Lillie – 5 month old female Whippet

Lillie came to us recently from the stray pound with her Sister Pickle. They are fabulous little girls around 5mnths old, really cheeky and sweet and very clever.
Lillie *DEFINITELY* needs to be rehomed with another dog. She is good with dogs, children and cat’s and needs a home due to her young age with someone around all of the time. Lillie only moved into foster yesterday but is taking the lead from the other dog in the foster home and is already doing well with house training etc.

Lillie has had her first vaccination and kennel cough vaccination and will have her second vaccinations before leaving for a new home. She has also been treated for parasites and is microchipped. As Lillie is currently too young to be spayed anyone wanting to offer this girl a home will need to sign a contract agreeing to have her spayed by the time she is 8mnths old and proof by means of veterinary letter WILL be required back to the rescue.

Ziggy – 2 year old male Bedlington Terrier

Beautiful Ziggy landed with us recently from a stray pound environment and is such a sweet loving boy. He is fabulous with all the people and children at the kennels, gets on well with all the dogs but when cat tested was very interested in chasing. More in a naughty inquisitive way but we would prefer to rehome him without cats. Out and about on lead Ziggy walks well, he travelled from the pound well also in the van and is well behaved and relatively clean in kennels.

Ziggy’s ideal home would be with another dog for company or if he were to be an only dog he would need someone around all or most of the time especially in the beginning whilst he settled in. Ziggy is vaccinated, kennel cough vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and due to be castrated before rehoming.

Cas – 3 year old female Lurcher

Cas came to us recently as an unclaimed stray from the local pound. This beautiful girl is quite a stunner and a very large hefty strong lass. Cas we feel is definitely an unclaimed working dog. She is very keen with cats and needs alot of socialisation around smaller breeds of dogs. That said though and although a big powerful girl, she is incredibly loving and fabulous with all the other hounds at the kennels. We feel that Cas will settle down easily into a home environment and make a wonderful addition to any family. As she is a big girl a home with older dog savvy children 10 plus would be best. Cas travels well and out and about on walks she is a very strong girl but is very responsive to commands so needs someone willing to be firm but fair with her. Her ideal home would be with someone who has experience of larger but very pretty lurcher dogs in the past. This girl with time and patience has the capabilities to be the most wonderful hound and I really hope someone sees past her size and offers her a home. Cas is vaccinated, kennel cough vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and will be spayed before rehoming.

Trevor – 6 year old male Lurcher

Trevor came to us recently from a stray pound and although microchipped and the owners were attempted to be contacted they never came back. We can not understand why as he is the most fabulous boy you could wish to meet. The microchip details say that Trevor is meant to be an astonishing 12 years old BUT again this is something we can not and do not believe as he looks and acts much younger.

Trevor is a true gentleman of the hound world, well mannered but cheeky and quirky and very very playful. He is in foster care currently with 4 older greyhounds who he gets on well with and one younger greyhound who he plays like a madman with.

We feel Trevor would love a home with other dogs and preferably with one younger female who would happily play the day away with him. He travels well, walks well on lead, is housetrained, good to be left, loves children and all in all is just a fabulous dog to have around. He is NOT cat friendly though and has to be watched on walks with squirrels as he can be a little excitable.

There is not much more we can say about this fantastic dog, apart from he is stunningly handsome and everywhere he goes people fall head over heels in love with this lad.

Trevor is currently in foster in Derbyshire and is vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and is castrated.

For more information or to offer Trevor a home in the first instance please complete the pre adoption form below…

Babe – 5 year old female Greyhound

Beautiful Babe is a 5 year old greyhound girl who is currently in foster with another female and a male greyhound. She gets on well with both dogs. Babe is a real cheeky, happy go lucky girl with quite a personality. As with all greyhounds recently retired from the track Babe will need some continued socialisation with other breeds of dogs. In the main she walks well on lead but will prick her ears and stare if she see dogs and cats out and about. She is NOT CAT FRIENDLY.

Babe is clean in the house, travels well and fine to be left. She will be fine to be rehomed as an only dog if someone takes the time to settle her in to begin with and would also happily co exist with other sighthounds or medium to large other breeds. Babe will be fine to be rehomed with dog savy children 5 plus.

Babe is vaccinated, kennel cough vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and spayed.

If you are interested in offering Babe a home in the first instance please take the time to fill in the pre adoption questionnaire below….

Dulcie – 2 year old female Greyhound

Dulcie is currently in foster alongside other Greyhounds and doing very well. She is very small for a Greyhound bitch and is very sweet and loving. Although smaller Dulcie does have a lot of energy – well a lot more than is typical for the breed and is a bit of a minx. Out and about on lead Dulcie can be reactive at times however being small this is quite easy to manage and she does react to a firm no. Dulcie is definitely the sort of dog that needs consistency and will need continued work with socialisation although her foster Mum is VERY greyhound experienced and is working hard with this.

In the house Dulcie can get up to mischief and you have to watch her with the TV as she can be quite stimulated by animals that she sees on there and again a firm NO stops this. She is a happy-go-lucky girl who loves people but we feel that a home with older children 10 plus would be best. Dulcie is happy to co-exist with other greyhounds but we do know she would be fine to be an only dog with someone around all or most of the time to settle her to begin with. We do feel though she would benefit having someone around most of the time to continue bringing her forward. She is good to be left, clean and also crate trained and does like to use her crate.

Dulcie is NOT cat friendly and has to be watched around little dogs. If co-existing with another dog she would much prefer it to be another greyhound.

Dulcie is vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and spayed.

For more information or to offer Dulcie a home in the first instance we ask that you complete the pre adoption questionnaire below and we will get back to you.

Barney – 18 month old male Whippet

Barney is an 18mnth old whippet boy who recently came into our care due to a change in his owners circumstances. Luckily his foster carer, who lives near the owners, was able to offer him a space and he is now living with 3 other whippets, a whippet cross and a bedlington plus cats. He is getting on well with them all. At the moment Barney is settling in nicely. He is a little confused as he has been with his owners from a pup but this will soon pass.

Barney is a sweet little lad but quite tall for a whippet. When you have Barney’s trust he is lovely but at first can be a little wary of strangers and to begin with does not like overt displays of affection and cuddles. This is all though due to a new environment and will settle in time.

Barney’s ideal home would be with the company of another dog and someone around most of the time to help him settle. In his old home he was in the house at night but outside during the day, this means he is getting a little pacey and whiney whilst left now he is indoors and will take time to settle. Barney is good with children and has lived with them but due to his slightly nervy wary attention whilst getting to know you we feel older children 10 plus would be best so they understand to leave him in peace.

Barney is vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and neutered.

If you are interested in offering Barney a home in the first instance please complete the pre adoption questionnaire below.

Bullseye – 15 month old male Whippet cross English Bull Terrier

We all love this little man ALOT. He is a wonderful cheeky character only tiny but as well as having the whippet ways he also has EBT cheek and character and is such a big softy! Bullseye will either need a home with other dogs or with someone around all the time especially in the beginning to spend time with him settling him in. He has been brilliant with all the other dogs at the kennels and seems to like their company. Although Bullseye met the kennel cats and did no harm you could see the typical cheeky nature of inquisitiveness and we do feel if given the chance he would chase so would be best homed without them.

Out and about on lead Bullseye likes to try to pull, although it does not get him far as he is so small but does need someone to teach him nice leash manners. He is relatively clean and settled in his kennel but being so young will need a little help with housetraining. Bullseye also travels well.

We feel that Bullseye would love an active family home and would be best suited to a home with dog savvy children 6 plus.

This wonderful little man really is handsome and such a heart stealer. The photo does not show just what a well put together little dog this boy is!

Bullseye is currently in the kennels in the North Midlands and is vaccinated, treated for parasites, kennel cough vaccinated, microchipped and is due to be neutered.

If you are interested in offering Bullseye a home in the first instance please fill in the pre adoption questionnaire below…

Marco – 4 year old male Lucher

Marco came to us a little while ago from a stray pound situation. This silly cheeky lad is so handsome. When he first arrived Marco was not comfortable around the other dogs but after castration and some time to settle he is now much better. We do feel though that if Marco were to share his home with another dog it would need to be female and quite a calm girl.

Out on the kennels walks Marco adores the volunteers and is fabulous with the children, we do feel children may need to be slightly older 6 plus as when first heading out he likes to have a bounce, spin and playbow. We can imagine in a home that Marco could turn into quite a cheeky player.

Marco does have the potential to be an only dog BUT he also has the potential to get VERY attached to his new family. We feel it’s imperative that if he went as an only dog someone would be around for the first couple of weeks to work with us to help us settle him down and get him use to being left gradually.

Marco has had two initial cat tests both good where he ignored the cat. However this will be repeated now as he has had time to build up his weight, gain in confidence so needs re checking.

Marco walks well on the lead, travels well and is good in his kennel, keeping it relatively clean so although he may need a little work with housetraining to begin with we do think he will quickly get the hang of it.

It would be advisable to take Marco to some basic training classes to help get him use to being around other dogs and make sure that he continues to build his confidence with them.

Marco is vaccinated, kennel cough vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and neutered.

For more information or to offer the stunning Marco a home please in the first instance take the time to fill out the pre adoption questionnaire below…

Dino – 18 month old male Lurcher

These pictures don’t really do Dino justice as they were taken the day he landed from the pound. He has gained so much weight and condition since these were taken and he looks so beautiful now. Dino is one of the firm favourites at the kennels. He is a really soppy loving hound and gets on well with all the other dogs and adores the walkers and children.

Out and about on the kennels walks he is quite excitable when he first comes out of his kennels and walks and barks for the first couple of minutes because he wants to be at the front of the pack but soon settles down and is very attentive to commands. When dogs on the walk lunge at their gates and bark at the kennels dogs Dino does not join in with the ones who react.

Dino is just a young lad and will need a home either with companion dogs or with someone around all of the time in the beginning to settle him as an only dog. Dino has now had four cat tests with the kennels cats and takes no notice of them, the most he has done is sniff their bum which earned him an attempted smack across the nose. This made him back up instantly. That said, if in a home environment the cats run he may attempt to chase so someone needs to be willing to put the work in to settling him down and getting Dino and the cats comfortable with each other.

Dino keeps his kennel relatively clean so although there may be a little housetraining work to begin with we think he will pick it up quickly and may surprise us by how clean he is when he first goes into a home. He settles well in his kennel and loves his toys and we all just enjoy spending time with this boy.

Dino will probably need some basic socialisation out and about and training classes may be a good idea to consider.

Dino is vaccinated, kennel cough vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and neutered.

If you are interested in offering Dino a home please in the first instance fill in the pre adoption questionnaire below
