Holly – 8 year old female Patterdale Terrier
Little Holly is an 8 year old Patterdate Terrier who sadly came into our care following the death of her owner. She is a little live wire who is very active and outgoing. Her favourite thing ever is fetch and she will bring the ball back…and drop it too! She is a bright little spark with a wonderful temperament. She has been no trouble in kennels, where she is often clean overnight, will happily let you pick her up and enjoys a fuss. Holly would suit an active home where any children are over 6 years old, as long as she will get plenty of exercise and attention Holly will be a happy girl.

She would be best suited as an only dog due to being attacked in the past which has left her wary, she cannot live with cats. Overall Holly is a very friendly girl but is stressed to find herself in kennels, can you give her the loving and secure home she deserves? Holly is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Big handsome Max is a 2 year old German Shepherd boy who was handed over to us as his owner was emigrating. He was previously kept in a room in a small flat and had received very little socialisation before coming into our care. When Max first came into kennels he was very wary and showed a lot of aggression such as barking at everyone who walked past his kennel. After a few days without much improvement we arranged for Max to be transferred to a German Shepherd Rescue, as it was clear he needed intense rehabilitation.

However on the day that Max was to be transported he started to show huge signs of improvement and so we decided to let him stay with us. And boy are we glad we did! Max is just a big daft puppy underneath it all and it soon became clear that he was just scared all along! He loves to play and is very loyal and loving, once he has established who his leader is he will not leave their side.

He is dog friendly and has become best friends with our permanent resident Rocky who has been showing him the ropes. He is looking for an adult only home with someone who has experience with the German Shepherd breed. Overall Max is a big lovable teddy bear who would make someone a very lucky and proud owner. Max is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.
If you feel that you can offer Max the loving and secure home he needs please contact Liverpool Dog Rescue.

This sweet little girl is 12 week old Leila, who is a cross-breed girl that has sadly found herself in our care as her owner’s landlord would not accept pets at the property. Although we can’t be a 100% sure we feel that she may have some Lurcher/Border Collie/Labrador in her breeding. She is a typical playful puppy who mixes well with other dogs and is young enough to integrate with cats.

Leila is currently in a foster home in Merseyside, Liverpool and will require a home with someone who is around for most of the day.
Please note that as part of the Liverpool Dog Rescue Policy ALL puppies must be neutered once they reach 6 months old and will be rehomed on a strict spay neuter agreement.
Zack – 3 year old male Cross-Breed
This handsome chap is Zack, he’s a 3 year old medium sized cross-breed who came into our care on Thursday 10th November 2011. He had been taken in by a kind lady the previous week after his owner had been evicted. Unfortunately the lady could not keep Zack due to ill health. Zack appears to have some sort of scarring around his muzzle, which we can only guess has been caused by his mouth being tied shut over a long period of time. This has caused his fur to grow back white and we are unsure if this will improve in the future but we think it just makes Zack that little bit more special.

Zack can be quite nervous and scared of new people and is very vocal towards them at first, he is not an aggressive dog but will bark when strangers enter the home and has sadly been returned to our care TWICE for this so please do not apply to adopt him unless you are prepared to work with him. We will offer help and support on behalf of our dog behaviourist. Zack would be happiest to be rehomed in the company of another dog or with someone who is around for most of the day. Overall Zack is a very sweet and loving boy who requires a kind and understanding home.

He would make the most devoted companion. Zack is dog friendly and shares his foster home with a large pack of dogs and could possibly live with a cat. He is also house and crate trained, non destructive and fantastic off lead with good recall. Due to the lack of background information Zack will require a home with children over 8 years old. Zack is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Can you be the one to give Zack the stability that he deserves after such upheaval.

He is a typical playful pup with a loving nature. Reggie is currently in foster in Liverpool, Merseyside and is sharing his foster home with a large pack of dogs without any problems. He is neutered, microchipped and will be fully vaccinated shortly.

Bella – 1 year old female German Shepherd Dog
Beautiful Bella is a 1 year old German Shepherd female arrived in our care on Monday 9th January due to a relationship split and the lady was finding it hard to cope with Bella and her two young children on her own. Bella is a very shy girl at the moment who is bewildered to find herself in kennels, she has been very quiet but has proven to have a lovely temperament. She has also been very friendly towards the dogs that she has met.

Bella paid a visit to the vets on 16th January as her ears were very sore, she is now on medication for this but may require surgery in the near future. Bella will be looking for a loving and secure home with someone who is experienced with the German Shepherd breed. A home with confident children over 7 would be advised due to Bella’s size and puppy like nature.
Bella has been fully vaccinated and microchipped but unfortunately came into our care in season. Due to this she cannot be spayed for 3 months but will be rehomed on a strict spay/neuter agreement.

Woody is a 6 year old English Bull Terrier cross boy who came into kennels on 25th November 2011 after his owner could no longer care for him properly and we were told that he was living outside in a coal shed. He had previously lived with 5 cats and when the lady rehomed these poor Woody started to pine after them. Before coming into our care we were told that Woody was born with a genital defect but nothing could prepare us for the extent of this, it was like nothing we nor our vet had ever seen before.

Woody’s penis looked as though it has been torn apart and although he could urinate properly this was obviously causing him a lot of discomfort. After being examined by the vet it became clear that it would not be fair to let Woody continue to live the way he was and so the decision to reconstruct his genitals was made. On Tuesday 13th December Woody underwent the long and complicated surgery but was still quite poorly when we went to collect him that evening and so our wonderful vet team kept a close eye on him in the surgery for 2 nights.

Sadly Woody’s surgery has now left him with no genitals but we think it just makes him that little bit more special. Woody is now recovering well and is looking for a special home to call his own. He is a very friendly and outgoing little boy who has proven to be clean and non destructive in his kennel. He has shared his walks with other dogs but can be quite picky with what canines share his company and therefore would be best suited to a home where he can be the only dog. However resident dogs will be invited for several introductions. Woody has became a firm favourite at the kennels and we all love him dearly.

Little Holly is an 8 year old Patterdale Terrier girl who came into our care following the death of her owner. She is a little live wire who is very active and outgoing, she just loves to play fetch! Holly would suit an active family home with children over 6 years old, where she will get plenty of exercise and attention.

She would be best suited as an only dog due to being recently attacked which has left her wary, although she is fine when meeting dogs out and about on walks. She is a very friendly and happy go lucky little girl but is stressed to find herself in kennels.

Snoopy – 13 year old female Cross-Breed
Snoopy is a small Corgi sized 13 year old female cross-breed who has sadly found herself in our care due to her elderly owner going into hospital. She was left in the care of a family member, whose only option was to have poor Snoopy put to sleep if a rescue place was not found. Luckily our wonderful vet team wanted to help Snoopy and had put the lady in touch with us, we are so glad they did! Snoopy is a very sweet and friendly little girl but is obviously very confused to find herself in such a strange place after so many years in a loving home. She was such a loyal companion to the elderly lady who she lived with and we are sure she misses her a lot.
Snoopy gets along well with other dogs but is not suitable to live with cats, she is in brilliant health and is also house-trained. She is still very active and enjoys her walks but would suit a quiet home where she will be shown love and kindness after such upheaval. Can you be the one to mend Snoopy’s broken heart? Snoopy is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.
