Buckley – 16 month old male Dalmatian
This is Buckley, he is a 16 month old Dalmatian and is looking for a new permanent home. He enjoys long walks, swimming, cuddles and eating. We are rehoming him due to a change in family circumstance-not because Buckley has done anything wrong. We are unable to give him the time he needs and have decided it would be selfish to keep him when someone else could give him what we are unable to. He is a beautiful boy, incredibly loving and affectionate, he needs to be reminded that he’s not a person occasionally but overall a wonderful addition to the family. He is fully house trained, will recall off the lead, walks well on the lead and sleeps a lot!

We will be sad to see him go, but feel he deserves more than we can offer. He is a big dog and needs a lot of time so please think seriously before offering him a home!

Android is an unusual looking young dog. Very sweet and friendly, he was going to be put to sleep this morning as he had not been claimed for the Pound. One of our faithful volunteers drove a couple of hundred miles yesterday morning to save his life.

Android is going to the vet this afternoon (3/1/12) for a full health check, vaccinations, chipping, etc. after which he will be looking for a foster home for further assessing and help. He is a real mix of breeds.
The donation for Android is £150

Angel is a JR, female, about 4 years old. Angel has only been here for 48 hours but in that short time we have seen such a change in her. She has become brave, trusting and incredibly funny. She loves to play with Daisy the Cavalier, they chase around the room or the garden together and then fall sound asleep on the sofa. Angel sometimes goes backwards with little hops and it is impossible not to laugh at her. She looks like a little Bambi. We are not JRT people really but to know Angel is to love her and we certainly do. This dear little dog would be equally happy in practically any situation either as a lap dog or out on a farm. She got to grips with her harness and lead almost immediately and walks really nicely. All she wants and deserves is a lovely forever home of her own as soon as possible.
The Donation for Angel is £150.

Poppet is a lovely Jack Russell. She has been with us for a few weeks now and has settled in really well with my other dogs. She loves their company and after a long walk and her feed is happy to cuddle up in her basket for a rest. Poppet is very good with children, is house trained and walks well on her lead. She has excellent recall when out walking but does think cats are there for her to chase. Poppet best past time is seeking out rats which she will do on command, I think she feels it is her vocation!!
Poppet would suit an active family with another small dog, she is better with young male dogs as she loves to play.

We estimate he is about 5 – 6 months old. I have rarely seen such a frightened little dog, goodness knows what he’s been through but it was hard to get him out of the stable he just froze and couldn’t walk. After some gentle coaxing, he began to relax (tail still firmly tucked under) and was so pleased to have a bit of a cuddle. A beautiful young dog who needs some gentle tlc and as soon as possible. Little Toffee has been assessed by the vet to be only 4 months old can you help to give him a better start in life?
Winston – 18 month old male Cross-Breed
He is in Good condition and friendly. He looks like miniature Rottweiler to avoid confusion regarding size he is much smaller than a Rottweiler, probably a little lower than a Springer Spaniel. At first he just wanted to look at and smell everything. After about an hour of looking round he was introduced to other dogs. I am taking the process slowly but so far they like him and he likes them. Winston will be going to the vet this afternoon so hopefully it will be confirmed he is in good health and his age may be determined.

On thing which seems very sad is he has a container on his collar which usually contains an address this is empty so someone must have removed his address and intentionally lost him. Winston got on well at the vets and was assessed as seriously cute. He weighs 19.2 kg, he is fully grown but less than 18 months old.
He has been neutered. No health problems were found but he could gain a little weight.

He is such a lovely dog, he has met my children and was an absolute gent. We also had lots of visitors this afternoon and he met everyone wagging his tail and very laid back. He gets on well with my two dogs and also the others we met on a walk. After a very busy day he is now asleep on the floor looking very chilled out and relaxed. He would definitely make someone a lovely pet and a welcome member to any family.

Obie – 2-7 year old male Jack Russell Terrier
Obie is a lovely very young male Jack Russell Terrier. He is between 2 and 5 years old, vaccinated and neutered. A lovely lively chap.

Bear is an older Staffordshire Bull Terrier between 5-7 year old, he is castrated lives with 2 other female staffs at present an gets on with them fine but not good with some other dogs so needs to go into foster / forever home as only dog.

He is a very cuddly an a lap dog
he is very good with kids and is very friendly !!! He is house trained an can be left up to 6 hours does not bark through the night lovely lovely dog.

Harley – 3 year old male Dogue de Bordeaux
Harley is a gorgeous Dogue de Bordeaux, nearly 3 years old (vaccinated and neutered), a gentle giant, who the family is reluctantly giving up due to work commitments.Harley is now in foster care and we think his carer is smitten with him. He reports that Harley hasn’t a bad bone in him, just one big, cuddly dog. He’s fine with children, he used to live with 6 of them, and we do leave him alone from time to time. With people he’s lovely, but with other dogs he is a handful as he is still very young he gets excited. Harley needs some training on the lead as he is a very strong dog.
Harley is doing well. A really lovely friendly dog. Loves his cuddles and playing with our bullmastiff. At home he’s a joy to have around. He will let you know when he needs to go outside and loves curling up at your feet in front of the TV. He is left for a few hours at a time with our dog and there have so far been no problems apart from the odd accident if left for extended periods. He sleeps in his basket all night with no problems.

He’s getting better and better on the lead, we’re almost there! He is still very lively when he sees new dogs when out. Once he has met the dog a few times he is very friendly. It’s just a case of introducing them in the correct manner. This excitement can be mistaken for aggression as all he wants to run over to the other dog and barks if he is not allowed. We still keep him on a 10m lunge line as other less experienced dogs owners don’t know the difference between an excited and an aggressive dog. Due to his size people do misjudge him.

Experience of owning large dogs is essential as he needs a strong leader.
He used to live with 6 children so is no trouble when my friends 3 year old comes round. He plays with Harley and he is very gentle. He is definitely not a fan of cats though. A lovely all round dog who just has a case of mistaken identity. With the right focus and environment he will make a very loyal companion.
