Monty – 9 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Monty is a 9 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who came to the rescue as his owners had got a new puppy and didn’t want him anymore. He is a fantastic little guy who loves to be with people and always greets you with a waggy tail! Monty is a well behaved, well mannered boy. He loves to sit on his arm chair in his kennel and have a snooze or watch the comings and goings of the staff. He is a hit with the dog walkers as he is so lovely to walk, he doesn’t pull on the lead and is always happy to see everyone. Monty is such a nice dog, he will make a brilliant companion.

Tilly – 2 year old female Shar-Pei

Tilly is a 2 year old Shar Pei who is a beautiful girl and one of the kennel staff’s favourites! Sadly for Tilly she has been shoved from piller to post in her 2 years of life. She now needs to find a mum and dad that will love her and commit to her forever. Tilly can be very shy when meeting strangers. Like most Shar Pei’s she can be very hand shy upon meeting new people, but please don’t let this put you off! Tilly only needs to meet somebody a few times before her adorable personality comes out and she’ll lick you all over!

http://www.imagepuppy.com/shared/11ac58d3ed91fa2b3b74b98ed06cb837.JPG

She is such a loyal little girl, once she knows you she is your best friend, and is one of the most affectionate dogs we have. As she is shy to begin with we would like an adult only home for her. She doesn’t like other dogs as she was not socialised as a young girl, unfortunately her previous owner didn’t walk her so strictly speaking it is not Tilly’s fault she doesnt like other dogs! We urge people not to be put off by this as Tilly will make the most wonderful companion, she just needs to be walked at quiet times or in quiet areas.

Tilly has not had the best start in life so please give her the chance she deserves! If you think you can offer Tilly a loving home please contact Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool on 0151 931 1604.

Benji – 2 year old male Shar-Pei Cross

Benji is a 2 year old Shar Pei cross who came to the rescue after nipping the child he lived with. The child was playing on a trampoline whilst throwing a ball and Benji got somewhat over excited in this chaotic situation. Benji took a while to settle into the rescue. We find Shar Pei types struggle in kennels to begin with as they don’t like change. Once Benji had settled we saw a massive change in his personality. He went from an unsure, nervous dog to a lively, affectionate boy. After several months he decided he loved toys and now bounces around our field with his ball, play bowing at us and asking for a cuddle on the bench.

http://www.imagepuppy.com/resized/a3537b1e055389a5371856a92dbf7d5f.JPG

Benji is fine with other dogs and did live with a cat in his previous home. As with most Shar Pei types he can be hand shy to begin with and will take a little time to get to know a potential new home. With a few walks and treats he can get to know people. We would like an adult only home for Benji, somebody patient and commited to spending a little time getting to know him. Now he is settled the kennel staff can see what a great dog he is and he has the potential to make a wonderful friend for the right home. If you feel you could offer Benji a loving home please contact Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool on 0151 931 1604.

Sassie – 8 year old female Cross-Breed

Sassie is an 8 year old cross breed (Labrador size) who was found walking the streets as a stray and was never claimed. She’s a lovely, friendly girl with bags of character who will make someone a great friend! She is a well behaved dog and she seems quite placid. Sassie loves her walks, but is a bit of a plodder, after 20 mins to half an hour she is happy to go home. Sassie loves running onto our field with her tennis ball and then rolling on her back on top of it!

Sassie is good with other dogs but doesn’t like cats. Sassie would be ideal for a retired person who wants a gentle, good dog for company. We think that Sassie would fit into most homes with ease. Sassie is fully vaccinated, chipped and spayed.

If you think you could offer Sassie a loving home please contact Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool on 0151 931 1604.

Lexi and Lou – 4-7 year old female Rottweilers

Lexi and Lou are 7 and 4 year old Rottweilers. They came into the rescue as their owner was emigrating and couldn’t have them anymore. They are such beautiful, big girls. They were both a little underweight and had dull coats when they came to us, but after some TLC they are bonny, glossy girls now! They are always making the kennel staff smile with their cheeky ways! Lexi and Lou are both big food lovers and they hit you with their paws to tell you they want a treat! They love being stroked and having a fuss made of them and enjoy their walks.

Everyone loves Lexi and Lou, they are favourites with the staff and dog walkers alike. Although their previous home had children, they lived outside, so we would prefer no young children for their new home. They are both such nice girls and are so deserving of a new home. They are both fully vaccinated, chipped and spayed.

If you think you could offer Lexi and Lou a loving home please contact Freshfields animal rescue on 0151 931 1604.
