Storm – 7 month old male Border Collie
Storm is a 7 month old Border collie. Storm has lived with children and another dog. We think he would be best not living with cats. He is housetrained and will ask to go out. Storm is happy to be left in his crate during the night and also for a few hours during the day. He travels well in the car.
Storm is looking for a home with active people, who have the time and energy to carry on with his training. He would probably do very well at agility or obedience.
Storm has a very typical collie trait of wanting to chase cars and care must be taken when he is out. He can be let of the lead in open spaces though. He has been vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and is wormed and deflead up to date.
6Jan2011 | Four Paws Pet Rescue Cumbria | READ MORELewis – 4 1/2 month old male Border Collie
Lewis was found abandoned behind a dustbin in all the snow we have had. He had been out all night in the freezing cold. The vet has aged him at 4 1/2 months, so he is still very much a baby.
Lewis is a lovely little boy who is very affectionate. He needs training and would benefit from training classes. These would also help him to socialise. He does like other dogs and loved playing with the other puppies. He just needs a bit more confidence with people and other dogs.
He was fine with my cats and never bothered them in the house, in the garden he wanted to play with them! He is clean and quiet when he is left overnight, and can be left for short times in his crate. He is also quiet and travels well in the car.
Lewis needs a home where he will get plenty of exercise and stimulation. We would like him to go to a home with children of 10 or older. Lewis is vaccinated, microchipped and wormed and deflead to date.
6Jan2011 | Four Paws Pet Rescue Cumbria | READ MOREIslay – 7 month old female Lurcher
Islay is a beautiful brindle Lurcher. She was born on the 26th of June, so is still very much a puppy. She has a lot of learning to do and we are hoping to find someone with the time and patience to do this.
She stands 24″ TTS.
Islay does know some basic commands, she has now been house-trained, but a new owner must expect a few mishaps as she gets used to a new routine etc, as it is still very new to her. She is wary of new people, but it takes her about five minutes and then she will be kissing you all over!!
Her recall is non existent, but she will respond when she is in the garden to the magic word ‘bic-bic’!!! This would form the basis of her training when out in the wide world, she just needs a bit of practice. We walk Islay on a Halti headcollar as she is quite strong without it, but she walks very well with it on. She does sit and she will stay when her dinner is placed before her. She is very good in the car and settles down.
Islay adores other dogs and we feel she would benefit from having another dog as company. She could also live with a confident cat, she wants to play with ours. She has also lived with children. She is a superb work-top surfer and you will leave your roast dinner out at your peril!

Islay is a lovely dog and she just deserves a second chance to prove it. She has been vaccinated, wormed, deflead and microchipped. She will need spaying after her first season.
4Jan2011 | Four Paws Pet Rescue Cumbria | READ MORESkye – 8 month old female Collie
Skye is approx 8 months old. She is a lively friendly girl who has minimal training. She will need to go to training classes and she would excel at Agility and ideally we would like this kind of home for this girl. She has both the collie brain and stamina for it.
Skye is great with other dogs and loves to play. We don’t know what she is like with cats. Skye is house-trained. She has been vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and deflead. She will need spaying when she is old enough and we require proof that this has been carried out.
Sidney – 4 year old male Jack Russell Terrier
Sidney is a four year old Jack Russell. He is a friendly boy who loves people. He does NOT like other dogs, but we are hoping that he may improve now he has been neutered. He is house-trained and is also fine in a car. Sidney has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
Robbie – 6-7 year old male Patterdale Terrier
Robbie is a 6/7 year old Patterdale terrier. He is a nice quiet steady boy who would suit a retired or older person. He is excellent on the lead, does not pull and has good recall when off the lead. He gets on with female dogs and has lived with cats. He is fine to be left for a few hours and is clean and non destructive when left.
Robbie is brilliant in the car and quickly settles down for the journey. Robbie has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, deflead and has had a dental.
This lovely fella has not had the best life so far and we would love a decent kind home for his old age.
Harris – 10 month old Tibetan Terrier cross Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier
Harris is a lovely young 10 month old Tibetan Terrier cross Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier boy who has oodles of energy. He needs someone with patience and the energy to train and exercise him. He is still a puppy and he does need some work on his walking on the lead etc etc. We think he would be best in a home with older children and no cats. He adores other dogs and just wants to play all day.
Harris is clean in the house and he is used to being left for short periods of time in his crate. Ideally someone should be at home most of the time as he is too young to be left for a long time. His coat will need frequent grooming and also the odd visit to the hairdressers for a cut and blow dry to keep him looking so handsome. He has been wormed, deflead, vaccinated and microchipped.
5Nov2010 | Four Paws Pet Rescue Cumbria | READ MORERusty – 9 month old male Terrier cross Jack Russell Terrier
This lovely little boy is the fabulous Rusty. Rusty came to us after he was abandoned and he had finished his seven days in the dog pound. He is a very lively dog and we are looking for an equally lively and outgoing family for him. We feel he would be better suited to live with children over ten. He could easily knock a younger child over. He is a very affectionate dog and likes to sit on your lap for a cuddle.
Rusty will need some ongoing training. He sometimes has the occasional accident inside, but this has improved with a routine and he is still only a puppy. Rusty is a bit unsure in the car and would probably travel better in a crate. If you have the time, energy, patience and love to give this boy then please call us.

*November Update*
Rusty has progressed very well in his foster home and he is now fully house-trained and much better in the car. He is such a loving little dog and will provide someone with endless amusement. We think he would do very well at agility or possibly as a running/fell walking companion.
We think he could be part fox!!! Well where else did those ears come from?
Charlie – 1 year old male English Cocker Spaniel
Charlie is a one year old golden Cocker Spaniel. He is a lively and energetic boy and he will need someone with the time to spend on exercising and training him. He does know sit, but he pulls on the lead and a Halti may be beneficial to help with this.
Charlie is house-trained and okay to be left for a few hours. He has lived with children over 8 years of age and also a cat. He gets on well with other dogs. Charlie travels well in the car. He is vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and deflead. He is a nice friendly boy who will be a great friend and companion for someone.
Angus – 10 month old male Lurcher
Angus is a ten month old rough haired Lurcher. This boy is a wonderful dog, he is friendly, affectionate and gets on well with other dogs and also with older children. He is good on the lead, clean in the house and travels well in the car. Angus is microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and deflead.
