Star – 1 year old male Whippet
Lovley little brindle whippet Star is just a year old and was recently handed in by his owner. He has been used as a working dog living outside for the last few months but is now looking for his own home where he can enjoy the comforts that all whippets love. Star has lived with other dogs large and small and with children. More info to follow as we get to know him better.
Scooby – 3 year old male Greyhound
Scooby was rescued from very poor conditions in the NE of the UK nearly a year ago and has been in a home since Jan 2010. Sadly through no fault of his own he is having to come back to us
Scooby is a 3 year old ex-racing greyhound. Scooby is looking for a new home due to a change in circumstances for his adopted family. He is a handsome, obedient, loveable dog, who never fails to turn heads. He likes nothing more than a comfy bed and can sleep for England! He is very friendly, affectionate and great with older children, living with two young girls at the moment. He loves the company of other dogs, (big or small), and is extremely gentle with them.
Scooby enjoys his twice daily walks and is excellent on the lead. The beach is the place to let him loose although he is not great at coming back in other situations. He is house-trained, non-demanding and would happily live with another dog or on his own. Scooby can be left for a few hours and is as good as gold. Scooby would be a fantastic
addition to your family! It would be a great shame for Scooby to have to come back into kennels again as he is so settled in his home life.
Jude – 6 year old male Greyhound
Jude is a beautiful blue ex-racer who just arrived with her friend Poppy from the NE of the UK. Jude is 6 years old and in good condition if a little underweight at the moment.
Jude is a quiet and affectionate girl who loves her friend Poppy and gets on well with other large dogs she has met. Jude walks nicely on the lead and lives happily with her friend Poppy. We will get to know her more over the coming weeks so more info to follow.
Blaze – 2 year old male Greyhound
Blaze is a two year old black greyhound/lurcher who arrived recently in very poor condition from Ireland. He is very emaciated and his poor joints are covered in open pressure sores. He is now slowly gaining weight but it will take a long time before he is fully recovered. Blaze is a very gentle and affectionate boy and loves human company, he is quite sad and depressed at the moment but is coming around as he learns that his new carers are not going to hurt him.
Blaze gets on well with other dogs, however he can be bed possessive so may be better as an only dog with someone around most of the time for company. Blaze is good with children and could live with older children who know about how to respect his boundaries.

Cooper is a stunning 3 year old white and black greyhound from Ireland. He has the most fantastic character and is loved by everyone at the rescue. Cooper has sadly been returned to us after two weeks in his new home as he didn’t like being left alone. Cooper only seems to settle if he is left with another dog and so we now feel that to succeed in his next and hopefully his last home, he will need the company of another dog, preferably a bitch of similar size.

Cooper gets on great with other dogs and is a gentle and well mannered boy. He is excellent on the lead and loves children and could live with older children. Cooper is now back in kennels and as such has now been with us for
quite a long time. Please give him a chance.
Daphne and Lola – 8 month old female Greyhounds
Daphne and Lola are two 8 month old greyhound sisters who were reared in our care and rehomed some months ago. Sadly both have recently come back to us. These girls are typical puppies and need lots of training at puppy classes, socializing and play time. Both girls would happily live with another dog but Daphne would be better with an older dog of similar or larger size as she can be bossy. Lola is very gentle and has lived with small dogs. Both girls have lived with children and would happily live with older children (10+) again. Neither girls can live with cats. Its very sad that they have had to come back into kennels and they desperately need to be back in loving homes.
Max – 3-5 year old male Greyhound
Big boy Max is a gentle giant. He really is huge but he has the sweetest and most gentle nature and is a loving and affectionate boy. Max arrived with Eddie but he has never raced or done very much in his life so everything is new to him at the moment. Max has a wonderful brindle coat and is in fantastic condition. Max walks wonderfully on the lead and is now starting to learn what toys and treats are and we hope he will soon start to play and have fun. He loves his walks and his kennel mate Abbey and his old friend
Eddie. Max needs a gentle owner who will show him what life is all about.
Max would happily live with a female of similar size and possibly a male after careful introduction. Max cannot live with cats and needs socializing with smaller dogs. Max may find young children too intimidating but could live with older children (12+).

Harry is a 2-3 year old ex-racer from the NE of the UK. He was rescued from a council pound where he would have been put to sleep. Harry has a lovely black coat with handsome white markings around his neck, legs and face. He has the most fabulous sticky-up ears and although sadly has lost half of his tails, he wags it with glee every
time he sees us. Harry loves his toys and literally jumps for joy in the paddocks with his toys in his mouth. He’s a very friendly lad and loves cuddles and playing with his kennel mate Annie.
Harry has never known anything but kennel life and meeting other greyhounds so he is slowly learning about the real world and what all these other little dogs. Harry could live with older children (10+) and with a female of similar size. As with all dogs, Harry would benefit from going to training classes to socialize him with different dogs. Harry cannot live with cats.

Wonderful Eddie is 4 and a half years old and has come straight from his trainer upon retirement. Eddie is such a happy boy and is always wagging his tail and always has a smile on his face. He has a glossy black coat and is a really big handsome boy. Eddie walks well on the lead but can pull a little at first as he gets so excited. Eddie loves to give hugs and puts his big paws up on your shoulders for a big hug and a kiss when he meets you. He gets on great with the other greyhounds here but is still quite interested in the little dogs as he has never seen them before. Eddie would happily live with a female of similar size and also gets on great with his buddy Max, so could possibly live with a male, with careful introductions. Eddie cannot live with cats or small dogs and is a bit big and boisterous for young children.
Daisy – 4-5 year old female Whippet cross Saluki
Daisy is a small whippet/saluki cross of around 4-5 years old. She arrived from Durham in April and was a cruelty case and was rehomed a short time after wards. Sadly due to problems with separation anxiety she has now been returned and is now looking for a new home. Daisy must have the company of another dog. She is in a foster home with other dogs, large and small and will happily be left for a few hours during the day and is happy to sleep alone as long as she has another dog around her.
Daisy loves to play with her new friends but she can be a little nervous and defensive of around dogs she doesn’t know so a calm introduction is needed in her new home. Dasiy is extremely affectionate and loves to be on the sofa cuddled up in the evenings with her foster family or her doggy friends. We think Daisy was very badly beaten during her past life and can become extremely startled if woken up suddenly when she is asleep. Because of this she will not be rehomed with young children who may spook her.
