Rupit – 6 month old male Bedington Terrier cross Whippet
Rupit is an adorable 6 month old Bedington Terrier cross Whippet boy. He was taken on as a youngster by a family who had lots of children and just couldn’t give him the time and attention that he needed.
Rupit is a lovely, gentle boy who is eager to learn and keen to please. He loves playing with our other dogs – both small and large. Rupit adores people, is cat friendly, is good in the car and on lead and is housetrained.

Lennie is a gorgeous 1 year old British Bulldog. This poor chap was abandoned at a service station and unclaimed by his owners. Lennie is, we feel, a bulldog without the typical bulldog “faults” of a squashed snout and curled tail but he very much has a typical bulldog character.

He is housetrained, a good traveller and good on lead. Lennie mixes well with our other dogs, we imagine that he would also be good with cats and he is great with children. He loves company and would like a squishy sofa to snore on, please.

Blackjack – 9 month old male Patterdale Terrier Cross
Blackjack is a lovely 9 month old Patterdale Cross boy. He is very much a terrier, albeit long legged! Blackjack has a very nice nature and he is good with our other dogs, but tends to be a bit reactive if picked on and we feel that he would clash at the moment with entire males (unless they were very submissive or very dominant) as he has only just been castrated.
Obviously, this behaviour will settle given time to recover from his op. He is a good traveller, is good on lead and seems to be housetrained. Can you offer him a new home?

Max is a very handsome 6 month old crossbreed boy. He is great fun! He is bouncy and lively and would make a great family dog. We expect that he would be good with a confident cat who would tolerate his bouncing.

Max is a good traveller, is good on lead and seems to be housetrained – he is not having any accidents overnight. He loves toys and likes to play with our other dogs. Max would possibly enjoy agility or flyball as he is a great jumper!

Toby is a golden 9 month old Chihuahua cross Jack Russell Terrier. He has come in to us because he was owned by an elderly couple who couldn’t cope with a puppy. Unfortunately, they had no control over him and gave him no boundaries. Toby is a little wary of new people initially, but his love of cuddling up on a lap helps him to get past this quite quickly!
He plays well with our other dogs, but prefers to play with 1 or 2 at a time not 6 at once. We suspect that Toby would chase cats in a new home, but he is small enough that this could be worked on. Toby has travelled well in the car on short journeys, but hasn’t travelled on long journeys before.

Forrest is a fabulous 9 week old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross puppy. He was handed in to rescue as the last unsold pup of a litter.
Forrest’s housetraining is well under way, he is a very good traveller and mixes well with our other dogs. He is as happy to play mad running chasing games with the dogs as he is to snuggle with them for a sleep beside the fire.
He is not showing any signs of being destructive and is not a nippy puppy at all. Forrest is great with cats and loves people.
19Feb2010 | Lizzies Barn Animal Sanctuary Carmarthenshire | READ MOREBrin – 9 month old female Schnauzer Cross
Brin is a beautiful 9 month old Schnauzer cross girl. She was handed in to rescue due to a change in her owner’s accommodation which meant that she had to be rehomed. Brin is obviously a cross, but she has the whiskers, coat and docked tail of a schnauzer. She is the height of a Cocker Spaniel.

She is very sweet and gentle and we think that she is likely to be fine with cats. Brin would be good with children, but we feel that she is the sort of dog who would quietly and reluctantly tolerate all sorts of pulling about from toddlers, so we would rather she was homed with children who have better control of themselves to avoid her being put into that position.

She is a good traveller, is good on lead, has an excellent recall and seems to be housetrained. Brin is also absolutely fine with our other dogs. “Practically perfect” in every way!

Coda is a nearly 2 year old working English Cocker Spaniel. He has come in to us due to his family’s long working hours leaving little time for him. Coda is delightful and is good with everything, but can be quite submissive. He needs a little help with his housetraining and is inclined to get up to mischief indoors if not supervised!
Sheba – 16 year old female German Shepherd Dog
Sheba is a wonderful almost 16 year old German Shepherd Dog. She has come in to us because her owner is unwell and moving in with family, but there is not enough room for Sheba. Sheba is an absolutely lovely old lady who seems to be in good health.

She is fine with our other dogs, but can be a little bossy at times. All Sheba wants now is a garden of her own to potter in.

Rolo is a striking 13 year old blue merle Border Collie boy. He has come in to us due to a change in his owner’s accommodation. Rolo is great with our dogs and everyone he meets. He just loves everyone and is such a happy, friendly dog. His housetraining needs a little supervision as he lived in an outbuilding, but it seems to be fine at the moment. Rolo walks well on a lead and travels well.
