Rupert – 6 year old male Beagle
Rupert is 6 years old. Beagles are loving, sweet, gentle, brave and intelligent. They are generally good with children and other dogs but because of their hunting instincts are best in a home without cats and other small animals. Beagles are determined, curious and watchful and require patient and firm training. Rupert has come to us via the dog pound so we have no background information on him. Since he has been with us he has been a good boy and is a very funny little lad who is extremely friendly and loves getting lots of big hugs and cuddles.
Jessie – 5 year old female Jack Russell Terrier
Jessie – 5years JRT’s love to run and play all day. They are full of energy and are very loyal and clever but need a strong owner to take charge or these cheeky monkeys can become a handful. —— Poor Jessie has had a very hard life and has been used as a breeding bitch which often means a very sheltered and uncomfortable life. We are so glad that she has arrived at Animal Care so we can find her a wonderful home where she can be part of a loving family and start enjoying her life. sad and alone.
Clyde – 1 year old male Terrier
Clyde is a 1 year and 7months old male. Clyde is looking for a very special adult-only home. He needs a new owner who understands the complexities of the terrier mind and the importance of ensuring all interactions with him are upbeat and positive. Clyde has lost trust somewhere along the line and copes badly with negative interactions, including scolding or finger-pointing. He needs a calm household and an owner who puts no pressure on him whatever, where he’s simply allowed to ‘be’. When Clyde trusts someone he is a very loving and devoted companion – but he can lose trust very easily and then becomes defensive.
Jess – 4 year old female Lurcher
Jess is a 4 year and 7 month old Lurcher. This breed is fun-loving, affectionate and lovable. These dogs were bred to hunt so lurchers love to run! They have a very high energy level and are best suited to a rural environment. Jess is a lovely girl who is looking for a home where someone is around most of the time or where she is able to go to work with her new owner as she really doesn’t like being on her own for long periods. Jess is best in a home with older children and no other pets.
Dante – 3 year old male Boxer
About Dante… Boxer, Male, 3 years 4 months old Dante is a boxer. This breed is bright, energetic and playful. They are active and incredibly strong dogs and require a large amount of exercise to prevent boredom-associated behaviours such as chewing, digging or licking.——- Dante is full of life and very friendly but can only go to an adult only home as he gets quite upset around children. He walks well with halti and is keen to learn. He would be better suited to a home where he is the only dog as he can become stressed while sharing a home with another but he is fine with other dogs while he’s out and about. We are unaware how.
Dante would be with cats. He is looking for a home where he will not be left
for too long each day. ——- NB: WE WILL ONLY REHOME HIM TO SOMEONE WITH
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF OWNING THIS BREED OF DOG.
Raymond – 8 year old male English Springer Spaniel
About Raymond… English Springer Spaniel, Male, 8 years old Raymond is an 8 year old male Springer spaniel this breed is full of energy and can walk for miles and miles without even stopping for a break. Raymond is a happy go lucky lad who loves attention he is good with other dogs and very friendly. He is currently undergoing vet treatment as he has a terrible eye problem which will either need removing or some form of operation. This poor lad must have been in a huge amount of pain but still such a happy dog. We are currently asking anyone who can help us with the cost of vet treatment to send anything they can to ensure Raymond has the best new start possible.
Magnus – 18 month old male Lurcher Cross
About Magnus… Lurcher cross, Male, 1 year 6 months old Magnus is a 18 month old male lurcher these dogs were bred to hunt so lurcher’s love to run! They have a very high energy level and are best suited to a rural environment. Magnus came to us via the Blackpool dog wardens. He is good with dogs and walks well on the lead. Magnus is a easy going chilled out dog who loves to run and play. He would be best suited to a home with no small animals as we think he might have been worked in the past.
Cassie – 5 year old female Collie Cross
About Cassie… Collie Crossbreed, Female, 5 years 9 months old She is a collie cross and the collie breed are working dogs and full of energy and they can walk and run for miles without even stopping for a break therefore they need active families who will give them both the physical exercise they need as well as plenty of mental stimulation. Cassie is a real sweetheart who is desperate to feel loved and wanted again. She is a very friendly girl who is never happier than when she’s getting lots of cuddles and attention from anyone she meets. She is fine around other dogs but must be the only dog in her new home and she has previously lived with both children and was completely happy and relaxed around them. She is a really lovely and loving lass who would make a great addition to almost any family and she promises to be a good girl for her new family and give them lots of cuddles and sloppy kisses whenever they want them!
Mabel – 6 year old female British Bulldog
Mabel is a lovely girl who needs a new family who are very active as she needs loads and loads of exercise. She needs long walks every day and she also loves to play with her toys. She is a very friendly girl who is just a big softie and loves getting lots and lots of cuddles and hugs. She is fine around most people but can be a little wary of men. She is fine around other dogs, cats and loves children so would make a great addition to almost any family. She is just an all round good girl who can’t wait until she has a new family who will love her forever.
Mabel is quite overweight and will need a new family who will put her on a strict diet and help her lose some of her excess weight.

Maisie is a 3 year old female Jack Russell terrier cross SBT and both these breeds love to run and play all day. They are full of energy and are both very loyal and clever but need a strong owner to take charge or these cheeky monkeys can become a handful. Maisie came to us via Elswick kennels as she was found as a stray so we know little about her history. We have mixed her with other dogs and she played well but would settle better in a home as an only dog. We don’t know what she is like around children so would like her to go with older children over 10 years. Maisie is a lovely dog and loves cuddles and likes to play with toys. She’s had a hard start to life so is looking for a new family to love her forever.
