For further details regarding adopting a dog from Animal Accident Rescue Unit, please telephone Kate on 07914058618 or email aarudogs@aol.com Please note that our Charity is run by volunteers. We don’t have a central base or kennels/cattery or set opening times. Our rescued animals are looked after in individual foster homes.

Ruth – 3-4 year old female Cross-Breed

Ruth is a 3 – 4 year old female Lurcher Cross looking for a new home after she was found as a stray and taken directly into our care. She is a lovely, affectionate girl who easily settled into her foster home.

She loves her walks and gets along with everyone she meets. She loves people and gets on with other dogs. She is happily living with her foster sister – a Staffordshire Bullterrier – who she likes to play games with and whom she follows and learns from in daily activities.

She eats well, and she knows some commands, but would benefit from further training. Ruth would be suited to an older family home (children 10yrs plus) or an adult only home. We feel she would get along with another dog with the right introductions, but she has not been cat tested. She is housetrained.

Ruth is a girl seeking some love and affection in her life and who would blossom in her own loving family environment….can you offer her a loving forever home.

Ruth can be rehomed anywhere in the UK would prospective adopters would have to be willing to travel to the Nottingham area to visit Ruth.

Jack – 13 year old male Boxer

Jack is a 13 year old Boxer boy who was sadly picked up as a stray and taken to the pound. It seems he has been abandoned just at the time in his life when he needs love, security and comfort the most. He was not coping with life in kennels and so AARU offered to help and fortunately he’s now safe in the care of one of our foster homes.

He is a gentle old soul who makes very little demand on anyone…in fact he is so laid back it was a struggle to get him to move for his video appearance! He doesn’t like other dogs or cats so needs to be the only pet in the home. He adores children who are one of his great loves…along with sleeping! Due to his age his eyesight isn’t fantastic, he may be a little deaf (although that can be selective!) and he appreciates not being left too long as he may need to pop out for a call of nature – sounds like all of us of a certain age!! – but he is generally fit and healthy. He travels well in a car and walks well on the lead.

Everyone who meets Jack absolutely loves him. Have you room for a gorgeous ‘old geezer’ in your life?

We would consider long-term foster care for Jack and continue to be responsible for his veterinary treatment, in return for an offer of a safe and loving retirement home for this dear dog.

If you could give this lovely old boy a comfortable loving home where he can spend his retirement, please contact Kate at AARU on 07914 058618

Could you offer Jack a comfy place in his twilight years?

Chloe – 4 year old female Jack Russell Terrier cross Chihuahua

Chloe is a 4 year old female Jack Rusell cross Chihuahua looking for a new home. She was taken into the care of Animal Accident Rescue Unit when she wandered into someones open kitchen door at 11pm at night! She is a lovely, affectionate girl who has settled well in her foster home.

She enjoys walks, and having a cuddle! Chloe can be dominant, but currently lives with the fosterers female King Charles Spaniel, so we feel she could live with another dog.

Chloe is loving, loyal and very pretty, and would be best suited to a quieter home without young children.

Chloe is speyed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Roxy – 4 year old female Jack Russell Terrier Cross

Roxy is a 4 year old female Jack Russell Terrier Cross looking for a new home after she was found very unwell, in an emaciated state having not been looked after properly. She is now a lovely, affectionate girl who is currently in a foster home, where she has received great care and attention to bring her back to full health.

She loves walking and cuddles. She has quite a personality and knows what she likes. She can get over excited when meeting strange dogs, but after a short time she settles down, this could be the Jack Russell in her! …but she has lived quite happily with a male Rottweiler and a male Staffordshire Bull Terrier whilst with her foster carers.

She loves people and she has been allowed to mix with young children but only if it can be ensured she is treated with respect and highly strung activities are not allowed around her.

She will eat most food, so is not a problem to feed and happily sleeps in a crate at night and she knows all of the usual commands. Roxy would be best suited to an experienced adult only home – she loves to sit on your lap and very much enjoys a cuddle!.
