Daisy – 1 year old female Border Collie

Daisy is a beautiful and affectionate young lady. She was handed in after her owner became too ill to look after her. She loves other dogs and people, we would consider rehoming her with children over 8 years of age. Daisy is good in the car and travels well. She is also well behaved in the house and is toilet trained. She has basic obedience and has good recall.

Daisy has been vaccinated, chipped, wormed and deflead. She will need spaying after her first season and this will be part of the agreement of her adoption.

Theo – 1 year old male Lurcher

This gorgeous boy is Theo. He has come to us after being found as a stray. Theo loves company and he prefers to have someone around most of the time. We feel he would be better going to a home where there was another dog as a playmate and companion. He has come on in leaps and bounds since he has been getting lots of love and attention, but he still needs some training. He is a very accomplished theif (as most Lurchers are!) and he will pinched almost anything edible. So be prepared to guard your bacon sandwich, otherwise it will disappear in the twitch of a whisker!! He is very good on the lead and doesn’t pull. He knows a few basic commands aswell. He travels ok in the car but would rather be co-driver than sitting in the boot. Not too sure about his map reading skills though. He has been vaccinated, wormed and microchipped.

So if you love big shaggy Lurchers that are partial to your Sunday lunch, then please give us a ring.

Joshua – 10 month old male Whippet Cross

Joshua is a 10 month old Whippet cross. We were told by his previous owners that he was Whippet x Labrador, but whatever he is he is one of the nicest friendliest dogs you could ever wish to meet.

Joshua loves other dogs and he really likes playing and running around with them. He is living with a male Staffordshire bull terrier at the moment and they get on brilliantly. We don’t know what he would be like with cats, so ideally he should go to a home with no small furries. He would be ok with children over 8 years old.

Josh is fine in the car and was very well behaved at the vets too. He is housetrained and can be left for a few hours. He has been vaccinated and microchipped. He will be neutered before he goes to his new home.

Lola – 2 year old female Border Terrier cross Lakeland Terrier

Lola is a lovely little 2 year old Border Terrier cross Lakeland Terrier girl who thinks she is a lap dog! She is ultra friendly and is a busy little bee. Lola loves other dogs and people, she has lived with children too. She has previously lived in a kennel and her house training is ongoing, as she has never lived in a house before. She is an intelligent little girl so we think she will soon catch on with a routine.

Oscar – 2 year old male Doberman

Oscar’s DOB is 01.09.2009. He is a pedigree Doberman. He has been castrated and microchipped, his vaccinations are up to date. He is very good with other dogs, but likes to chase cats, bats, birds and rabbits!!! He has lived with two children (aged 7 & 8) so he is used to having kids (and their friends) around. He pulls on the lead, but is good off lead and comes back well when called. He is housetrained and responds to basic commands – but only when you have food in your hand – he will do anything for a piece of cheese! The only time he does exactly what he is told is when his food is put in front of him in his bowl, he will sit still all day until he is told otherwise.

He will chew when bored. New bedding is usually chewed within a couple of days. He will pinch socks, shoes, dishcloths etc… and happily chew them all day! We do think that his chewing is mainly due to boredom though, when his owners first got Oscar they weren’t working as many hours as they are now. He loves being with people.

Oscar does like attention and people. He was once on a walk where another dog owner described him as a “Leaner” as he had walked up to her and was happily leaning on her leg!!! He is a worktop surfer, food will disappear in the blink of an eye! He loves being warm, he will sleep all day if we have the under floor heating on and if the coal fire is lit he will not give up his spot in front of it. So it is safe to say he likes his home comforts!!

If you can give Oscar the time and love he needs then please call us.

Jake – 12 month old male Patterdale Terrier

This lovely little Patterdale terrier is our Jake! Jake is a friendly little boy who gets on well with all dogs and humans! He also enjoys meeting other dogs and people out on his walks. Jake travels well in the car.

Jake is housetrained, he does need some training on the lead and also with his basic commands. He is fine to be left for a few hours and does not chew. He adores playing and has discovered how much fun a tennis ball can be!

Jake is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.

Henry – 6 year old male Lhasa Apso

Henry came to us in a dreadful state from a dog pound. We have no background information on him as he was brought in as a stray. Henry’s coat was in a real mess and it took two of our volunteers over two hours to clip and bathe him. His nails were curling into his pads. He never once complained or tried to nip. He had an infection, which had been concealed by his matted fur, so he had to go onto antibiotics. He was also very thin, but has put nearly a kilo in weight on so far.

He has had a full dental and his teeth were so bad that several had to be extracted. One had become very infected and he has antibiotics for this. We also had him neutered and microchipped at the same time. This poor boy has really been badly neglected. He has been professionally groomed and we have done everything we can for him, he now needs someone special to finally give this little man the love and attention he deserves.

Henry adores people, other dogs and he is currently living with cats and a young boy of 3. He would easily fit into any type of house as he is such a dear little dog with no aggression in him at all. He is clean in the house and is quiet. He does bark a bit in the car but soon settles down. Henry loves going out for a walk and he enjoys meeting other dogs and people, he is just learning how to play.

More than anything he loves to be cuddled and have a knee to sleep on.

Charlie – 3 year old male English Sheepdog

Charlie is an Old English Sheepdog who is approx 3 years old. He came into our care in a terrible state, his coat was in a dirty and matted condition and he was emaciated. He had been on the run for 3 weeks and he weighed just 18.45kgs.

Charlie needs a home with people with experience of the breed and we will not consider homing him to anyone else. He is a very nervous dog and he needs a lot of time and patience. It would be best for Charlie if the new home hadn’t any children as he gets scared easily, he is not aggressive.

Charlie has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
He has lived with cats and is fine with them. If you can offer this special boy a home, then please contact us for a chat.
