Barney – 14 month old male Labrador Cross
Barney is a lovely 14 month old Labrador cross with possibly Harrier Hound/Beagle. He has come to us due to his owners moving where dogs aren’t allowed. He is good with dogs (little and large) has lived with children from 6 years up but is no good around cats! Timid at first but soon settled in.
Dan – 4-9 year old male Collie
Meet Dan the Collie. Dan has spent 5 weeks in a kennels due to being left over from a crime. The police bought him into us on the 22.10.10. The vet reckons he is between 9 and 12 years old although acts more like 4. He is friendly with people and other dogs but he has food issues where he guards from both dogs and people. There is no known history on Dan and because of his food issue he will have to be fed away from children. We think that where ever he has lived he has been an outside dog as he prefers to stay out than in. Unsure of cats and other animals.

Fiona – 5-6 year old female Greyhound
Fiona is a 5/6 year old greyhound. She is an ex racer and went to a home but her owner became ill. She is nervous of new people but soon comes round. A diamond of a dog. Great if not better with other dogs.

Daisy – 4 year old female Great Dane
Daisy is a 4 year old Great Dane. She came to us as her owner no longer had the time to care for her. She is good with dogs, cats, other animals, children and people. A true gentle giant.
Ted – 7 month old male German Shepherd
Ted is a long coated 7month old German Shepherd. He came into us as his owner is moving where he isn’t allowed dogs. He is ok with dogs although submissive nervous due to lack of socialisation. Ted hasn’t lived with a cat but has been used to a visiting baby. A little nervous at first but as soon as you sit down with him he’s on your lap having a cuddle.
Sam – 4 year old male Lurcher cross Saluki
Lovely Sam is a 4 year old male Lurcher cross Saluki and was dumped at a vets with a broken leg. The injury was older than what was first said so the leg couldn’t heal properly therefore it was useless. Sams front leg was amputated last week so is resting and recovering at the sanctuary. He will be available for viewing and rehoming when he gets the all clear from the vets. A very sweet boy loves people, children, dogs, cats and doesn’t seem fussed by our farm animals. He is just as lovely a dog with 3 legs.
Topsy – 8 week old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Whippet
Topsy is a 8 week old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross . Topsy came in as a stray believe it or not. She is around 8weeks now Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross , maybe with Whippet and/or terrier. She was first said to be blind but over the last couple of weeks she has begun to see as her eyes are developing more. Would prefer her to go with another dog. She may regain full sight or remain short sighted, only time will tell.
Bert – 13 year old male Cocker Spaniel
Bert is a 13 year old male Cocker Spaniel. Our ol’ mate Bert. Another stray, was in a bad way. Fur terribly matted and covered in all sorts. As you can see Bert is blind and does bump into everything bless him. Elderly cocker spaniel approx 13years. A very sweet old man who adores people and other dogs. Currently in a foster home getting extra TLC.
Freddie – 3 year old male Jack Russell Terrier
Freddie is a large 3 year old Jack Russell Terrier. Came in as his elderly owner found him to much. Is in with other dogs but at the moment doesn’t really pay much attention to them. He can be bossy as he had no training with his previous owner and was allowed to do what he wanted. He is naughty and cannot be left alone so he would need a home where someone has owned difficult dogs before and has the time to work with him. Not to go with cats or children.

Jake – 7 month old male English Springer Spaniel Cross
Jake is a 7 month English Springer Spaniel Cross. He was originally bought as a Jack Russell but its taken the owners 7months to realise he’s not and thats why he’s with us. Good with dogs, children, hasn’t lived with a cat. A typical Springer.
