Roxy - 5 year old female Rottweiler
Roxy is a 5 year old Rottweiler and she came into the shelter in February 2008. She is a very nice dog if handled calmly and confidently as she can be a little head shy. She is friendly and playful and will be extremely loyal in a home.
Roxy is very affectionate and will suit a calm, experienced owner who will give her time. She can be rehomed with children 10 years +. She is good with calm dogs and should be okay to live with a confident cat who is used to dogs. Her new owners will need to have Guard breed experience.

Bobby is a 7 year old German Shepherd cross male and he came into the shelter in February 2008. He is a lovely, easy going dog who is very people friendly. He responds well to training and wants to please.
Bobby is very playful and full of fun and will enjoy being a loyal family dog as long as it’s not too hectic for him. He can be rehomed with children 8 years +, he is good with dogs and may be able to live with a confident cat who is used to dogs if they are introduced carefully.

Cindy is a 5 year old English Springer Spaniel cross female who was returned to the shelter in February 2008. She appears to be sweet and submissive but she can be nervy with a tendency to be defensive when over-handled. She needs calm consistent handling as she can be highly active and likes to hunt. Lots of exercise and a busy lifestyle would suit her best.
She lacks confidence. She would be best suited to a home with active owners, she can be rehomed with children 12 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the household. Her new owners would benefit from experience with Spaniels.

Nobby is a 4 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who came into the shelter in September 2007. Nobby is a real character. He is very strong willed and will need an assertive owner to match him.
He walks well on the lead and is generally good to handle. Nobby can be quite noisy for attention and gets very excitable/possessive over tug toys. He needs calm home, he can be rehomed with children 12 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the household. His owners will benefit from experience owning Terriers.

Buster is a 4 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross who cane into the shelter in September 2007. Buster is a powerful dog who is not for the weak willed! He needs calm and assertive handling and more training and time put into his education.
Buster is very playful and friendly with those he knows. He is easily excited and can be extremely boisterous. He can be rehomed with children 12 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the household. He is not good left on his own and so this needs to be worked on. His new owners will benefit from experience owning Terriers.

Daisy is a 3 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross who came into the shelter in August 2007. Daisy is a lovely dog who desperately needs someone with time to devote to her. She never forgets someone she’s close to and will be a wonderfully loyal companion.

He can be quite headstrong and needs an assertive owner who will give him guidance. Marley loves to play and can get a bit over excited so needs calm handling and a kind attitude.
He can be rehomed with children 8 years + but would be best suited as the only pet in the household. His new owners would benefit from having experience owning Terriers.

Kenco is a 1 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross male who came into the shelter in October 2007 and so has been waiting patiently for a new home to call his own for almost 6 months now! Kenco is desperate to find a friend he can trust and be loyal to. He is desperately insecure and has taken a while to accept new people.
He still needs lots of socialisation and bringing on slowly. Kenco needs very gentle, slow and calm handling plus patience, he prefers ladies as he’s afraid of most men.
He can be rehomed with children 12 years + and would prefer to be the only pet in the household. He is a nervous little lad and so is looking for experienced owners.

Jake is a 5 year old Jack Russell cross male who came into the shelter in February 2008. Jake has been passed around a lot and needs some stability and structure to his life. He is active and friendly but can be easily bored and becomes noisy.
He would enjoy an active life with people who will give him time to settle and will take things slowly. He can be rehomed with children 10 years + but cannot be rehomed with other animals. He needs new owners with experience in owning Terriers.

Zimba is a 3 year old male German Shepherd who came to the shelter in July as he was too strong for his previous owners. He appears calm and easy going but that masks a sensitive dog who likes to trust you before he relaxes and who doesn’t like being crowded or over-handled.
Zimba is quite unsettled and insecure so would love some stability and routine, he can go with children 10 years + but no other animals. He can be left for three hours - may bark at first.
