Wotsit – 2-3 year old female Lurcher
Wotsit – we know its a silly name! is a lovely girl who arrived in rescue last year pregnant. Her three pups are now heading off to start their lives and so the time has come for Wotsit to get the life she deserves. Wotsit is a small lurcher, poss whippet collie cross she has a lovely nature and is a bright responsive dog.
Wotsit has met our cat a couple of times and shows great potential.. here is what Gulie, our cat tester says! …Wotsit’s a lovely little lady. She very quickly was giving me eye contact and had her eye on me all the time. She’s affectionate, loving her head and ears fussed, playful – she wanted to bounce about.

It was obvious she wasn’t at ease at home, it all being so new and was the usual very new foster busy busy. She does cry to ask to go out bless her. Very food oriented which good for training. Her interest in Arwen (cat) was easily redirected to me and if food rewarded then that was where her interest remained. She met Arwen in the front room at different levels, in the kitchen and saw her on the stairs and was easily redirected not to follow. Each time I tugged the lead with an ’agh’ she looked at me.
Wotsit is looking for an owner to take her on and help her become a pet, until now we do not think she has lived in a home but she has certainly had love and kindness from people because she really loves you!
Wotsit is happy and confident with other dogs but could probably live alone… though as an only dog we do think she will need more help to settle when left.
Please get in touch to offer Wotsit a home.

Gypsy and Colin are two beautiful little whippet cross’s who came to us a couple of months ago. They have been living happily in foster since arriving and are very much attached and dependable on each other so really must find a home together.
Gypsy and Colin came to us from a home where they lived with children but unfortunately the youngest was allergic and that is why they had to be rehomed… they now live in foster with other dogs, mixed breeds, and get along just fine.
They are looking for a loving home – together!- where they can run and play and be adored as the beautiful dogs they are.

2Mar2012 | Greyhound Rescue West of England | READ MOREFlicka – 4-5 year old female Lurcher
Flicka is an adorable bull cross lurcher girl who is living in foster but really wants to find her own family to adore her. Flicka is the model dog, she has lived happily in foster with a poodle, a bichon and a JRT. She is currently living VERY happily with a spaniel and another lurcher….. the fostermum reports that she hardly knows Flicka is there! Flicka is clean and quiet and a pleasure to live with.

Flicka is about 4 – 5 years old and loves her toys, she is obedient and wants to please – she will be a very rewarding girl to own. Please get in touch if you are looking for a good all round family pet.
update from foster home….
Flicka is an affectionate and playful dog whose one less desirable trait is barking in play!! She is however coming across as highly trainable as she can do a sit, a down and her recall in the garden is really good. With training Im sure she would learn not to bark when playing… she could also do with some tweaking to walk nicely on the lead – but is perfectly manageable in a headcollar.

Flicka is a delightful girl with lots of love to give and with the right guidance and gentle patience, she will charm any future adopter with her jolly nature and love of life.

10Feb2012 | Greyhound Rescue West of England | READ MOREDandi – 4-5 month old male Lurcher
We do not know much about his start in life but Dandi is the finest, chipper little white and brindle whippy/lurcher puppy you could hope to meet. He looks so appealing and also is charming. He’s a calm and gentle little man who’s already learnt about the home comforts of soft beds and radiators.
Dandi is in foster with a young lurcher and a cat so is learning his place in the pecking order. Dandi’s very respectful of his elders and definitely of the cat who stands no nonsense. We think he’s about 4/5 months old weighing in just under 10kg.
Dandi walks nicely on the lead and seems to be house trained as no accidents in his foster home where he’s taken out when he goes to the door. Dandi is being crate trained which he’s taking to nicely but he does like the tv or radio on so he doesn’t feel alone.

We are looking for a lovely home for Dandi with somebody around most of the time and dedicated to
putting in the time and work required to raise an all round nice pup.

10Feb2012 | Greyhound Rescue West of England | READ MOREJorge – 12-18 month old male Greyhound
A young stunning lad who looks like a greyhound but isn’t tattood and came into rescue when he was rescued after being spotted thrown from a car. Jorge isn’t bothered though – he doesn’t let things get him down, for Jorge life is one big game and he loves to play!
Jorge is cat friendly but brave cats only as he is very bouncy and silly! Jorge is looking for a home to teach him how to behave in a pet home – he will come in and take over and be all excited but with some sensible, gentle direction he will soon understand how you want him to behave and I don’t think there will be any looking back….
Jorge is incredibly handsome and we guess he is between 12 – 18 mnths old? Jorge loves to play ball and he does jump up at the moment – but this will need to be on your training what not to do list!!

We are looking for an adult home and Jorge could live with other dogs… he is very social.

10Feb2012 | Greyhound Rescue West of England | READ MOREWidget – 1 year old male Lurcher
Hi, my name is Widget and I’m about a year old. People say that I could be a Whippet cross Terrier of some sort. I love being around people and having lots of cuddles but can get a bit sad when I move somewhere new and I’m left alone. Once I know the hoomans come back and I have a routine I’m happier and go to sleep in my crate like a good boy. I’m nice and quiet over night and likes a lie in.
Because I’m still young I really like playing with other dogs, but my foster mum says I need to learn some manners about meeting new dogs nicely. I’ve never been to school either, so apparently I need to do that – yawn – but my fostermum says that I’m very responsive to what she says – what ever that means!
I can run really really fast and love chasing my foster sister around the garden. I’m not allowed to run about outside the garden yet, as I don’t know my name. I also love toys, especially furry, squashy ones and I gather them up and put them in my bed along with the odd shoe or boot.

Widget’s fostermum says:
Widget is a very affectionate little chap and really loves attention, but needs to be made to have time alone so he doesn’t become to needy. He’s very gentle and will let you handle him, check his feet, ears etc and you can remove his food bowl with no problems what so ever. As he’s only just been neutered and was also a stray, when his hormones settle and he’s had some training I think he’ll be a cracking little fun dog.

10Feb2012 | Greyhound Rescue West of England | READ MOREBonnie – 9 year old female Whippet
Bonnie is a beautiful whippet girl who came to us recently from her pet home where she has lived since puppyhood. Bonnie spent most of her life as an only dog – only the last two years she shared with Lola, so we feel Bonnie will be happier back on her own.
Bonnie is in foster with several other dogs! here is what her foster mum says about her……Bonnie bossy boots what she lacks in size she makes up in attitude, she will rule your house from the sofa. Bonnie has a sweet nature and nice manners but if you have another dog she will soon have it right under the thumb and you to if you give her half a chance!
Bonnie lords it over my lot quite happily and they let her. She is a lovely little girl who will melt your heart in two seconds flat I could eat her up and for me to say that is something as I dont do small dogs, shes pert and lively full of fun great to take out, nice on the lead, very responsive, pays attention when you speak to her an all round nice lady.
Bonnie will be an interesting companion with lots of charm and lots of love.
