Romeo – 3 month old male Rottweiler Cross
Hello, my name is Romeo. I am a three month old male Rottweiler crossbreed. I arrived at The Mayhew with my siblings because our breeder could no longer look after us. I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and I am now starting to learn lots of good things, I’m starting to get the hang of toilet training because I’m taken out to the garden every couple of hours and given lots of praise when I do my business out there. I have learnt to sit for a treat and to come when called. Like any puppy I’m a bundle of energy and full of mischief. I want to kiss everyone I meet but I am learning not to jump up and to say ‘hello’ politely. When I ‘puppy mouth’ my carers give a loud yelp so I’m learning to just give puppy licks and kisses. I like to steal things that aren’t mine and take them into my bed but I will swap them for one of my favourite chews when my carers tell me to. I still have plenty of things to learn so I will need plenty of time and dedication from my new owners to teach me all the basics and perfect my doggy manners.

I am now looking for a forever home with someone who is experienced with dogs and has researched my breed type. They will need to have, as an adult, independently owned dogs before and have plenty of time on their hands to train and socialise me properly so that I develop in to a well rounded adult dog. They will be expected to take me to training classes and provide me with two gentle, thirty minute, off lead socialisation outings per day whilst I’m still young, building up to a minimum of one hour of off lead exercise every day once I’m fully grown. I can live with another grown up dog providing they have been well trained, are calm and will be a good role model for me. I can also live with cats providing my owners are prepared to teach me not to chase them. Due to my very young age and training needs I will need to live in either a house or ground floor flat with direct access to a garden, there will need to be somebody at home for most of the day and any children in my new home will need to be at least six years of age and upwards. If you’re interested in offering me a home you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you will be taking on a fifteen year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.
I hope to see you soon

Hello, my name is Bernard. I’m a two year old male Staffy. I arrived at The Mayhew after being found abandoned on the streets of London. I am a very friendly, playful and fun-loving boy. Due to an old injury I had to have one of my back legs removed but I cope really well and having three legs doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I get along well with everyone I meet and I also get along well with other dogs and I love to meet up with them for a play in the park, I can sometimes be a little over the top for some dogs.
I’m intelligent and eager to please and I’m learning quickly. I am a happy and bouncy dog. I love to play with my toys, my favourites are tennis balls. I’m also very affectionate and I enjoy nothing more than cuddling up next to people for attention.
I am now looking for a forever home with someone who has owned dogs before and has researched my breed type. I would happily live with sensible children from eleven years of age and upwards and I could live with another dog providing we’re the right match but no cats please. It is not yet known how long I cope being left alone for so I will need a home where there is somebody around for most of the day. My new owners will be expected to continue my training, take me to training classes and provide me with a minimum of one hour of off lead exercise in the park every day. If you’re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you will be taking on a fourteen year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.

Hello, my name is Mason. I’m a three year old male Staffordshire Bull terrier. I arrived at The Mayhew because my owner took on a full-time job and felt she didn’t have the time to look after me properly.
I am a very friendly, playful and sweet-natured boy. I get along well with everyone I meet and I’m also very good with other dogs. I’m toilet trained, I know the usual commands which I respond well to and I can be left on my own of a few hours without any problems. I’m a sensitive lad and I’ve been known to have anxiety attacks if left alone for longer periods. I also become anxious on long car journeys. I love going to the park where I enjoy running around and chasing after birds. I have a very good recall off my lead. I am a super affectionate dog and I love nothing more than cuddling up next to you for kisses and cuddles. I also enjoy playing with footballs and settling down to enjoy a stuffed Kong.

I am now looking for a forever home with someone who has owned dogs before and has researched my breed type. I would happily live with sensible children from twelve years of age and upwards and I could also live with another dog providing we’re the right match. I would like to find a home where there is somebody around for most of the day. My new owners will be expected to provide me with a minimum of one hour of off lead exercise in the park every day. If you’re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you will be taking on a twelve year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.

Hello, my name is Sylvia. I’m a two year old female Jack Russell Terrier. I arrived at The Mayhew after being found abandoned on the streets of London.
I am a quiet, gentle and sweet-natured girl. I am shy around strangers but it doesn’t take long for me to make friends with people who take their time with me and speak to me softly. I’m also timid of other dogs I’ve not met before. I walk nicely on my lead and I have a good recall off my lead in the park. I also enjoy playing with a ball. My favourite pastime of all is cuddles! I love sitting on peoples laps and snuggling into them, and at night-time I like to be covered with a blanket.
I am now looking for a forever home with someone who has owned dogs before and has researched my breed type. I can live with sensible and calm teenagers and I could also live with another dog providing we’re the right match. Rayhan – 6 month old male Saluki Cross
Hello, my name is Rayhan. I’m a six month old male Saluki mix. I arrived at The Mayhew after being found with my brother abandoned on the streets of London.
I am an active and playful pup who’s not had the best start in life. I was very frightened and underweight when I first arrived but I’m feeling much better now. I’ve put on weight and I am now much more confident and out-going. I love going to the park. I get along very well with other dogs and I love to meet up with them for a run and play. I would benefit from living with a well behaved and sociable adult dog who can teach me the ropes and help me to settle down into family life. I will need all the training a young dog need so my new owners will need to have plenty of time on their hands to bring me up properly.

I am looking for a forever home with an experienced and patient owner. It is not yet known how long I cope being left on my own for so I will need a home where there is somebody around for most of the day. I can live with calm and sensible teenagers who will be consistent with my training. I wouldn’t be suitable to live with cats. My new owners will be expected to continue my training and socialisation, take me to training classes and provide me with a minimum of one hour of off lead exercise every day. If you’re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you will be taking on a fourteen year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.

Hello, my name is Dusk. I’m a seven year old female German Shepherd. I arrived at The Mayhew after being found abandoned on the streets of London. I am a very friendly, sensible and sweet-natured girl. I’m well-behaved, I travel well in the car and I walk nicely on my lead without pulling. I also know all the usual commands which I respond well to. I am a loyal and affectionate dog who enjoys human company and I’m not keen on being left on my own.
I’m not really into toys, I’d much rather be cuddling up on the sofa or having tummy rubs. I enjoy going to the park and I have a good recall off my lead and I also get along well with other dogs. My foster carer says I’m a very loving dog who settled down quickly. She says I’m well-behaved even if I do try to sneak on the bed when no one is looking.
