Alfie - 10 month old male Japanese Akita Cross
This is Alfie, a young 10 month old Japanese Akita cross who was picked up by the dog warden near Leeds. He is currently in a foster home in Swindon, however this is a short term arrangement, and Alfie needs a new home as soon as possible.

Alfie gets on with other dogs, cats and children, he is a loving boy who will be a treasured member of his new family. For more information and photographs, please see our forum.
Alfie and Lexie - 4-6 year old male and female Japanese Akitas
Alfie is a 4 year old male and Lexy is a 6 year old female Japanese Akitas. They came into rescue because their ex owners were moving home and decided they no longer had space for them. They both have fantastic natures, they have both lived with kids but due to their size we shall only consider homes with older children.

They have always been together and they are inseperable so their new forever home must have space for both of them. They will go to their new home, vaccinated, neutered and micro chipped. If these pair are the dogs for you, please contact us.
Bonnie - 10-11 month old female Japanese Akita
This beautiful girl is Bonnie, looking for a new home due to the ever-growing family she is currently in. Bonnie currently lives in a family with five children between the ages of 10 months and 11 years, and currently receives very little attention. Our assessor describes Bonnie as an “incredibly tolerant” girl, calm and quite relaxed, she likes to have her tummy tickled. She has received some training, and knows the “sit” and “down” comands.

Bonnie is dog aggressive, and so will need to be the only dog in her new home, and whilst she has lived with children, any potential adopters with children will need to demonstrate that they have properly educated their kids to respect and treat dogs properly.
Duchess - 9 year old female Japanese Akita
Duchess is a Japanese Akita female at grand old age of 9 years old, she is currently in the pound and her 7 days are up on Friday 24th October 2008 in a dog pound in Derbyshire. Her owners got a new puppy and sadly handed her into the local vets as a stray and from there she ended up on death row.

Poor Duchess was not rewarded for being a loyal friend all her days, she’s been sadly let down in her time of need. She has passed a temperament assessment with flying colours, she is friendly, loving and obedient and will make an ideal family pet. Please can you help us to save this old girl and allow her to retire by the fire like she deserves? We are looking for a foster home until a forever home comes along.

This is Jacko, an 8 month old long coated Japanese Akita boy, who is looking for a new home. A loving and friendly boy, Jacko is understandably going through his “adolescent” period, and is trying to be dominant - his present owners unfortuntely do not know how to deal with this, being new to the breed and also having only owned Jacko for six weeks.

Jacko’s new owner will need to be a strong and consistent pack leader, to get him through this period! I’m sure you’ll agree that he is a handsome lad, if you feel that you may be the family for Jacko, please get in touch for further information.

This is Eddy, picked up as a stray in the Burton area. Assessed by our representative, Eddy is described as a lovely young boy aged approximately 18 months old, he walks well on the lead and likes to meet new people.

When walking past other dogs in kennels, Eddy seemed interested, but more in a playful manner than anything else! Eddy is clean and non destructive in his kennel. As a stray we do not have background on Eddy, as such he will not be placed in a family with young children.

George is a more mature Japanese Akita gentleman of approximately 8 years. He was found tied up outside the pound in freezing cold February but is now in boarding kennels where he has proved himself to be a lovely boy. It appears that George has been beaten in the past as he shys away from sudden movement. George is a clever boy and is very easy to train.
He is very good on a lead, is house trained and loves people. George has been placed in one home, which unfortunately did not work out, it was discovered during this time that Geore sufferes from separation anxiety, possibly due to his life so far.

George would be best suited to a home where he is the only pet, and where his owners will have the time, dedication and love to work with him. For further information and photographs, please see our forum.

Bear (ref 97) is a lovely Japanese Akita dog aged approximately 4 years old. He has no problems with his food. He is very loving, pulls a bit on the lead but with a bit of training this will be easily rectified, he knows basic commands and he will sit and take food from your hand gently.

Bear also loves to play football - as you can see in this video clip below!
He loves people and being fussed. If he is the boy for you, please contact us.

Barney is a laid back 7 year old male Japanese Akita, looking for a new home - his owners have moved away and were unable to take him. He is in a short term foster home at present, where he is winning hearts! Barney is a lovely boy, who adores people, including children.

He has lived with a female dog in the past, and could potentially live with the right girl, subject to satisfactory introductions.

Mheisa is a fantastic 3 year old Japanese Akita female. She is being rehomed through no fault of her own, her current owner is devastated at the prospect of giving her up but knows this is the best option for his girl.

She adores people and loves to be outdoors, she gets on fantastic with kids and enjoys to play. She currently lives with a male but we would prefer she goes to a home without any other animals. She will make a devoted and loyal companion, if you can give this girl a forever home please contact us.
