Phoebe – 5 year old female Yorkshire Terrier
Phoebe is a 5 year old Yorkshire Terrier who came to rescue sadly because her owner is terminaly ill. Phoebe is a great little dog and gets on well with all people. She gets on with other toy breed dogs her size but not really with dogs bigger than her. When she came into rescue she would chase cats and smaller animals like rabbits, but we have worked her on not to do this and she is very responsive to positive reinforcement training and boundary setting. However due to her maybe going into a home with cats and smaller animals she may start chasing again so unless the new home is experienced on handling the situation to get her to stop we will only rehome Phoebe to home with no cats and small animals. Phoebe has been spayed, vaccinated to date, wormed, flead and chipped. She has also had a full dental with us with 14 teeth removed and the rest polished so now has a happy healthy mouth.
Phoebe loves being people and is a very gentle girl full of lots of love. She loves going on walks and playing and she loves sitting with you in the evenings.. She is house trained and barks at the door to let you know she wants to go out and she doesn’t chew.. Phoebe will be rehomed with leads, harness, jumpers and coats for winter, bed toys etc.. plus 4 weeks free insurance.

Phoebe really would make a wonderful addition to any family as she has so much gentle love to give.

Bruno is a 4 year old male Staffie cross Lab who came to us via a vets in Hucknall after his owners handed him in to be detroyed (pts) The vets decided to take him instead and find help for Bruno.. The vet nurse had just a few weeks to find help for Bruno or he would be destroyed. On the last day, literaly hours before he was to be destroyed we found out about Bruno via a internet plea and took him in. He spent a few of his life locked constantly in a cage and fed through the bars.. It seems he has also been kicked and beaten and is very nervous at first. It was his second home that brought him to the vets for him to be destroyed for after 18 months he was said to of jumped up and curled his lip and they were then scared! However after an assesment with Bruno he has not shown any agression at all. he was a little scared when the vet tried to look in his ear and snapped a little bit but he did not bite. I have noticed 2 slight lip curls which is what he does with excitement when greeting you and then it is just a little twitch of the lips, almost a smile.
Bruno is a sweet boy who has been abused and mis understood.. All he asks for is love and understanding and toys galore to play with! Once he meets you he is a little nervouse but will still come say Hello.. Once he gets to you know his nerves dwindle and shines a beautiful playful boy full of effection.
Bruno needs a home with no children younger than teens year, definatly NO cats or small animals.. He has been tested with other dogs and is fine with females and intros are calm, hyper and bouncy dogs at first meet do over whelm him.. He would be best an only dog I think and have lots of one to one and would be ideal for a single person or couple with no young children. He does need a very secure garden with secured 6 foot fencing/wall as he wont thing twice about jumping a fence any smaller. He isn’t very good off the lead so a new owner will need to build the bond and trust and work on that. He was terrified of busy roads at first but we have done plenty of walking and socialising around the problem areas for his nerves and he is really confident now. He does try hard to barge through open doors so a front garden is a must, or the ability to be able to shut him securly in a nother room when opening the front. He is house trained though at firt with nerves has the odd accident for a day or two, but frequuent letting him for the the toilet resolves this. I have re crate trained him so he associates crates with a positive feeling, we use a crate currently for his bed and safe haven area he can choose to go to relax in.. At first if he was locked in he would bark and yelp.. with small intervals of doing this with positive rewards and reinforcement he has over come his fear of them now. This isuseful incase any new home prefers to use a crate when traveling in a car.
We have introduced Bruno to new people coming into the home and he has been wonderful with them! We have noticed he feels safer and more confident around men but again, once he gets to know you (a female) he is just brilliant..

Basicaly Bruno is a fab little dog and everyone who has met him has fell in love with him! All Bruno would like is a forever home to call his own now that can offer lots of love and toys/play and understand he may be nervous at first and shy away. he is very clear with body language when he feels insecure as he looks away turning his head, lip licks etc..
