Fly – 18 month old male Cross-Breed
Fly is an 18 month old cross-breed boy who is urgently in need of a loving new home.
He was found wandering the streets and has been mis-treated in his life so far, when he was picked up by the dog warden being visably under-weight for a start. From some research, we have found he has previously been treated badly by teenagers and so he is looking for an experienced dog owning adult only household, where after such a tough start in life, is looking for a cat-free home.

He will be a bit of a challenge, he is very clever and picks up commands very quickly. He would appreciate the opportunity to learn to love owners, who deserve his love.
Someone out there must want to give him a chance! If you would like any further details, please telephone Celine on 01454 863824.
21Oct2008 | South Gloucestershire Council | READ MORESheba – 4 year old female German Shepherd Dog
Hello my name is Sheba and I was signed over to the dog wardens as my old owner didn’t have time to care for me properly and I was always out scaring the neighbours! I am a 4 year old German Shepherd female and really need to find a home desperately. I have lived in a very large family so I would like a busy household where somebody is at home as I don’t think I could cope very well on my own. There were lots of children of all ages in my old home so I am quite tolerant although I shouldn’t have to put up with being pulled around.

The dog wardens will insist that my new owner gets me spayed so that there is no danger of me having babies and I must have some basic training as I can be a bit barky at people I don’t know until I’ve had a sniff of them. I would probably live with another dog if necessary.

I would like an owner who has preferably had German Shepherds before and knows about our quirky ways, will give me the exercise I desperately need to regain my figure and give me an interest in life. Please ring the dog wardens if you think you fit the bill.

This is Vincent, he is a young male Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross male aged approximately 5 months old. He was found straying in Soundwell on Monday and an owner has not come for him and so he is now in urgent need of a new home. As you can see he is a very sweet looking little thing and appears to be quite well mannered but can be quite scared sometimes.

This might be because someone has been a bit rough with him or it may just be lack of socialisation. He will need to go to training and will need 2 good walks a day as well as a secure garden with at least a 5 foot fence. When he is old enough he will need neutering. We would only consider homing him with older children that are used to dogs and that will not scare or torment him. If you think Vince might suit you please get in touch.

This is Hector, he is a 2 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier and a very good example of one but unfortunately he has the Staffordshire Bull Terrier traits of not liking other animals very much and is desperately looking for a new home! He has lived with another dog but he will not socialise well with other animals, although with a lot of work and training he may be able to mix with some other dogs.

We will only consider him to an experienced home that are willing to keep him on the lead whilst out and muzzle him around other animals. We would insist on him being booked into dog training lessons and we would neuter him before he is rehomed. He must have a secure garden with a fence of at least 5ft high that is very secure as Staffordshire Bull Terriers are very similar to small bulldozers and if the fence is flimsy they will bash through them.

Hector is a very loving dog with people and loves to chase a ball; he would benefit from an active home that could exercise him a lot although he is on lead. I know a lot of people may be put off by the fact he doesn’t socialise well with other dogs but in the right hands with some work this could be changed. If you think you can give Hector the home he deserves please call.
