Monty – 10 year old male German Shepherd Dog

Monty is an older male German Shepherd Dog, it is unknown how old he is but we would think he is about 10 years old. He came to us from a council pound in an awful condition. He was suffering from bad Kennel Cough, a nasty Ear Infection as well as problems toileting. These problems have been seen to by the vet and he has had medication for them and has recovered well. Monty has also not been fed well or excercised well in a very long time. He is not very strong on his back legs but the muscles are gradually and will need to continue being built up.

After all he has been through in the last couple of weeks or so he has remained a complete gentleman being good with everyone and everything he meets. He is good with people of all ages however due to his age we wouldnt want him to be around toddlers. He is also good with dogs and is in foster with both a male and female dog. He has met horses and didnt seem too bothered as well as cats – interested but friendly.

Monty now deserves his final home so he can curl up in front of a nice fireplace on these colder evenings. Although he is happy in his foster home he deserves a home of his own and not to be stuck in rescue.

We feel Monty may be best suited in a foster home as a sponsored dog, if you feel you can offer him this, please contact GSD Lifeline today.

Steffi and Misha – 3 and 4 year old female German Shepherd Dogs

Steffi is just over 4 years old and Misha is 3 years old and thye are both black German Shepherd Dogs. The owner has had them both from pups and they have been part of the household since. They are still with their owner in South West London. They are both all black, Steffi is short-coated and Misha is long-coated.

Vaccinations are up-to-date, and both are microchipped and spayed. They are both well trained and very responsive to commands (and food!).They are wonderful dogs, very intelligent, well trained and obedient. Steffi loves nothing more than running after balls, while Misha is the world’s largest lap dog and always up for a cuddle. We are hoping for Steffi and Misha to be rehomed together although we will consider rehoming separately.

Riley – 6-8 month old male Siberian Husky cross German Shepherd Dog

Riley is a 6-8 month old Siberian Husky cross German Shepherd Dog – more Husky though. Riley is a lovely natured boy. He is good with dogs, people and children. Amazing how trusting he can be when he was shut out in a yard in North West London for the first 6 months of his life.

He gets anxious when left and I expect would chew. We are working on this. He is a vocal dog and often chatters and sings to you. His owners were going to, in their words, “kill him” as he was noisy in the yard! He has just started his vaccinations again as we have no history of this. He has been wormed and deflead.

He is currently in a foster home in the Midlands.

Rosie – 10 month old female German Shepherd Dog

Rosie is a lovely 10 month old German Shepherd Dog who is very friendly and bright, she enjoys chasing a frisbee and comes back fairly well when called. She gets on well with other dogs and people.

Rosie is a nervous dog at times and she is particularly frightened of fast moving bicycles and cars. She will need some guidance and training to over come this nervousness.

Rosie needs lots of exercise and much more training as she has not had much at all up to this date. She has had all her jabs, and is spayed and microchipped. Rosie is in Wiltshire.

Darwin – 8 month old male German Shepherd Cross

Darwin is an 8 month old German Shepherd cross. He is the most loving, friendly and loyal pup I have known. He has a big heart which has enough love to share round the whole family and you just can’t help but smile at him and give him big cuddles (and of course the obligatory belly rub!).

He is good with dogs and children but is very bouncy and playful and he does jump up at people. Out and about Darwin can pull on the lead but after a good run he calms down and will walk to heel with loose lead. He has good recall and will happily fetch and retrieve toys, tennis balls etc. Darwin is very fast and whilst in ‘run’ mode he sometimes forgets how to stop and can be a bit clumsy (the stop barrier could be your leg). This is getting less frequent as he learns to cope with and control his growing legs.

Cats – not sure but he didn’t react to one that crossed his path slowly the other week. However if it had of ran, he may have wanted to chase but I don’t think he would intend to harm. Darwin’s worst bad habit is that he will steal food if he sees the opportunity, this he often sees before you’ve realised. If you catch him in the act or just before, he will respond to ‘down’ or ‘leave’ commands.

Darwin will need to continue his training and we expect any new owner to enroll in training classes. Is neutered, microchipped, vaccinations, flea treatment and worming are up to date.

Misty – 7 year old female German Shepherd Dog

Misty is a 7 year old female German Shepherd Dog. She has a very loving nature and she has been bought up in a home with cats and paid little to no attention to them. She has no problem with young children as she has been bought with them since she was a puppy. She is very good at traveling in a car. She has recently been vaccinated, wormed and de-flead.

She loves running around the park and always comes back when called unless there are other dogs around. She needs to learn some better social skills with other dogs as has never had much experience of them. Some times she’ll charge over barking then other times be fine. She has never however attacked another dog. She is living with her owner’s brother in Verwood,  Dorset not far from Bournemouth.
