Blue Angel
Blue is a 6 year female Neapolitan Mastiff urgently needing a new home. She has been registered with us for many months now. She has lived with a Jack Russell Terrier and a horse! Although she has had a previous operation on her knee this has caused no problems.
She loves attention and adores people, Blue loves having a good scrub in the bath and having a good ear rub. She loves playing catch and running around with a football. She eats a big dog’s breakfast and at teatime she has Bonios and chewy bones which she likes to hide in her bed.
Blue can be be a bit bouncy when greeted by other dogs but if introduced on a daily basis she will get to know them and then is fine. She is being rehomed due to her owners separation. I’d love Blue to go to a home where they’ll love her like we do.
Please contact mastinowelfare@btinternet.com if you could offer Blue Angel a home.

Barney is a 2 year male Neapolitan Mastiff. He will be coming to our canine behaviour consultant to be assessed as he has lived his entire life in a back yard. He is displaying strong anxiety towards the world in general due to a lack of habituation but is reported to be very good with people; deferent and sociable.

He has had very little training in a foreign language so this will need to be be started while in rescue and continued diligently throughout Barney’s life.
Due to the problems Barney has, we would prefer that he is rehomed in the South East so that he can undertake regular training and behaviour sessions with our behaviour consultant.
The new owners will receive a pack containing a flea treatment and worming tablets as well as other useful products by post after adoption.
He has been recently neutered, he is also micro-chipped and vaccinated. He does suffer from general anxiety and requires behaviour modification in the form of habituation and systematic desensitisation to general external stimuli.

Charlie is a female Neapolitan Mastiff aged about 3 years and was rescued about 7 weeks ago from a backyard breeder but the people that took her in could not keep her.

She is not lead trained but now she is in kennels being handled and taken out regularly she is getting better, however she will still require extensive training. She is sociable with people and although excitable with other dogs, she is sociable with them. She is micro-chipped, vaccinated and neutered.

Sky is a 1 year old blue Neapolitan Mastiff female who needs to be placed with an adult family or older teenagers. She craves attention and is a loving girl.
In her short life Sky has had 4 operations on her legs which is believed to be resolved, however the previous owner states that the insurance company has agreed to carry over all issues to a new owner if cover is renewed before the end of April.
Sky is currently in kennels where she will be assessed further after intially being fostered by our Regional Coordinators in the North West who worked with her on lead work and general socialisation. Her previous owner tells us that she is good with other dogs, craves human attention and seems to respond well to simple commands.
Sky URGENTLY needs a loving home. If you can give her the love and care she needs please contact Neapolitan Mastiff Welfare’s North East Coordinator, Mandy for more details on Bernie, tel: 07701 090510 or 07877 281604 or email: kamatse@btinternet.com or drosdelnoch2@hotmail.com
Bernie
Big beautiful Bernie is a lively, boisterous big blue 4 year old Neapolitan Mastiff lad who is currently in foster care while he is neutered and assessed.
He needs lead training and some behaviour work to deal with some resource issues (he is terrified the world will come and take his favourite treats from him!) but our canine behaviourist will provide all the necessary help to deal with this if he is rehomed in the South East or will refer the new owners to someone in their area who will be able to provide ongoing help.
He is a a typical young male in that if you give him an inch, he will take a mile and, as with most examples of the breed, if you leave him in no doubt as to who is the head of the family (i.e. the primary adult carers) with firm and consistent handling combined with positive reinforcement, he is a great companion.
Our foster carer has reported absolutely no problems with him but it must be emphasised that our foster carers and assessors are very experienced and know how to get their relationship straight with a Neapolitan Mastiff within a very short time of meeting them! This is critical with this breed and Bernie is no exception; they need the perfect balance of leadership and love…
Please contact Neapolitan Mastiff Welfare’s North East Coordinator, Mandy for more details on Bernie, tel: 07701 090510 or 07877 281604 or email: kamatse@btinternet.com or drosdelnoch2@hotmail.com

Meet Hagrid, an 18 month black brindle castrated Neapolitan Mastiff male. He needs knowledgeable home with firm but kind handling. He responds well to positive training and needs someone prepared to carry on the training.
He is good with dogs if they are calm but will scrap with them if they go first. He is also good with children but very boisterous so not to be re-homed with any children under 12. He is a very loving and happy dog who responds well but is going through his teenage stage.
