Ollie – 8 year old male Labrador cross

Ollie (ref no 187) is an 8 year old Labrador cross who arrived at the shelter in May when his previous owner had to move into no pet accommodation due to ill health. Ollie doesn’t deserve to be back here at his age. He’s a lovely boy who is very friendly and just needs a quiet home in his twilight years.

He’s used to an easy life and loves his food so his weight needs to be watched. Ollie likes lots of attention. He is looking for an adult only household because he is not used to children at all as he’s never mixed with them. He would be best suited as the only pet in the home.

Rooney – 2 year old male Dalmatian Cross Labrador

Rooney (ref no 148) is a 2 year old Dalmatian cross Labrador male who arrived at the shelter in April as his previous owner wasn’t coping. Rooney is DEAF. He is extremely energetic and bouncy and easily frustrated so will be a project for someone who has plenty of time. Rooney has a bad mouthing habit which will need correcting. He works well for food and hand signals but gets very excitable over toys. Strong chase instinct.

Rooney is powerful and mouths hard. Children need to be extremely robust and not over excite him. He is okay with most dogs but would be best suited in a cat free home. Due to Rooney’s deafness and boisterous nature, we recommend having had a large bouncy or deaf dog before.
