. Kokoni are full of fun, love to run and play and Artie is no exception to this breed description.
Artie is the sweetest, kindest and playful pup you will ever meet! He’s good on a lead but must have a harness as sometimes panics if just on his collar. He loves all dogs and enjoys playing even though he is small he sometimes gets knocked over. He loves women and children. However at the moment he does have a fear of men so we hope that his new human(s) will be able to help him overcome this.
He has only been in the UK for around 4 weeks and so is still very much settling into his new life. He just needs someone who can spend time with him and perhaps another dog in his new household as well to help him gain confidence. He is toilet trained and also is crate trained. He is happy to sleep in the crate or in bed with you at night as he loves cuddles!
Artie has a sensitive stomach so must have hypoallergenic dry food and at present is being fed vets prescribed food. Artie is still very much a puppy and as with any other young puppy joining your family, the training and time you spend with him will help him develop into the adult dog you want him to be. Rescue dogs and puppies can sometimes take a few months to come out of their ‘shells’. Artie needs his new family to help him by providing love, patience and guidance which will help lay the foundations for a lasting relationship.
