Peggy Sue – 10 year old female Yorkshire Terrier

Peggy Sue is a 10 year old female Yorkshire Terrier who is currently in foster care in Hull. Peggy Sue is an active oldie who is very gentle, she loves to be sat near you having a snuggle. She was fantastic yesterday when we went to the vets, very well behaved. Her vaccination records state her d.o.b as 11/99, so she is only just 10. My friend came down today and Peggy Sue jumped straight onto her knee and lay there the whole time! Everyone who meets her loves her.

Peggy Sue is about 26cm high, she doesn’t like the tape measure so I’m not going to spook her! Peggy Sue is a very calm dog, she loves being sat next to you or on your knee. She is also very gentle and will make someone a fantastic companion.

Peggy Sue will take a walk with you if you would like the company but she does not ‘ask’ for a walk every day, she would be great for someone who had mobility issues and could not get out every day but still wanted the company. She does not pull on the lead, so again would suit anyone who was a little unsteady.

Peggy Sue has a big afraid little dog bark!! She only barks when someone is at the door, so is protecting you, however she will stop easily when told, and greets anyone at the door with a bit tail wag and a fuss. She also barks at the cat which comes in my garden (he tries to get into the Guinea Pigs cage and kill them – he’s already got in once) Max is scared of the cat (it attacked him) but Peggy Sue has seen him off. My Guinea Pigs are eternally greatfull to her but it is a consideration if you are a cat owner. I’m allergic to cats so cannot test what she would be like with them in the house…sorry. These are the only times she barks though so she is great!

Peggy Sue has been great with my children, she was a little nervous of them at first but once she realized they would not hurt her they have been her best friends! I would say she would be great with sensible older children/visiting grandchildren. Apart from the first day nerves (completely normal) she has had no accidents and simply goes to the back door to be let out when she needs to go. She is a very ‘easy to please’ dog and is going to make her new forever family very happy!

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of Peggy Sue is required to complete an adoption form after reading all the adoption rules & procedures via the rescues website.

Tessa – 8 year old female Yorkshire Terrier

Tessa is an 8 year old female Yorkshire Terrier who has been handed in as her owners bought her and owned her here in England but on their return to Australia left her with a friend/neighbour to look after. She is currently based in Devon.

Unfortunately the lifestyle of large horses and much larger dogs has meant that Tessa has become nervous of everything. It was not the right home for her and the new owners have been very sensible and relaised that. Their teenage daughter is very upset though that Tessa has had to come in to rescue. But I have assured the family that she will be well loved and we will find a great new home for her. She has had extensive dental work done now. She is nervous around dogs but is fine with cats. She loves children but they will need to be 10 or over.

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of Tessa is required to complete an adoption form after reading all the adoption rules & procedures via the rescues website.

Milly May – 11 year old female Yorkshire Terrier

Milly May is a lovely 11 year old female Yorkshire Terrier who is currently in foster care in Hull. Milly May is lovely she is so tiny, but full of fun, Her vaccination records give her d.o.b as 11/10/98 so she’s only just 11 (but she really doesn’t act it- I’ve met older 6 year old dogs!) She loves her walks, both girls are brilliant on a lead and you have to keep checking they are still on the end of the lead as there’s no pulling (my seven year old can walk both together easily!). Milly May had a couple of little accidents over the weekend but she is settling down now and was dry overnight and today.

Milly May is a gentle dog. She loves my boys and is quick to jump on their knee for a cuddle. She likes Max, my Pom and has been friendly with other dogs when we have been out for a walk. She enjoys her walks and will walk for as long as you let her! She is very gentle on a lead and doesn’t pull.

Milly May is nosey (she stands on two legs and raises herself up like a meercat to see whats going on!). She is keen to learn and very keen to please. She acts so much younger than her years and yet is so much calmer than a young dog (perfect for anyone who would like an active dog but is not keen on the puppy/young dog phase???)

Milly May is fine when left for short periods of time. She has had a couple of accidents while she has been here, but these are becoming few and far between. She is so keen to please and usually goes to the back door to signal she wants to be let out, I feel that with a few weeks gentle understanding the accidents will be a thing of the past.
Milly May stands 22 cm to her shoulders and 29 cm from shoulders to tail so she is only tiny.

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of Milly Mae is required to complete an adoption form after reading all the adoption rules & procedures via the rescues website.

Shandy and Tikka – 7 and 8 year old male and female Yorkshire Terriers

Shandy and Tikka are two lovely 7 and 8 year old male and female Yorkshire Terriers who are looking for a new home together. They are good with other dogs, cats and children older than 10. Tikka is currently a little overweight and is one a diet. These two lovely little ones are in Scotland.

These two yorkies have come into rescue because their owner has had a baby and could not cope with the baby pulling the dogs around. The dogs have started to get grumpy with the baby who would not leave them alone. These dogs are very well loved and have been spoilt.

Their fosterer will come along and update the thread on the rescue’s website and will supply us with photos and weights for the dogs. These 2 are a pair so will not be split. If you are interested in adopting both, please bear in mind that it is double everything! (but double the love and kisses too)

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of Shandy & Tikka is required to complete an adoption form after reading all the adoption rules & procedures located on the rescue’s website.

Sparky – 3-4 month old male Terrier Cross

Sparky is an absolutely gorgeous 3-4 month old male Terrier Cross puppy with a great temperment and seems very contented with everything. He loves going for walks and especially in this rainy weather he is loving the big puddles! He loves to jump in them, splash around and see if he can find a leaf in it to pick up and toss it in the air. Sparky is very content to be out in the garden, playing and sniffing around.

Sparky is also very good at playing fetch the ball with the children. Sparky’s other favourite activity is to chase his tail – he is hysterical and spends ages doing it… never ceases to provide him with hours of entertainment as well as us watching him! He is doing well on house training and is a typical puppy as he likes to play with his mouth with gentle bites but we are working on teaching him not to play with his mouth. He has a couple of ‘chew toys’ that he now realises are for his teeth! Sparky is very sweet, good natured and really enjoys a cuddle!

Sparky is a little one that has come in from the pound after being found in the streets all alone. Although he is just a baby he is a rather ‘big’ baby!! He is a very lively little lad that would benefit from a young lively house where there is an older calmer dog that will teach him manners. He would also be required by the rescue to attend a local basics training class.

Sparky is looking for his forever family and would be a great addition to a loving family. Sparky is being looked after by our family where there are two children who are 7 and 8 years old and is very good with them. He is currently in a foster home in Essex.

Bruno – 2 year old male German Spitz

Bruno is a beautiful 2 year old male German Spitz who is pure white. He came into rescue with his sister Koko (also featured on Dogsblog) who have since made the decision to rehome them seperately as they no longer get on and have developed into better characters since being apart.

This beautiful dog has come in to us as his old mummy is not too well and was finding the grooming and upkeep hard to cope with as she has mum and dad as well. He has been very well looked after and reared by Jane and are certainly a credit to her an her family. He is very clean in the house. He is not at all fussy in his eating habits although can be a bit food aggresive if not monitored. Getting on very well with all the rest of the little ones here apart from not too keen on the cats who have now sussed this and gives him a wide berth!

I do not feel either that children under approximately 14 years old would be an option as he is a bouncy larger dog who can also be very excitable when greeting people and also come across as a touch unfriendly, but he really is a ’softies’, it is just a ‘Spitz’ thing.

If you feel you would like to be considered please make sure that you have done some research on this breed as they are quite ‘high’ maintainance in the grooming department especially being pure white.

He is currently in a foster home in Lincolnshire.

She did come into rescue with her brother, but we have since decided to split the pair due to sibling rivalry.

She is currently in a foster home in Lincolnshire.

Bear – 22 month old male German Spitz

Bear is a 22 month old male German Spitz who has come from an excellent home, but he just did not want to be a show dog. He has so far meet the other dogs and cats here an shown no interest in any of them, even when he first came in and was surrounded by them all. He can go to a home with children aged 14 and older.

He has been with us since Mother’s Day this year and has really come a long way. In the summer we took him to lots of dog shows to socialise him and he even walked away with lots of 1st places!

Bear is currently with his foster family in Lincolnshire.

Buddy – 11 year old male Yorkshire Terrier

Little Buddy is an 11 year old male Yorkshire Terrier who has come in to the rescue due to his family having to move and their new landlord will not allow them to take him. It was the hardest decision they have had to make as they have had him all his life. He has a few bald patches on him, but his foster carer is now bathing him in Malasab shampoo an he is now also being fed on a diet which seems to be calming his skin irritations down. He has also put on weight while he has been in his foster carers capable hands. He has been wormed and deflead put on. He is fine to live with other dogs and cats and has lived with children all his life, so should have no problems living with respectful children of all ages.

Buddy is with his foster family in Essex.
