Divine – 1 year old female Border Collie Cross
Divine is a 1 year old female Border Collie cross currently in the care of the Dogs Trust in Glasgow. She is a stunning young girl who lacks in confidence and is seeking an experienced home who can help her settle into a home environment. She is very bright and intelligent and always responds well to the training that her carers are working hard on. Her training programme focuses on getting her confidence build in new situations that she can become worried by. This includes meeting new people, introductions to new dogs, going into new areas, seeing traffic and experiencing challenging environments.
Divine has been doing so well with her training and is gradually learning that through trusting people they will help and guide her into growing into a happy and content young dog. She enjoys the company of other dogs and will be suited to a home with older children that can understand she will need her own space. Although she is learning about building trusting relationships with people, she is still and independent girl who enjoys her own space to run around the garden and play with her toys.

Shiloh is a stunning 1 year old German Shepherd cross Collie currently in the care of Dogs Trust Glasgow. She is a bright star who in the right home will grow into a beautiful and content family dog. She is very bright and intelligent and will do very well with training classes as she is in need of further training and socialisation. Shiloh can seem over the top when she first meets people so her owners must be 100 percent committed to getting her confident in new and challenging situations.

Jockie is a charming 10 year old West Highland White Terrier currently in the care of the Dogs Trust in Glasgow. Jockie is looking for a quiet and peaceful adult only household for his retirement. He is a sensitive soul who came to the centre because of his owners ill health so understanably after living with one owner his whole life, he will find it difficult to adapt to a new home. Given time he will be a wonderful companion with a kind and gentle aprroach from his owner.
Jockie is an independant boy and enjoys his own space, he is by no means a lap dog who wants to be up on your knee being fussed over. It is very important his new owners understand and respect this is Jockie will become worried. He prefers to come to you for attention as he doesn’t like to feel pressured, yet once he knows and trust you he’ll be a wonderful companion and a loyal friend. He loves his walks, pottering out an about, playing with his toys and chasing the squeaky ones! He forgets his age and you’ll have to be able to keep up with him!
6Mar2009 | Dogs Trust Glasgow | READ MORENero – 2 year old male Alaskan Malamute
Nero is a stunning 2 year old Alaskan Malamute currently in the care of the Dogs Trust in Glasgow. He is a beautiful young dog, who deserves to be in happy and loving home for life. Nero first found himself in our care as his owners could no longer look after him, and it is very important that his new home have experience of handling dogs of a similar breed, and big and boisterous dogs. Nero is still very much a puppy at heart and is such a friendly, playful and happy dog once he knows you.

Understandably he may take time to build a relationship with his new home as he has spent time in the kennels and has learnt to know and trust his carers. He loves his home comforts, a big cosy bed to lie in with his soft toys, and a spot where he can see what’s going on, he’s not a dog that likes to miss out! Nero can live with older children who have experience of being around large dogs as he is so fun and bouncy. He would do best to be the only pet in the home as he is an independent chap who would prefer not to share the attention with another dog in the home. Nero would love a big garden to play in, where he can run about daft and happily play fetch with his ball all day!
Zakky – 10 year old male Border Collie
Zakky is a very handsome 10 year old Border Collie currently in the care of the Dogs Trust in Glasgow. He is a sensitive soul looking for an understanding home who can be patient in letting Zakky settle into his new home. Although he is 10, age is just a number to Zakky who still has a very young, active mind. He is very intelligent and on the ball and would enjoy to be involved in training for fun when he is home.
Zakky can become worried by new situations so it is very important that his new owners let him come along slowly and build gradual relationships. If he is forced too quickly to bond with people he will become very nervous. Understandably Zakky does take time to trust people, as he has lived with one owner all his life prior to coming into rescue. But given time and patience he will make a very loving companion! Zakky really enjoys the company of other dogs and could quite happily live with other dogs in an adult only home. He is perfectly housetrained and could rest in the house alone without worry whilst you are out.

Patch – 9 year old male Cross-Breed
Patch is a lovely 9 year old cross-breed currently in the care of the Dogs Trust in Glasgow who is seeking a special home. He is a kind and gentle boy who arrived at the centre after many years in the same home. Patch’s owner passed away so unfortunately he was left without a home. On arrival to the centre it was clear that Patch’s mobility is severely restricted as he is very overweight. He needs owners dedicated to sticking to a strict diet and shedding the weight so he can become the happy and healthy dog he once was.
The most important thing for Patch is that he must loose weight! New owners must stick to a strict regime of dieting so he looses weight. Patch is very affectionate and loves to lie and get cuddles, yet equally loves to go out on his walks, the unfortunate thing being that his body can’t take him too far without causing him discomfort. However slowly over time he is getting further and further on his walks which is a great improvement. Another weight loss programme Patch is on is hydrotherapy. He has been going to a local hydrotherapy pool to go swimming! He is doing really well and looks super cute in his doggy life jacket!
