Jasmine - 8 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Jasmine is an 8 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier who has been signed over to RSPCA care as her owner can no longer care for her. Her owner has gone into a rehab facility and the children into care. Jasmine’s future was uncertain if we hadn’t have stepped in. She has been wormed, flead, health checked, 1st vaccination and is already micro-chipped. She will be spayed in due course.

She is a typical Staffordshire Bull Terrier girl in that she is incredibly friendlly with people, she’s very much an affectionate loving girl, she has been brought up with children (current ages 4, 14, 18 yrs) but seemingly is not good with other dogs, however so far she has shown no interest any dog she’s come across so far, she isn’t to be rehomed with cats.

She apparently has been very much a house dog, loves home comforts and being around the family, so much so that she hasn’t had proper daily walks which she really could benefit from “She can pull a bit on the lead, she also sees the lead as a toy as she’s so excited about her walks so would benefit from carrying a toy to give her something else to concentrate on! She is also slightly overweight but regular exercise will soon put pay to that!”

We are looking for an experienced home as she’ll need time to slowly settle into a new home after spending her whole life with the same owner, with a garden where she can play and potter, human companionship is what she loves so is a must. “Please don’t let age put you off, you wouldn’t think she was 8 years old, she has the stamina of a very young dog, full of beans and she has a good few years ahead of her yet!”
15May2008 | RSPCA Macclesfield South East Cheshire and Buxton | READ MORETye - 3 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Tye is a 3 year old male black, brindle and white long-legged Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He was found in a shed with a severe leg injury where it was half hanging off, and incredibly emaciated, a vet was called out to assist and he was taken to the vets, while there the leg fell off before they could amputate it, he must have been in agony and suffering immensly.
Our branch was contacted to assist in the matter. A Staffordshire Bull Terrier was reported missing 2 weeks prior and the description fit Tye so the owner was contacted who took a few days to come in and confirmed Tye was his, however he didn’t want Tye back. Then changed his mind a few days later and took Tye home, another few days later he rang the vets and signed him over into RSPCA care.
Tye will be vaccinated, wormed/flead, micro-chipped, he is still about 3kg underweight, once he gets to a good weight he will be castrated. He is not on any medication now and has had his stitches removed.
Tye has had a traumatic time so at the moment he is a little depressed, but with love, tlc and time he will undoubtedly come out of his shell. He has already been in at least 2 homes after being a rescued dog, one was for a year with 4 children and a cat and his most recent was since Jan 08.
Tye has a very friendly nature and loves people, which is just typical of the breed we believe Tye is generally good with other dogs (he’s already been happily walking alongside and enjoying a good sniff with a greyhound bitch in our care!) and children, but we will assess him while he is in foster to be sure.
He also travels very well. He’s used to living in a flat and not really been off lead, he’s used to many walks though and is used to someone being around. He absolutely loves food and any treat going! He particularly loves to chew plastic bottles!
He is completely mobile on 3 legs and is not at all prohibited in what he can do, he has adapted very well so please do not let this put you off, please give him a chance.
We are looking for an experienced home considering what he’s been through, a toddler free home as we believe he’s normally quite lively and bouncy. We really want a lovely home with a nice garden where someone is around a lot, at most works part time, lots of walks and socialising once he’s settled and above all love and a secure and stable future.
8May2008 | RSPCA Macclesfield South East Cheshire and Buxton | READ MOREHarry - 4 year old male Border Collie
Harry is a 4 year old male tri-colour Border Collie. He has had his first vaccination as fell behind, is due to be castrated, is microchipped, flead, wormed and has been health checked. Harry is being rehomed (direct from his current home as he won’t fare well in kennels) due to a personal change in the owners circumstances which means he is being left for 9 hours a day in the kitchen, he deserves more than this and so we are looking for a home where he has a better quality of life.
Harry is different from other dogs in that he has the ‘doggie equivalent of MS’ whereby he can’t control the movement of his back legs due to the message not getting from the brain to that area. He is not in any pain or discomfort, he’s a happy dog with it, it is a proprioception problem.
He has no muscle wasteage as he uses his legs and muscles, the most important factor to remember is that is it not a progressive problem, it’s remained stable since being a puppy and there will be no deterioration. There also is no expense as he does not need medication at all. As can be seen in the videos on the RSPCA Macclesfield site, he has little control over the movement but he is mobile and works with it.
Because of this we are looking for a special home whereby Harry has regular access and walks on grassy areas. We feel a small holding, farm or rural home with a large grassy garden or land where he can potter about to his hearts content during the day. He needs frequent grassy walks but not long walks where he can be off lead. We would like a home where there is someone at home a lot of the time, a clutter free environment, and especially not with slippery flooring!
He’s a very bright dog and loves to interact with you so stimulation is particularly important for him. He loves games of fetch and has a thing for sticks and footballs! As can be been seen in the videos when his mind is on other things his mobility is better. As with all long haired dogs he needs regular gentle grooming to help keep his coat clean and matt free but needs to be respectful of his condition at the same time.
He’s great with dogs, he loves to socialise and will happily introduce himself to other dogs of all shapes and sizes! He has a wonderful temperamant, he is so friendly, placid and affectionate he loves people including children, the local kids call round for him to play! He’s not lived a cat but he’s never shown any unsavoury interest in them.
Some of the above perhaps is a tall order but we need to get across that even though his condition may look disturbing to watch he is a very happy dog who can do all doggy things, he is not a burden but just needs to find the right home. He will bring so much happiness to the home, please give him a chance.
7May2008 | RSPCA Macclesfield South East Cheshire and Buxton | READ MOREFrankie - 11 year old female Beagle Cross
Frankie is an 11 year old female Beagle cross. Frankie is spayed, micro-chipped, health checked, wormed/flead and has had her 1st vaccination (fell behind a year). Frankie has come into our care due to her owners change of circumstances, they do not have the time to give to Frankie any more and feel she deserves better.

What with a toddler and a baby on the way she is getting even less attention and this is not fair on her. We feel it’s kinder for Frankie to be rehomed from home. Frankie is young at heart, do not let age fool you she loves her walks, she’s a joyful dog with bags of character and despite her age is quite active, which is true to the breed!
She travels well in the car, is house-trained, she has her own sofa in the conservatory, well, at her age so she should! She’s good with children but can be nervous around boisterous noisy children, we’d prefer a child free home in order for a peaceful life!

She’s good with other dogs especially when off lead, on lead she can be quite vocal but this is only with some dogs, there’s only been a couple of occasions ever where she’s been grumpy. Her recall isn’t great but the minute you are out of sight she’ll come running! She can’t be rehomed with cats but would probably enjoy the company of a canine friend.
She is used to her walks offlead in fields so a rural area would be great, but as long as there’s nice country walks close by that’s fine. She loves cuddly toys in the respect that she rips them up! Oh and she’s a bit partial to pigs ears and tripe sticks!
We are looking for an experienced home for Frankie, where someone is at home most of the time, she’s a typical Beagle in that she is very loving, affectionate, friendly and enthusiastic, greedy and occasionally stubborn! Another trait that’s typical of the breed is the nose to the ground which is a past time she seems to like! Whoever adopts Frankie will not be sorry, she is such a lovely girl with lots to offer!
29Apr2008 | RSPCA Macclesfield South East Cheshire and Buxton | READ MOREAngel - 2 1/2 year old female Greyhound
Angel is a 2 1/2 year old female Greyhound who was signed over to the Inspectors by the police as the owner has been taken into custody, Angel was left in the house and the owner signed her over for rehoming. We have liased with the owners mother. Angel was bred for racing and was in a kennel till she was 18 months old.

She would not chase or race and that is how her previous owner got her. She was very much a nervous scared dog when he got her, she never knew how to play either, it’s clear that she was treated very badly by the men who had her for racing, it took a while for her to accept him but she did. She had a very happy life with her previous owner.
Whilst being in foster care Angel has come into contact with so many cats, dogs, animals, even having a run around with some cows! with no problems at all, she really enjoys the company of children so we can safely say she’s an angel with all creatures! We feel that she needs calm home quiet home as she is jumpy and timid, she’s had a hard life already so would like her to have a peaceful home, without toddlers/busy home, it would be nice for her to have a canine friend to teach her doggie things!

The Dog Rehoming Co-ordinator is assessing her at present: At first she didn’t want to come into my house so I had to coax her. Because she was nervous I didn’t bother with testing her with my cat, it wouldn’t have been fair. But while at the kennels I took her into the boarding cattery, there were only a couple of cats in there but she wasn’t interested in them at all, I’m not sure if that’s because she’s lacking confidence or if she genuinely isn’t bothered by them.
In the car you don’t hear a peep out of her, however she is car sick so doesn’t travel well. Most of the time she didn’t know what to do with the balls I was throwing for her, don’t think she’s had much opportunity to play. But a couple of occasions she did run after the ball.
When I went back to the kennels one of the resident dogs was hanging around, a Spaniel pup who is full of play and mischief, he followed her nose to bum for ages and was pouncing around her, she didn’t show any interest in him whatsoever. There are also chickens, ducks and geese at the kennels and she’s not interested in them at all. So far she seems fine with other animals but we are still assessing her.
She really is an angel, a very gentle dog, she can be timid, so far she’s been particularly nervous around men, but she is the most affectionate loving dog. She adores to be with you and as one of the pics shows she likes to rest her head on your lap and close her eyes relishing the attention.
She is not a racing dog, she’s never been raced. Contrary to common belief just because Greyhounds are used for racing they are not overly active dogs, they love home comforts and normal walks like every other dog, they of course enjoy a run around off lead too. She’s to go to a loving cosy home where she can relax but have fun and enjoy life. A home with nice walks within walking distance or a short drive is a must. Whoever adopts her will not regret it, she will give so much love and joy you’ll wonder how you ever lived without a dog like Angel!
She had her 1st vaccination today, she is micro-chipped, she’s had a health check and has been given some medicated shampoo for some loss of hair and redness around her back end area-possible flea allergy. Angel will be spayed on Friday.
“Angel met various dogs today and was fine, she even came into contact with two cats in the vets who were hissing and rearing up at her and she didn’t react at all, she has come into contact with children and was fine. Seems Angel is a good all rounder! She is definately nervous of men, when she was with her ‘carer’ for today her male friend walked in and Angel rang out of the house into the garden away from him and suddenly did a ‘loose’ toilet, she doesn’t normally react this way, but she is wary of men generally, she just needs to gain trust in men and in time that will happen we are sure.”
25Apr2008 | RSPCA Macclesfield South East Cheshire and Buxton | READ MORELucy - 10-11 year old female Cross-Breed
Lucy is a medium sized cross-breed female aged 10-11 years old. She has been checked by vets and given the usual arrival treatments -worms, fleas, She is spayed and fully vaccinated She is also house-trained and walks well on the lead. Lucy is a very gentle, sweet, friendly dog, who desperatly needs a loving home to call her own.

(Lucy, pictured above with her smaller canine friend, Minnie)
She came in to the Warrington branch in July 07 with another dog called Jess due to neglect issues, but poor Lucy is being overlooked through no fault of her own so she has been taken in by a foster carer as she was stressed in the kennels and needed a foster home.
She originally suffered with a flea allergy and had some lumps, neither were treated until she came into RSPCA care. A lot of her fur has grown back but she does have a bald patch on her back that may remain. She’s so happy and bouncy it’s a joy to see! She’s quite a lively dog, a young 10!

‘No concerns over children (she’s being fostered with a well behaved 2 1/2 yr old) but want a toddler free home, because of her age we want a quiet, stress free cosy home where she can relax and put her paws up. Perhaps with a retired couple who are active and love their walks. Older children homes acceptable. She loves people and relishes human contact, she’s always giving her paw in exchange for some fussing!
Regarding cats, she came across a neighbours cat and was fine with him, despite Lucy being growled at she still wagged her tail and showed no sign of aggression, but not sure how she’ll fair living with a cat.
She’s really good with other dogs, as can be seen she’s with Minnie (pictured above) who is also in our care for rehoming, they like to play and sleep together. She is very active for her age and adores being outside on walks and especially loves the garden! No cats or small furries please.
7Apr2008 | RSPCA Macclesfield South East Cheshire and Buxton | READ MOREGizmo
This dog has now successfully found a new home. Thank you to all the DogsBlog.com supporters who enquired about him. If you would like a dog similar to Ringo, may we point you in the direction of all the dogs categorised in the all dogs available for adoption section.
Gizmo is a 13 week old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross male he is a wonderfully playful, bouncy and loveable puppy with no health issues. Gizmo comes to us as his owners have realised that over tenancy issues, they cannot keep him. He is fully wormed, flea treated, vaccinated and micro-chipped. He is not fully house-trained, but is not far off.

He is a typical Staffordshire Bull Terrier, very friendly, just loves attention and TLC. He is obedient and already has some commands which he obeys. He enjoys human company and is most at home with someone around lots of the time. That said, he is not destructive if left, simply enjoying the toys he has and looking forward to the human to return.

Gizmo has not lived with children, nor other animals, but when coming across them seems fine. He is young and early association with both should only improve his acceptance of small humans and other pets. He travels well and enjoys long walks. Fostered in a family with 2 children, he’s happy with them but not the ‘wind bag’ - not talkers but one of those infernal machines with ‘Hoover’ written on them. Start one up and it’s off behind the sofa!!
We seek to rehome him in a house with another dog so he can socialise and grow up with a new brother or sister. He needs someone who is not going to be out all the time.
15Mar2008 | RSPCA Macclesfield South East Cheshire and Buxton | READ MORETiger
Meet Tiger, an 8-9 month old Collie cross male, Tiger’s owner has been admitted to hospital and will be unable to care for the dog when eventually released. With no one willing to take on the animal and at risk in that he had been left in his home, the branch stepped in and he has been signed over to our care.

Has had his health check, is neutered, fully vaccinated, wormed/flead, microchipped and is a very healthy dog. He is quite active, very friendly, good on the lead and can be a bit exciteable in that he jumps up for a fuss! He is house-trained but in the light of recent confinement may need a brush up on the rules. Because he’s been cooped up for a short while, he can get a bit over excited in a friendly way so may need a little bit of training - certainly some decent walks. He does know basic commands.
We know he has been brought up from being a puppy alongside a little Terrier cross female, but we do not know how he is with other dogs - perhaps a bit annoying until he becomes less enthusiastic about play. He is fine with cats and does not chase them but may approach to play or out of curiosity.
He’s not used to being around children but he’s so young we have no concerns. We would place him with children but perhaps not toddlers. He loves being around you for company and is a loving, friendly dog, he’ll relish lots of walks and attention! Has shown a liking for water - ponds etc that is - and given half the chance would dive in for a swim.
21Feb2008 | RSPCA Macclesfield South East Cheshire and Buxton | READ MORESeven Lurcher cross German Shepherd Puppies
Meet Toby and his six sisters, Bess, Chloe, Daisey, Katie, Poppy and Tara. These 7 adorable 8-8 week old Lurcher cross German Shepherd puppies were amongst 22 dogs rescued by inspectors from premises/owners where their lives were at risk. This branch has helped as the animals are now placed around other RSPCA branches for rehoming.

The puppies have already been seen by vets and are in good health. All have been treated against worms, fleas and had their first vaccinations. Will be microchipped when larger. As our volunteer fosterers get to know these little critters we will add more details in the coming days.

With so many and to help identity issues, we have given each a different collar colour - Bess wears a turquoise collar, Chloe wears a red and black collar, Daisey wears a blue collar, Katie wears a red collar, Poppy wears a multi-collar collar, Tara wears a black collar and Toby wears a green collar.
20Feb2008 | RSPCA Macclesfield South East Cheshire and Buxton | READ MOREHeidi and Bobby
Heidi and Bobby are two Jack Russell Terriers. Heidi is aged between 7-8 years, and Bobby, aged 8 years, were living in appalling conditions before they were rescued by an RSPCA inspector. Although not related, both had spent the whole of their lives in tiny kennels which were in a horrendous state through not being cleaned.

(Heidi, pictured above)
Heidi was slightly underweight because she had been used for breeding and as had quite a few litters. However, she is now in good health and at her ideal weight.
Due to the appalling conditions they were kept in, both Heidi and Bobby are being treated with medicated shampoos as their skin is a bit scaley. The branch will be able to advise whether this medication will need to be continued after rehoming.

(Bobby, pictured above)
Despite their ordeal, Heidi and Bobby both have wonderful temperaments. They are really sweet and affectionate and love lots of fussing. Heidi is the more laidback of the two, and Bobby is full of beans!
Apart from working excursions both animals were hardly exercised before, but despite this they are incredibly good on the lead.
Although they were rescued together, the branch is looking for separate homes for the dogs. The branch has already tried to rehome the dogs as a pair, but unfortunately they did not get along as well as hoped due to Bobby trying to mate with Heidi.
They need to be the only pets as neither are good with small animals. Heidi is good around other dogs, but Bobby is only good with females and needs to be kept on a lead around other males.
Heidi can be rehomed with older children but Bobby is better suited to a child free home as he is quite lively and bouncy.
After the experiences they have had, Heidi and Bobby really just need some ‘home comforts’ - good food, lots of regular walks, a garden to play in and, above all, lots of love and attention.
Any new owner must bear in mind that having lived in kennels all their lives, Heidi and Bobby are not house-trained. However, they have been clean at the kennels and the branch is sure that it will take them no time at all to settle into a normal home environment.
Both are fully vaccinated, including kennel cough, and have been treated against worms and fleas. They have both been microchipped and neutered, and have had their nails clipped and teeth cleaned.
Heidi and Bobby are each looking for the chance of living out the rest of their lives in a cosy house with their respective new owners. If Heidi and Bobby appeal to you as a pair and you want more information on this rescue pair email us today or call 01625 669620. If you would only be willing to take one of these Jack Russell Terriers - still let us know, in case we cannot home them as a pair.
