Brandy – 2 year old female American Bulldog

Brandy is a 2 year old American bulldog female who has not had the best start in life. She was seized by police at a few months of age accused of being an illegal pit bull type. She was held in secluded kennels for 18 months before the courts declared her to be a legal breed and ordered her to be returned home. Sadly her owner could no longer have dogs at his property and Brandy came into our care.

Despite the length of time Brandy spent in kennels her temperament is fantastic. She is a very loving playful girl who is making up for her lost puppy hood in kennels. She is fantastic with people and children although we would be looking for a home with children in school full time, ideally teenagers.

Brandy walks brilliantly on a lead and does not pull. She is very eager to please and has a lot of energy. Brandy would make a fantastic agility dog to someone willing to train her in the sport.

Brandy is not phased by other dogs and loves to play with them. However due to her bouncy nature we feel she would be happiest in a home as an only dog but one in which she could regularly play with suitable dog. We have not cat tested Brandy and would be looking for a home with no other animals.

Brandy would need home a home with a large enclosed garden with at least 6 foot fencing. Due to the time she has spent in kennels she will need to be treated as if she is a puppy. She will need house training and to be introduced slowly to everyday things such as traffic and towns etc. She will need someone at home for most of the day to help her quickly become the fantastic loving family dog we know she will be. Brandy does jump up and still mouths although very gently and these will need to continue to be worked with.

Brandy is vaccinated and will be micro-chipped. She is not spayed at present but this will need to be done when the time is right. This is term of the adoption agreement and will be followed up!

Brandy is currently in west sussex and all potential owners will be expected to travel to meet her. All homes will be homechecked and an adoption fee will be required. For more information on Brandy or to register an interest please email mail@dangerousdogsact.co.uk

Despite the length of time Karma spent in kennels her temperament is fantastic. She is a very loving girl who LOVES to have a tummy rubbed. She is fantastic with people and children although we would be looking for a home with children in school full time.

Karma walks brilliantly on a lead and does not pull. She is very eager to please and as such is quick to learn. She sits on command and we except her to pick up more training very easily. Karma would make a fantastic obedience dog and quite probably a PAT dog due to her calm loving nature.

Karma is not phased by other dogs but is very much a people dog and would be happiest in a home with no other dogs so she can be sure to get all the tummy rubs going! We have not cat tested Karma and would be looking for a home with no other animals.

Karma would need home a home with a large enclosed garden with at least 6 foot fencing. Due to the time she has spent in kennels she will need to be treated as if she is a puppy. She will need house training and to be introduced slowly to everyday things such as traffic and towns etc. She will need someone at home for most of the day to help her quickly become the fantastic loving family dog we know she will be.

Jackson – 5 month old male Cross-Breed

Jackson is a 5 month old pup who came into our care at 14 weeks of age. Jackson has not had the best start in life and spent the first 14 weeks of his life held in police kennels before being handed to us for rehoming along with his siblings. Jackson and his litter mates were thought to be American Bulldog cross breeds and while the rest of the litter fit that idea, Jackson does not! He is very small and unlikely to be much bigger than a Staffordshire Bull Terrier but does not have the build of a Staffie. In short, he is a cross breed!

jackson

Jackson is crate trained and reasonably clean in the house. He is lead trained however due to his background he is still learning not to bounce around on the end of a lead in excitement! Jackson is good with people and dogs but requires ongoing socialisation with dogs. We would prefer a dog free home for him where full attention could be on Jackson. He is child friendly however we feel he would prefer a quieter home with older children, ideally teenagers.

Jackson has taken time to understand the joys of human company and needs a home where his main “person” will be at home with him for most of the day in order to establish a good bond. Once that bond is established Jackson becomes an attentive loving pup who will do well at obedience or even agility. He is not used to cats or small furries.

Jackson is fully vaccinated, including Kennel cough and is micro chipped. He must be neutered at 6 months of age and this will be checked. He must attend training classes as part of the adoption agreement. All homes will be homechecked and an adoption fee required. He is currently in the Sussex and we would prefer a home in the south. For more information or a prehome form please email bullbreedcentral@aol.com

Daisy – 15 week old female American Bulldog

Daisy is 15 week old American bulldog cross who came into our care via the police. Along with her brother and sister she spent her first 14 weeks in kennels but is now able to be rehomed. While in kennels care has been taken to socialise with dogs people and children and Daisy loves human and canine company. Daisy has been very ill and is very underweight at the moment. Although now on the mend she is not ready for homing immediately. Any potential home must be willing to wait for her.

daisy

Daisy is fully vaccinated including Kennel Cough. She is wormed, flea treated and will be mircochipped prior to rehoming. Daisy MUST be neutered when old enough and this will be checked to ensure it has been carried out.

The right home for Daisy would be a family with someone at home most of the day. While good with children due to her boisterous nature, we would prefer a home with children in full time school. Homes must be bull breed or large breed experienced and must have a secure 6 foot fenced garden. We do not rehome bull breeds to homes with another dog of the same sex but Daisy would probably enjoy the company of a neutered male dog. Potential owners must attend training classes with Daisy.

Daisy is being toilet trained and will start lead training shortly. While these will be worked on as with any new puppy her new owners will have to continue with training. Daisy is currently in foster care in Sussex and preference will be given to homes in the south. All homes will be homechecked and a donation will be asked for. If wishing to offer Daisy a home please email bullbreedcentral@aol.com for a pre home form.

Stewie – 14 week old male American Bulldog

Stewie is a young American Bulldog male thought to be around 14 weeks of age. His previous owners had brought him on impulse before realising the commitment of owning a young puppy and so Stewie came into the care of EDDR where he is now looking for his new home.

Currently in foster care in Sussex, Stewie has shown himself to be a fantastic all round pup. He plays well with the resident dogs and would love a home with an older bitch to help keep him out of trouble! He is crate trained and house-trained. He can be left for short periods and will settle happily until you return.

He is good with children however as he is expected to grow to be a big dog we would prefer a home with children over 8 who can handle a bouncy large puppy! He is responding well to training and knows the basic commands.

Stewie will need a home with a reasonable sized garden with at least 6 foot fencing. He would need someone at home most of the time to keep him busy and out of trouble! He is not cat tested but we think he is most likely to chase them so a home without cats may be best. Stewie will grow to be a large dog likely to weigh at least 100lbs. We are ideally looking for someone with experience of American Bulldogs or other large breeds.

Potential homes MUST have researched the breed. Stewie will be vaccinated, chipped, wormed and flea treated prior to rehoming. It is a condition of our rehoming agreement that Stewie must be neutered when old enough and must attend training classes.

Stewie has the potential to become a fantastic dog and a real ambassador for his breed. If you feel you are the right home for him please contact EDDR by emailing Bullbreedcentral@aol.com for a pre home form.

Sophie – 2 year old female American Bulldog cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Sophie is a 2 year old female American Bulldog cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Over a year ago, at the tender age of just five weeks old, Sophie and her littermates were handed over to rescue. All five of the litter went into foster care, had vet checks, vaccinations and micro-chipped. Soon they were ready for new homes. Sophie attended puppy training classes and passed her KC Good Citizen Bronze.

Sophie found the perfect home but has since come back to rescue as her owner has been diagnosed with a medical condition and will need treatment for an unknown period of time, leaving her unable to care for Sophie anymore.

Sophie is good on lead and will walk with you for miles if you want too, equally she’s happy to sit by your side in front of the TV. Sophie does have huge potential for agility or obedience. She is a motivated and loves to have fun – doing anything for a treat. She is always waiting for you to give her something to do and with the right training we’re convinced she is a star in the making. Sophie isn’t used to living with cats.

Despite her breeding she is not a big dog. She is under knee height with a Labrador-like build. She doesn’t have the muscular build of a bull breed, simply the colour and head shape, though her head is small.

Sophie is playful with other dogs and enjoys the interaction, she recently had a great time playing with the rescue dogs at the behavioural centre with Dr. Roger Mugford.

Currently in a foster home under the care of EDDR, Sophie will make a fantastic companion. All she’s missing is a forever home – can you help her find the happy ending?
