Aussie is a 3 year old male Lhasa Apso. Aussie is back up for adoption after recent adoption has fallen. Aussie came to us last month after being taken to the vets to be put to sleep as he kept snapping at his elderly owner. Aussie went into foster and was given strict boundaries, with rewards for good behaviour, and there was not one incident of biting or snapping over the several weeks he was there. He was therefore rehomed but is once more coming back to us because he has bitten his adopter on several occasions.
Aussie needs an experienced home with someone who will continue to work with him to correct his behaviour and who will adhere to the advice regarding the boundaries he needs. Aussie is a three-year-old Lhasa Apso and an experience of this breed or similar would be ideal. Aussie needs to be the only dog in the home as he can be picky about the dogs he wants to share his space with and needs a child-free home in view of his snap history, although he’s been happily cuddled by visiting children in his foster home. Aussie can live with cats.
Aussie needs a no-nonsense home with someone who will kindly but firmly put him in his place. Aussie doesn’t just nip once; he can become quite frenzied in his attacks and we need to find someone who can control this behaviour as he is such a sweet and loving dog otherwise!
