Blue – 5 year old male Yorkshire Terrier

Blue is a 5 year old male Yorkshire Terrier who has been neutered and vaccinated. Blue is a complicated little fellow, at only 3 kg he tends to suffer from little dog syndrome. He is good with other dogs, but is a work in progress with cats. The foster carers children are a little nervous of him because he can be a little unpredictable. He is very protective of his foster carer and loves her lots. He has led a privileged life so far and would benefit from learning some doggy manners, he has a tendency to bite without warning. He is a fit active boy with a very playful nature. He is in fostercare in Leicestershire with the Yorkshire Terrier and Toy Breed Rescue and adoption forms can be submitted via: . http://yorkie-rescue.friendhood.net/

Ollie – 17 month old male Yorkshire Terrier

Ollie is a 17 month old male Yorkshire Terrier. He has been neutered and is awaiting his second vaccination. Ollie came into the rescue recently and had been born with a deformed front leg. This has since been removed and Ollie is coping remarkably well without it. He is a lovely dog, good with other dogs and cats as long as they are gentle. Ollie is just learning to play and loves chasing a ball (he hasn’t quite mastered the art of picking it up and playing fetch yet though). Ollie is looking for a home where he has a gentle dog for company or someone who is home all day with lots of love to give. He is great with gentle children but would be scared of boisterous ones. He is in fostercare in Hull with the Yorkshire Terrier and Toy Breed Rescue and adoption forms can be submitted via: . http://yorkie-rescue.friendhood.net/

Robbie – 3 year old male Yorkshire Terrier

Robbie is a fantastic 3 year old male Yorkshire Terrier who is mircochipped, neutered and vaccinated. He is great with cats, children and other dogs. Robbie needs a new home because his beloved owner has recently passed away & relatives are not able to care for him the way he has been used to. Robbie is a happy and friendly little dog who loves company and enjoys exercise. He is currently based in Hull.

He would be best rehomed where some one is present throughout the day although he can be left on his own for a few hours. He would be a great companion for an older person or someone who lives alone.

Ollie – 4 year old male Yorkshire Terrier

Ollie is a 4 year old male Yorkshire Terrier. He is neutered, vaccinated, wormed and mircochipped. He is fine with other dogs and seems uninterested with cats. He can live with sensible older children. Poor Ollie was returned to what only can be described as a ‘puppy farmer’ when his previous owner died. He was then ‘rescued’ by the lady who handed Ollie in to our care. She originally went to get a small female to keep her other really sweet little female comapnay after she lost her companion, but as soon as she saw Ollie she just could not leave him. He was covered in his own urine & poo, bad bald patches on him, leathery tail & ears. Very very under weight as well. She felt he needed to be got out that day. Ollie is based in Lincolnshire.

She has had him for about 3 weeks & he has improved 100%. He is a very sweet little man, very happy go lucky & appeared to be good natured with the other dogs. He did not appear to like being asked to do something when he did not feel like doing it, but since being with his foster carer & also being neutered he has improved 98%. He is a very well adjusted lad now, walks very well on his harness & does not pull. Happy to go past other dogs/people/bicycles etc again with no problem. He is now fully house trained & sleeps well at night. He has had a hair cut since these pictures, but is just as hansome. He would benefit a family with sensible older children who can have a play with a ball, long walks etc.

Peggy Sue – 10 year old female Yorkshire Terrier

Peggy Sue is a 10 year old female Yorkshire Terrier who is currently in foster care in Hull. Peggy Sue is an active oldie who is very gentle, she loves to be sat near you having a snuggle. She was fantastic yesterday when we went to the vets, very well behaved. Her vaccination records state her d.o.b as 11/99, so she is only just 10. My friend came down today and Peggy Sue jumped straight onto her knee and lay there the whole time! Everyone who meets her loves her.

Peggy Sue is about 26cm high, she doesn’t like the tape measure so I’m not going to spook her! Peggy Sue is a very calm dog, she loves being sat next to you or on your knee. She is also very gentle and will make someone a fantastic companion.

Peggy Sue will take a walk with you if you would like the company but she does not ‘ask’ for a walk every day, she would be great for someone who had mobility issues and could not get out every day but still wanted the company. She does not pull on the lead, so again would suit anyone who was a little unsteady.

Peggy Sue has a big afraid little dog bark!! She only barks when someone is at the door, so is protecting you, however she will stop easily when told, and greets anyone at the door with a bit tail wag and a fuss. She also barks at the cat which comes in my garden (he tries to get into the Guinea Pigs cage and kill them – he’s already got in once) Max is scared of the cat (it attacked him) but Peggy Sue has seen him off. My Guinea Pigs are eternally greatfull to her but it is a consideration if you are a cat owner. I’m allergic to cats so cannot test what she would be like with them in the house…sorry. These are the only times she barks though so she is great!

Peggy Sue has been great with my children, she was a little nervous of them at first but once she realized they would not hurt her they have been her best friends! I would say she would be great with sensible older children/visiting grandchildren. Apart from the first day nerves (completely normal) she has had no accidents and simply goes to the back door to be let out when she needs to go. She is a very ‘easy to please’ dog and is going to make her new forever family very happy!

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of Peggy Sue is required to complete an adoption form after reading all the adoption rules & procedures via the rescues website.

Tessa – 8 year old female Yorkshire Terrier

Tessa is an 8 year old female Yorkshire Terrier who has been handed in as her owners bought her and owned her here in England but on their return to Australia left her with a friend/neighbour to look after. She is currently based in Devon.

Unfortunately the lifestyle of large horses and much larger dogs has meant that Tessa has become nervous of everything. It was not the right home for her and the new owners have been very sensible and relaised that. Their teenage daughter is very upset though that Tessa has had to come in to rescue. But I have assured the family that she will be well loved and we will find a great new home for her. She has had extensive dental work done now. She is nervous around dogs but is fine with cats. She loves children but they will need to be 10 or over.

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of Tessa is required to complete an adoption form after reading all the adoption rules & procedures via the rescues website.
