Chester – 10 year old male Dalmatian
Chester is a beautiful example of a Dalmatian and very, very good looking. He is an excellent guard dog, is castrated and micro-chipped. We are moving abroad and, as much as it breaks my heart, I cannot take my Chester with us. I have had Chester for the past 6 years and have worked very hard with him. When he came to us he was a very abused dog, broken back, cracked skull and afraid of everything. Now Chester is a fun loving dog that needs someone who is firm and will respect the fact that he was abused. Chester is very sweet and kind natured, though he does have a few quirks. He will need someone who is firm with him as he needs to know who is master. Chester does not bite, but can nip when he is scared. If you are looking for a dog to have on the couch and cuddle then he is not for you. Chester shows his affection by coming for big strokes, gentle rubs and licking your feet. He does not like to be around other dogs when leashed, but otherwise is great when walking. He does come back, but usually only when he is ready; this has never been an issue as he is always a good boy.
It is important, and I cannot stress this enough, he will need a firm and understanding heart. Like all Dalmatians, Chester is cheeky and will eat anything and everything, especially the butter or bread if you leave it on the counter. I would think that Chester would not be suitable for a family with children under 12. Chester is very well house trained; letting him out in the morning and then a walk at night is more than enough for him.

Sheba is a pretty 4-year-old neutered female German Shepherd Dog. She is currently in kennels so is looking for a forever home or a foster home. Sheba has been to dog training classes and knows sit and wait. She walks on a halti but will jump up and can get very excited and playful – she loves playing with toys, bless her. Sheba lived with children but would be better with older children as she would knock little ones over.

Venus is a lovely 10-month-old female Staffie. She has lived with young children and she loves them. She can be quite bouncy and could knock smaller children over so we are looking to home her where there are older children over 10 years. Venus would be better living on her own as an only dog. She has lived with cats. Venus loves to snuggle up to you on the sofa and is very gentle.
She has been used to someone around most of the time but she has been left for shopping etc. and she doesn’t howl or cry. Venus loves a ride in the car and is brilliant in it!

Maddie is a 12-14 week old Boxer cross pup. She is the most laid back pup I have had the pleasure of fostering, says Donna. We are working on the housetraining and all is going well, she is clean through the night with only has the odd accident during the day.
Maddie does like the company of other dogs; she loves to curl up with them for a nice snooze. She is quite interested in the cats, but not in a nasty way (she just wants to play) so a dog savvy cat would be fine. She loves children and behaves very well around them for such a young pup. Maddie will need someone around for most of the day as she is so young, and will need to attend training classes. She will also need to be spayed as part of the adoption agreement and proof of this will need to provided.
The only issue Maddie appears to have is travelling in the car – she gets very sick. We are working on this daily and she has improved greatly in a very short time. We are now able to make short journeys without any sickness and I’m sure she will grow out of this.

Libby is a 6 year old British Bulldog who has been neutered. She was rescued 2 years ago from a home where she lived in the garden. However, two younger dogs have joined the family and she isn’t happy anymore. She would prefer a nice quiet home and to be an only dog and no cats either please. Libby is also looking for a home with a safe and secure garden as she doesn’t enjoy long walks and prefers to just potter in the garden. Libby loves her food and lots of cuddles.
She is fine with children, but due to her size we would prefer not rehome her with small children, only those of, say, 8 years and over.

Rocky is a 4 year old Apricot minature Poodle. He has been totally shaved at the vets, as he came to us in an awful condition. Rocky’s coat was matted with faeces and urine. He has been neutered, vaccinated and is chipped.
Rocky is presently very nervous but we feel he will be ok to live with another dog . He is approching us for some attention and a fuss. Rocky appears to be housetrained and will walk on lead. He will be a wonderful addition for a lucky new owner.

Lizzie is an ex-breeding Basset Hound bitch rescued from a puppy farm who is between 2-3 years old. We are looking for someone who has the time and patience to bring her out of herself and turn her into a lovely, happy pet. She loves the company of other dogs and we will only consider homes who have an existing dog. Lizzie would not be happy on her own.
She is not yet fully housetrained or able to walk outside on a lead. Since being in foster, Lizzie has learnt to go up and downstairs. She is coming around very well and does come to you for attention. She will lay on the sofa alongside you or a doggy pal and she has shown herself to be a really lovely dog. Lizzie has been speyed, vaccinated and microchipped and had treatment for fleas and worms. She will not be homed with children under 10 as she is just not used to them. However, visiting grandchildren would probably be OK in time.

This is Louie and he is a 7- 8 year old male Bichon Frise, who is an ex-puppy farm stud dog. He is a very nice boy, has a good temperament and is friendly with all. Louie is fine with other dogs. We would prefer a home with another dog and someone who is home all day so Louie can learn how to be a pet dog. Louie will NOT be homed with children as he is just not used to them, and it isn’t fair to introduce them at this time of his life. However, visiting grandchildren would probably be OK in time. Louie would ideally like a nice quiet retirement home as he is a lap dog in training.

This is Mabon and he is a 7-8 year old male Cross Breed. Mabon is a lovely 7-8 year-old neutered crossbreed male. He has lost his home through no fault of his own, having lived with his owner since 6 months old. Mabon, who travels well in the car, is good with other dogs and also on the lead. He will not be rehomed with young children. Mabon is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Mabon may have been named after the autumn equinox or a Welsh legend. It was a popular medieval Welsh name.

This is Billy and he is a 16-week old male Cross-Breed. He is cheeky and friendly; a typical lively young puppy. Billy is fine with other dogs and cats. He needs a home with someone who is home all day. Billy will not be homed with children under 8 years. He will need to attend training classes as he needs some basic training. He will have to be neutered at 6 months. We will require proof of the training classes and we will ask you to sign an agreement to have him neutered.
