Bigley – 14 month old male German Shepherd cross Alaskan Malamute
Bigley is a 14 month old German Shepherd cross Alaskan Malamute (his mum was the GSD and dad the Malamute). He is a good looking boy and a lovely temperament however can be wary of new people but has never been aggressive. He is a lovely boy and likes to play. He was well socialised as a puppy with dogs and people. Due to his size and age however we will not home him with toddlers or babies.
He currently lives with his brother Chase and his mum. Bigley has recently had his booster and annual vet check and has a clean bill of health. He is a bright dog but does need further training from an experienced owner. His recall is reasonable but will need further work and pulls on the lead. House trained and calm in the house and can be left for short periods of time.
Bigley will be neutered, vaccinated and chipped before going to a new home.

Tammy is a German Shepherd girl aged approximately 8-10 months old and arrived from Ireland in February. She was at risk of being put to sleep but thanks to Martina and co at Dogs Life she was taken out of the pound and made safe till she could travel over. She is good with other dogs and such a sweet heart but very worried at the moment with all the changes in her life. She is currently in a foster home in Wiltshire with 4 other dogs.

Update: Sadly Tammy has taken a downward turn and has become very ill and was in the vets this morning for a few hours. There were major concerns as extremely lethargic, not eating or drinking and very unresponsive to anything. She had feaces and blood tests. She came back all clear from Parvo or Lepto but does have a very weak immune system, low protein level and very aneamic. She is on medication for the next week or so and hopefully that along with good food and love from her foster family she will pick up and improve soon. Fingers crossed!!
Her vet bill for just today was £158-72. We hope that she will not need any more medical care for her illness but still is due to be vaccinated and spayed.
Update 03/03/11 – Tammy has now fully recovered from her illness that she suffered from in February. She has now been spayed and will be vaccinated and microchipped shortly. She is still a little timid but getting so much better and enjoys the company of other dogs and people. She really is a fabulous dog who deserves the best home possible and we will be very strict where we rehome her.

Kyuss is a 2 year old Alaskan Malamute and is a lovely boy. He is very cuddly and obviously been loved very much, he shows no aggression at all with either other dogs or people though we have not tested him with cats it would prob be better if he didnt live with a cat as Malamutes do have a natural high prey drive. He is very big and powerful, on his back legs he is as tall the assessor (5″7inches) and losing his winter coat at the moment.
He needs to be with someone who really knows what he needs, especially in terms of an exercise regime. He is good with children but due to his size we will not rehome him where there are kids under about 10. He also knows some commands and in an enclosed area his recall seems good however he has not been tested in a less secure area/park. Kyuss is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Tara – 2 1/2 year old female German Shepherd Dog
Tara is a lovely 2 1/2 year old female German Shepherd Dog. She used to live with a male collie and two cats and got on fine with all. She is also used to children however due to her bouncy nature we will not home her where this is young children.
Unfortunately her owner is very ill and she was not able to walk Tara anymore and so Tara was not getting the exercise and stimulation she needs. The owner and her daughter felt it is only fair on Tara to find her a new home. She is vaccinated and neutered and has also been de-flead and wormed.
Tara is a young dog who will be easy to do the training with and she has a lovely temperament. She just needs a new home as the owners sister is moving soon and Tara will not get any exercise at all then.
Max – 18 month old male Border Collie
Max is a Collie aged 18 months old who was originally helped by GSD Lifeline as he and his brother Ben were living 23 hours a day in a crate in their own mess. They came to us at about 6-7 months old and after some TLC and training they went to a new home last April.
Unfortunately Max is having to come back into us as his owner has sustained a bad shoulder injury and is unable to continue the exercise etc that Max needs.

Max is a wonderfully friendly dog. He loves to play with all dogs and is quick to learn. He loves his toys and is also crate trained and is happy to take himself into his crate when he is sleepy or is happy to sleep on the floor.
Max is very good with all people and dogs but would chase cats although I am pretty sure he would be easily trainable to allow him to live with them.
He does pull on the lead which needs some work but apart from that he is a fantastic dog. He would suit an obedience/agility home so if you know of anyone looking for a young collie to work with please pass on his details. Max is neutered, fully vaccinated and has been regularly wormed and de-flead etc.
21Feb2011 | GSD Lifeline | READ MOREDylan – 10 year old male German Shepherd Dog
Dylan is a German Shepherd Dog aged approximately 10 years old. Sadly Dylan is looking for a new home at this stage in his life as his owner has to unavoidably move abroad shortly. Dylan’s owner has had him for approximately 7 years and at that time he rescued Dylan from a small enclosure in a yard where he was kept as a security dog.

He was clearly unhappy and stressed as he would do circuits of his small enclosure and stop and look from the same spot everytime. His owner states he was a useless guard and security dog as all he wanted was fuss and attention and to play.
His owner is devastated to have to let him go but has asked us to find him his final retirement home. He is entire, fully vaccinated and he is even vaccinated for rabies and has a passport. He is also microchipped. Dylan has not had to be on a lead very often so is not really used to it but doesn’t pull badly.

Dylan is a good sociable animal and is happy to socialise in the park or fields with other dogs and does not fight or cause any problems. He will try to chase cats a little. He loves stick and ball games and retrieves naturally. His owner has been feeding Dylan Burns chicken/rice which he gets on with and twice per day after walking morning and evening. Dylan will growl protectively slightly when eating and his owner has fed him somewhere quiet so he can enjoy his food in peace.
Dylan does have arthritis but to be expected at his age. But however he still is able to enjoy his walks and run after balls etc. He is currently on 25 mg carprofen with his morning feed. This works out at about 15p a day!! He normally gets a walk of an hour in the morning and 30 mins at night. In the warmer months his owner allows Dylan to have short swims but not in the colder months. Dylan loves his swimming.
His owner has agreed to provide the new owner with a substantial amount of medication for Dylan’s arthritus so a new owner would not have to worry about that for a long time.
GSD Lifeline will also not be asking for a set adoption fee for Dylan as a good final retirement home is of course far more important.

Mouse is a 7 month old German Shepherd cross Utonagan puppie. Her mum was a GSD and dad the Utonagan. She is a lovely dog and after initial nerves comes round and enjoys a fuss and a cuddle. She is a lovely dog who will be quick to learn new things and will enjoy training to learn commands. Currently recall is non existant so will need some work before allowing her to be let off lead.
