Brackon – 11 month old male Border Collie

Handsome Brackon is 11 months old and is an entire male Border Collie. He is a gorgeous blue tri merle color and is of a medium build with a lovely shiny healthy short coat. Brackon is being rehomed as he was bought for a young teenager who was his main carer. Sadly, the child did not have any support with training Brackon and soon began to struggle with handling him as he grew in size and strength. Please check out our website for more details and almost 100 pictures of this gorgeous boy !!

Brackon has been in his foster home for around a month now and is doing brilliantly with his basic training and has learned that he does not need to nip or mouth people, though he can ‘forget himself’ when very excited and does need a gentle reminder to leave ! He’s incredibly loving and friendly and really enjoys the company of our own dog and plays with her every day now he’s settled. He’s been absolutely brilliant with other dogs but I have not tested him with cats yet, though he may be able to live with one that stands its ground as he is a good learner !!

Brackon adores children and is currently in foster with our 4 1/2 year old and quickly learned that the chasing and nipping he was allowed to get away with in his last home was no longer allowed and he now understands that children can be rewarding if you play fetch or snuggle up on the sofa like a good lad. Brackon is quite food focused so does need careful watching at meal or snack times or he will try his best to scoff everything for himself … cheeky puppy !! He is getting more aware of his body but he may still accidentally bump or bowl over a young child so you’d need to be prepared for this.

Brackon is just about the most perfect sort of rescue puppy you can get … he’s stunningly handsome, great traveling in the car, is fully house-trained, sleeps downstairs at night quietly and without chewing, was a total dream camping at a small agility show (including being crated and sleeping in a tent on very windy nights!), was a good boy visiting the KCI festival and BFA championships last month, he settles down in the day either at your feet or next to you on the sofa and is just completely LOVELY !! Although Brackon has progressed absolutely brilliantly, he still needs work putting in with his heelwork so that he does not lunge on the lead as he will if he thinks he’ll get away with it and also needs more work with his recall as he has learned how to avoid being caught again !!

Brackon is only just learning to be left alone while we are out. I have got as far as leaving him for 20 minutes or so while I go and collect my little boy from school, I dont know if he barks at all but he is always quiet and waggy-tailed when I get home! I feel that he would soon get used to being left as he is still young and not destructive, just a little vocal !! He’ll just need some work putting in at first and a bit of help to make sure he settles and doesn’t bark if you have neighbors close by (for example perhaps a walk first, or a kong with his breakfast in to keep him busy?).

We all think he is a perfect puppy boy who is one in a million and will soon be settled as your best friend once you take him home !!

Molly – 6 month old female Border Collie

Molly is a 6 month old Border Collie puppy. She is truly a one in a million superstar puppy who is able to settle well inside the home, is not at all manic but is also very intellegent and clever when you work with her. Molly is in foster with my little boy (age 4) and our dog Bonnie, she has slotted in like a dream here, loves playing with my boy and is gentle and listens to him well. She has accepted her place firmly underneath our own dog and communicates very well with her, they both love raw bones and happily munch them together.

She really has tons and tons of potential as an agility or heelwork to music dog as she bonds very closely with her handler and is very very quick to learn. Molly will need a home who enjoy training as she came to me with a couple of annoying habits and not much else !! She’s doing really well with her basic training and her lead work is also really coming on fast.

Unfortunately her previous owners let her bounce about pulling and barking when they met new people when out and about and just let her bounce all over people barking loudly when new people enter the room. I am working on this and she has calmed down a great deal in under 2 weeks, I am confident she’ll get past this and greet people nicely soon as she can do it when you remind her !! I have been working alongside an experienced behaviourist to sort this and depending on what stage we are at when you adopt Molly and your own experience, this may need to continue in her new home.

Casper – 6 month old male Cross-Breed

Casper is a 6 month old Cross-breed. He is looking for an active home with someone who is prepared to enjoy him as a central part of their family. Casper is a typical very bouncy puppy but is a bright dog and responds well to clicker training. A new home would need to start with the basics to refresh his memory and gently increase the amount of exercise he has to build up to good daily walks.

He does still have a tendancy to jump up and nip when excited and for this reason he would not be suitable for young children as he may knock them over. He is very over the top with other dogs so could only live with a well mannered adult, active patient dog or dogs though he does respect being told to chill by other dogs he can be a little tiresome. Casper is fine to live with cats and has lived with children. He is also used to being left for up to 4 hours each day and is trained to puppy pads for this.

Pip – 9 month old male Border Collie

Pip is a 9 month old Border Collie. He is a very loving and playful dog once he knows and trusts you though he can be very frightened when meeting some new people, particularly some men and smokers. He has an excellent temprament and loves his time playing and going for walks with his doggie friends. Pip is looking for a home as an only dog with someone who has the time and motivation to help him overcome his fear of meeting some new people. With that conquered, Pip is a versatile dog who may like to participate in dog sports and activities or just enjoy a good walk and an evening cuddle. He needs to be an only dog though he is good with other dogs but can be a little bouncy for some as he is still very much a puppy inside.

He could live with cats and children as long as his new home could still make time for training him. Anyone considering Pip must be willing to continue the work I have started with my behaviourist to help overcome his issues and start his basic training. He also needs to have someone around most of the time initially and be taught to accept being left alone which may take time and patience.
