Willow - 2 year old male Jack Russell Terrier

Willow is a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier who came into the shelter in December 2007. He needs sensitive handling as he is a bit defensive and may have been treated too roughly in the past. He is a typical Terrier – bright and active, likes life on his terms and can be reactive.

Willow is a dominant character so needs rules and a leader. He can be rehomed with children 16 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the household. Terrier experience is essential for new owners.

Woody - 1 year old male Border Collie

Woody is a 1 year old Border Collie who came into the shelter in December 2007. He is a bright and active dog who will require plenty of time and stimulation to keep him happy. He is full of potential but will need further training and handling.

He gets easily frustrated so needs a leader who can take the load off and take all the responsibility. He can be rehomed with children 8 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the household. Collie type experience would benefit new owners.

Dillon - 8 year old male Lurcher

Dillon is an 8 year old Lurcher who came into the shelter in December 2007. He is a lovely, calm dog who is excellent to walk and handle. He enjoys being with you and will make a fabulous companion.

Dillon is a true Lurcher and will steal food from anywhere! He needs calm home, he can be rehomed with children 10 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the household.

Bella - 2 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Bella is a 2 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross who came into the shelter in October 2007. She is a real people dog and enjoys a cuddle. She is responsive to food but can be demanding and barks for attention.

Bella is quite strong on the lead so could do with more training. She would love an active home, she can be rehomed with children 8 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the household. Breed experience would be recommended for new owners.

Rudy - 3 year old male American Bulldog

Rudy is a 3 year old American Bulldog male who came into the shelter in October 2007. He is a handsome boy with a huge presence. He is immensely strong and determined to get where he wants to be. He needs experienced handling and some further training, Rudy is motivated by food and toys which may help overcome his stubborn streak.

He can be rehomed with children 10 years +, he is good with most dogs and may live with a robust dog of a similar size, but not cats. Experience of giant or large breeds is recommended for potential new owners.

Bruno - 3 year old male Labrador Cross

Bruno is a 3 year old Labrador cross male who came into the shelter in September 2007. Bruno is a handsome dog who can be unsure in new situations so needs a confident owner to lead him. He is very strong on the lead and could do with more training and socialising, especially with other dogs.

Ethel - 7 year old female cross-breed

Ethel is a 7 year old small cross-breed female who came into the shelter in September 2007. She was isolated from life before coming here so needs a quiet home where she can get used to things slowly. She is really sweet but can be fearful so wants an understanding and calm owner who will be kind and patient. No harsh handling.

Build up trust in house and garden before taking for walks – she will not cope. He can be rehomed with children 16 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the household. She is probably not house-trained and he needs working with to allow him to be left on his own. Nervous dog experience would be recommended for potential new owners.

Ozzie

Ozzie is a 2 year old German Shepherd male, he cane into the shelter in February 2008. He is a very relaxed and obedient dog who has had some training. He is quite easy going but can be stubborn and likes to sniff every blade of grass!

Ozzie needs a quieter, calm home where he will be able to relax and settle. Ozzie is epileptic, he can be rehomed with children 5 years +, he would be best suited as the only pet in the house-hold.

George - 8 month old male American Bulldog cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier

George is an 8 month old male American Bulldog cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier and he came into the shelter in February 2008. You need to be very tolerant to have a dog like George. He is so bouncy and unskilled with little concentration so will require patient handling and lots of time devoted to his needs. George is always happy and has the potential to be fabulous.

He can be rehomed with children 12 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the hosuehold. He is unskilled at interacting with other dogs, he needs to be socialised and he isn’t too good with cats. He cannot be left on his own as he chews and so this needs to be worked on. He needs help with house-training. His new owners will benefit from larger bull breed experience.

Harry - 5 year old male Terrier Cross

Harry is a 5 year old Terrier cross male and he was returned to the shelter in February 2008. He looks like a lamb but there it stops! He is very friendly and enjoys being sociable but has a bad jumping up and nipping habit which needs to be addressed.

Harry is a dominant character and learns quickly how to get attention and plays on it. He would be best suited in a home with active owners, he wouldn’t be suited for elderly owners. He can be rehomed with children 12 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the home. His owners would benefit from Terrier experience.
