Nina – 6 year old female Belgian Shepherd
This young beauty is Nina who is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. She is a happy go lucky lass with a sunny disposition and good manners that essentially need harnessing.

Nina is nervous around other dogs, so will need an experienced owner(s) who can help her get to know other breeds and herself to reveal all her winning qualities. She currently shares a kennel with a male cross breed and they get along famously although she doesn’t share this easy affability with some of our other dogs.
Nina is an elegant lass who is strong yet responsive and needs time investing in her to show her how to be. She enjoys running off lead at the shelter’s enclosed area, delighting in retrieving a tennis ball or just relaxing in the sun being groomed. Nina seems to be fine in the company of the children, but owing to her size, older ones would be best suited.

We would recommend that Nina not be homed with small dogs, but is perfectly fine and used large male dogs. All in all, in the right hands, Nina would make a rewarding, loyal and worthwhile pet who has lots of love to squander and make up for all the unhappiness that life her shown her so far; could that be you? Situated South East England, Herts.

Hi there, I am an extremely intelligent working dog named Bryan. I am very obedient, but am always open to learning new skills so should not spend long periods alone as stimulation is essential for young boys like me. I have a sunny disposition and but am yet to get used to the company of other dogs and feel a bit insecure when one passes by. I am okay with my mates at the shelter, but will need someone to work with me to make me more social with my fellow canines. I am a quick learner and want to improve. I am fully vaccinated and neutered.

I am ready for a fresh start to be a rewarding addition to your household where I can have fun walks to retain my balanced temperament and make lifelong friends. So if you have a Bryan shaped space in your home for a well behaved, responsive and loving lad like me, just give us a call and ask for Bryan; I’ll be here; situated South East England, Hertfordshire.

Billy – 18 month old male Jack Russell Terrier
We are very fortunate to have been given Billy who is loving, energetic yet quiet and would make a wonderful little companion. He likes nothing more than a good old trot through the fields and can keep up with any dog even the big ones. Billy sadly has a heart murmur which whilst you wouldn’t know it from any of his actions, will probably limit his life length yet he remains lively and optimistic. He is happy enough at the shelter, having made new mates and settling in fine, but we are looking for that extra special caring home where he can spend his days in comfort, with those who love him and one he can call his own. Not much to ask for is it?

Billy gets on with other dogs and all people and is polite upon meeting those who are unknown to him. He is an alert lad who likes to sit on the chair within his pen and watch the world pass him by, eager to be part of it and not miss out. He is by no means an invalid, but would appreciate a fairly quiet household where is he exercised regularly and whilst doing so he likes to pause and glance up at his walker just to make sure they are alright. Billy has been known to carry a treat stick throughout his entire walk, saving it for when he gets back for a much earned gnaw in his basket; it is a joy to see him relish every mouthful.

Billy is a clean lad who is house-trained and all he needs is a second chance to find happiness in the right home. Call ARC and ask for Billy, situated South East England, Herts.

This fine dame is Laylo who had to be given up and brought to us when her elderly owner’s living arrangements changed. It was so very sad and awful to see them parted as they were obviously firm friends for many years. Happily, Laylo has now settled in with us and is used to her new environment showing herself to be a resilient lady who is ready to look ahead and find love once more.

Laylo is spotlessly clean, never soiling her kennel waiting like a true lady for her proper toilet break, is spayed, fully vaccinated and micro-chipped. We all love Laylo and admire how she has brushed herself down and got on with things having now become accustomed to life at the shelter although eager to find a loving new home for good.
Laylo enjoys her walks, is a good matriarch for the younger dogs that she likes to keep a watchful eye over and is just adorable. Laylo is submissive, minds her own business and just want to get on with everyone and everything. Despite her age Laylo is playful yet gentle, carrying her stick throughout her walk and enjoying a treat or two in exchange for a teddy bear hug that she bestows readily and with relish.
Laylo is just a smashing girl who would make a wonderful pet who would prove to be an affectionate, loyal and responsive house-mate who we would dearly love to find a home for soon owing to the poignant situation that brought her to us; situated South East England, Herts.

This handsome home-seeker is Bruno, who is tender, responsive and ever so friendly. Bruno is vaccinated, house-trained and gets on well with all dogs and humans that are fortunate to come his way. Being a young ‘un, Bruno is naturally active, full of beans and can’t get enough walks as he absolutely loves them as he trots happily along. Despite Bruno being a very strong lad, he only pulls initially and we feel he would definitely respond to training as you can see that he is eager to learn, to please and be obedient.
Bruno is a good all rounder as he has previously lived with cats and children having experienced a varied home-life all of which failed to faze him. Bruno was brought to us through no fault of his own and is ready to find that special someone or family who can show him the ropes and provide a caring and secure home environment for always.
We recommend that Bruno not be left for long spells without company as he craves contact, is very gentle and sits holding out his paw to greet you and currently waiting patiently for his new pad and long- lasting happiness ; situated South East England, Herts.

In the time that this sweet girl has been with us Holly’s wonderful personality has emerged over time as she has got to know us all blossoming from the nervous stray into a beautiful girl. Holly is a fun-loving and alert home-seeker who mixes extremely well with other dogs but who isn’t averse to chasing cats. Holly is also house-trained and vaccinated.

Holly walks along with ears always at full mast acutely tuned in to all that is around her and you had better hold on if she spies wild life as she is a strong girl when her Lurcher instincts take over. However, all she wants to do is not to miss out on anything interesting as life wasn’t very stimulating before as she came to us as a stray. Holly is easy to handle, is gentle yet playful, manageable yet lively with a kind heart and soft temperament.

Holly enjoys her exercise regime at the shelter and gets along well with her fellow playmates and is happy to exercise with them or on her own plus she is also receptive to those new dogs that cross her path. It didn’t taken her long to recognise familiar faces and always displays a friendly greeting, as if to say “”What we up to today”? Positively beaming from ear to ear when she is retrieving balls and toys in our enclosed area off lead, even though Holly hasn’t quite mastered ‘fetch it’ just yet! Holly had a non-malignant cyst above her left eye which has now responded to treatment, but does not cause her concern nor require long term medical treatment just a little TLC.

This cuddly cutie is Clara who was sadly found as a stray yet is so sweet natured and loving that she struggles with understanding why. Her behaviour suggests she he has lived in a home as she is responsive to command, seems to be house-trained and micro-chipped.
Clara cannot hide her affection for anyone who comes her way, craving cuddles and attention, yet is obedient and keeps a good pace whilst walking once her initial excitement has calmed down. She trots along happily with her mates at the shelter and is a delight with all people.
Clara has a way of looking up at you as if she fully understands all that you say, not minding if you throw a treat her way which she will gladly sit for. Clara would make a great pet as she is interesting, interested and intelligent with oodles of love to squander. She would make an integral part of the household as her permanent home has eluded her so far; do you have a Clara shaped space in your life and heart? Situated South East England, Herts.

I’m Sheldon, a distinguished chap who is micro-chipped and vaccinated. I am an intelligent dog that is very affectionate, responding to command but would need more training by preferably an experienced owner who is familiar with breed. Whilst I am a typical Springer in some respects, I walk well and calmly on my lead.
I like nothing better than a rewarding exercise with my mates at the shelter and to have a ball thrown for me to fetch as I have good energy levels that I need to expend. I have previously lived with another dog where I needed to be dominant, so would probably be better housed as the only dog or possibly a female. I am a well behaved lad who needs stimulation, plenty of love and tenderness plus cuddle breaks on my walks.
Simply all I crave is a second chance to shine and be valued in a new home for keeps this time. So if you’re looking for a worthwhile addition to your household with lovely lad who is seeking his permanent place, just call and ask for Sheldon, I’ll be waiting, I promise! Situated South East England, Hertfordshire.

Hiya, my name is Terry and whilst I look a bit sad in this photo, it’s only because I am in need of a home. You will soon find out that I am an affectionate and happy dog who loves my walks, people and likes to make friends after a good sniff with all other canines that come my way. I was found as a stray, but my behaviour shows I was once a loved dog who is ready to love again.
I am an obedient boy and a clean lad who is house-trained, vaccinated and micro-chipped. I seem not to show any behavioral issues and am instead, alert, responsive and energetic with a big
heart. I am very gentle, patient and full of wisdom happy to watch the world pass by and participate with my mates when invited.
Despite my maturity, an energetic trot will be shared together, so if you choose me, you won’t be disappointed as all I want is another chance to find happiness for good; situated South East England, Herts.

Oakie and Macintosh – 5 month old male and female Collie cross Labradors
Hello, we’re Oakie and Macintosh who have found ourselves in need of new homes which we can’t understand as we’re all round good guys! Plus we are house-trained, vaccinated and so friendly. As much as we’d like to be, we don’t have to be housed together as we can be independent if necessary and for the right owner.
Being young we are naturally very playful and are probably in need of some training, but we are open to new ideas and have proved ourselves to be well behaved and obedient so far. I am not as boisterous as my sister Oakie, but am still full of fun. We love other dogs and people always displaying an affectionate greeting to those we know and to those that are new.

We are good to walk, keeping a cracking pace and also relish running off lead in the shelter’s enclosed area, chasing balls and frolicking with our toys.nAll in all we are a balanced and entertaining duo who are looking for owners who can provide stimulation and of course lots of love; situated South East bEngland, Herts.
