Tex – 9 year old male Greyhound
Tex is a 9 year old pedigree Greyhound who was an Irish ex-racer (ear tattoo right ear XH and left ear NNT) born in Galway in June 2000 (from Toms The Best and Gormanstown Beam) His racing name was Gormanstown Tex. Tex ran 39 Races (trials at Swindon and races at Milton Keynes) between 2002 and 2004. After that his racing career is unknown.
Tex had a cancerous lump the size of a grapefruit on his left front leg. This was removed rather than his leg amputated, because he had a missing big toe on his right front leg that would not have allowed him to balance on three legs; the Vet confirms that the cancer has all been removed. Tex had abscesses in his gums so the majority of teeth have been removed.
Tex is such a gentle giant, he absolutely loves to play with other dogs of any size and is so gentle with the smaller dogs. However, his eyes still light up when he is with other greyhounds and he seems to come alive when around them.
Tex loves his food but more than anything he loves the company of people. Tex is fine to be left, he is clean in the house and would like a lovely home to spend his years in comfort.
