Beanie – 5 month old male Border Collie
Meet Beanie, a 5 month old Border Collie boy who is looking for after being found wandering, no one claimed him so he is up for homing. He really needs a working home – agility, flyball, obedience. He has a great nature but is a very over the top little Collie.
Daisy – 2 year old female Lurcher
This is Daisy, she is a 2 year old female Lurcher who would love a wonderful active home. She has not had the best start in life and does carry alot of war wounds on her body – but she is lovely, kind and wonderful to have around.

Fenn – 2 year old male Border Collie
Fenn is a rather typical young Border Collie who is 2 years old. He is looking for a new forever home due to a change in personal circumstances. Fenn is now no longer getting the time, exercise or attention that he needs. Fenn knows the basics, but needs more training and time given to him. He is exciteable around other dogs and so the current owner feels he would probably be better in a home without other dogs, although we think he would probably be OK with a female.
Fenn loves his runs in the woods and has a passion for fetching tennis balls. He travels very well in the car, is well behaved indoors, never chews and can be left alone. Current owner thinks he needs a home without young children. He can initially be a bit shy of strangers. At night he currently sleeps in the kitchen. Fen is microchipped, vaccinated and castrated.
Fenn needs a new home urgently as his current owner is moving abroad soon and cannot take him.
Jessie – 1 year old female Border Collie
Jessie is a lovely 1 year old female Border Collie. Her previous owners have had her since a pup (she is now 1 year old) but due to personal circumstances they cannot keep her. Jessie has an excellent temperment, is great with kids, cats, horses and has no ‘if’s or but’s’ about her. The family are very sad but have asked us to find a loving home for her. Jessie is vaccinated, and will be chipped to Valgrays.
Daisy – 15 month old female Lurcher
Daisy is a beautiful brindle Lurcher girl of about 1 year to 15 months. She was picked up as a stray and has done her 7 days and was due for put to sleep. Lucky for Daisy that Val was ‘passing’ and couldn’t let her be taken for put to sleep, and so here she is. So far she has been a real sweetie, nice with other dogs, kids and people. She travelled well in the van and is happy in her kennel. She has had a hard short life. She has war wounds in her ears ( a split in each) a scar on front pastern leg, and is a bit underweight. Daisy has now been wormed, bathed and chipped. Now come on we know she is no Collie … but Val had to save her and give her a chance. Can you back up Val’s courage to stop her being put to sleep by offering her a loving new forever home?
Kennie – 1-2 year old male German Shepherd Cross Collie
Kennie is a stunning German Shepherd cross Border Collie, who is approximately 1 or 2 years old. He has lived in a house that was total chaos, with other dogs, rabbits, children and screaming adults on the go all day and because of this he had really closed down and became resigned to his standard of life.
He was in at a local pound and has started to gain his confidence and they could put a lead on him. He has shown no aggression at any time, in fact he is a big softie, if just a bit shy. He knows sit and he just loves his tennis balls. He was originally picked up as a stray, but then the council found out his previous address and contacted them, but then realised that the lady in the house has an order on her banning owning dogs and her son is having a pleasant time in prison. So basically Kennie had his 7 days and has been brought down to us to rehome. He is a big gorgeous boy who really does deserve a kind loving home. We cannot fault him one bit. Kennie could possibly make a nice obedience dog – he has a very nice ‘lifty’ front leg action, which could make for very attractive heelwork. More updates will be added…..
This is what the pound said about Kenny. I have spent time with him at the pound getting his confidence and I can get a lead on him now. He has shown no aggression at any time, he just backs away and hides in the corner when he can’t cope. I have got to the stage where I can go into the kennel and tickle him and fuss him. However, he does not respond much to this, he just sits there and lets me carry on, although I can see that he is beginning to like it. I suspect that he has never had this kind of love and attention, so does not know what it is all about. As I said he has shown no aggression and I have spent a fair bit of time with him, moving him from kennel to kennel so that we can clean up after him. He has been fine with the other dogs in the pound over the last week.

Zeta is a stunning looking dark blue merle Border Collie who is 1 years old. She has a wonderful nature, so far we cannot fault her. Zeta has no hangups whatsoever. She is a very busy little girl, so would be a great working prospect for agility or obedience etc. She seems naturally obedient too!!! Great with Kids, other dogs, travels well .. Wow what an opportunity – don’t miss Zeta for your next working dog!!!!
Bowie – 1 year old female Border Collie
Bowie is a lovely, tiny, petite, little girl Border Collie whose aim in life is to cuddle you all the time! Mind you she is still very much on the go and should make a super agility prospect, might even measure medium height. Bowie is responsive and very eager to please. So far she shows a superb nature with no malice in her little gorgeous body at all.
Charlie – 6 year old male German Shepherd
Charlie is a 6 year old German Shepherd and hsould be the ‘ambassador’ of dogs. He is just a big softie. Charlie is looking for a new forever home through no fault of his own. His current owner loves him so much, but sadly is very ill and now cannot give Charlie the care and exercise he needs. Charlie originally came from a farm which was being sold in 2006 when he was under 4 years old. He is such a super boy, please consider him for your home and family. He gets on well with other dogs and loves to play with them. He is great with existing grandchildren from ages of 2 up to 5 years old. Charlie is a big softie and just wants love and to be with you. Charlie is also a fan of ‘The Bill’ and ’sings’ along to the theme tune. Charlie is castrated, vaccinated, chipped, is fine with other dogs, great with kids, travels well and is housetrained. Where else could you find such a perfect dog?
Charlie will be staying with his current owner until we find him a new forever home. Charlie can be viewed by strict appointment in Slough. Please phone Val today to offer this boy the same love he has experienced in his current home.
17Mar2009 | Valgrays Border Collie Rescue Surrey | READ MOREDeeDee – 2 year old female Border Collie
DeeDee is a 2 year old Border Collie has come into us for much needed help. She was collected by the Dog Warden and was completely covered in diesel (was this accidental or was there a far more sinister/unthinkable reason for this) and has been in council pound for a while, we heard about her plight and offered to take her here. DeeDee is a very submissive type, who has obviously had alot of trauma in her short life.

She hasn’t been with us long, but we believe she has a very sweet nature, is bewildered at her life, but just needs to know people will love her and not hurt her from now on as you can see from the photo she has an eye injury. She was collected with other dogs who had various old injuries on them (who are also safe in their own breed rescues) – what sort of world are we living in!
DeeDee’s eye injury (checked by vet) is believed to have been from a possible trauma (kick maybe) some time ago! The vets report states ‘left eye is enopthalmus, permanent third eyelid prolapse and completely blue corenea, flu negative. The injury has settled and vet does not believe she is in pain, but we are considering having the eye removed to for long term cosmetic and health reasons (to save any future infection – which is a possibility). This is obviously a hugely expensive operation.
So, not only is DeeDee up for rehoming, but we also need funding to help with this possible operation. If you would like to help or would like more information please visit our website for more details: www.valgraysbcrescue.webs.com
