Benji - young male Cross-Breed
Benji is a young cross-breed, possibly Labrador or Dalmatian cross. He is a stunning lad and gets on well with other dogs. He was due to be put to sleep in a pound in Ireland so we offered him a rescue space. I’m afraid we only have his pound picture at the moment. Benji is a very sweet soul who will need his new family to show him that life can be wonderful!

He is timid, underweight and confused, despite how he came to be here, Benji is still very, very loving, he jumps up for a cuddle (very gently) and will give lots of kisses.
He is great with other dogs, fantastic with children and may chase cats - he has been introduced to cats here and it’s evident he wants to get to them, but a check of the lead and a firm ‘no’ has stopped him from barking at cats, and he got very close to one cat without showing any aggression. He may be okay with a dog savy cat who will not swipe Benji for being over-interested.

Meet Isabella, she is a 3-4 year old neutered female cross-breed. This gorgeous little girl was surrendered to an irish pound and faced being put to sleep. She is good with other dogs, will chase cats but is great with children. She is a very loveable, licky, friendly girl who will bond quickly with whoever gives her a fuss!

She would suit an active home who will let her play her favourite game as much as she likes - football destroying!! She is fine to be left for short periods and is house-trained. Better picture of her on it’s way!

Chance is a 3-4 year old male Basset Hound cross and was surrendered to an Irish pound where he faced being put to sleep. He is neutered and has a lovely nature. He is good with other dogs but will chase cats. He is excellent with children.

Chance is a fantastic dog who will truly complete somones family, he loves nothing more than to curl up with you on the sofa and go to sleep! He’s also very fond of footballs! Chance is fine to be left for short periods and is house-trained. He is medium sized and his photo does him no justice, I will get a better one soon.

Dozer is a 2 year old Rottweiler cross Mastiff male. He is good with other dogs, good with children and has lived with cats. He is a bouncy, friendly boy and will make any home complete. Because of Dozers ‘bounce’ he will be homed with children aged 10+ only.

He is vaccinated and soon to be neutered. He can be slightly dominant of other dogs but we feel this will stop once he has been neutered. We would like for Dozer’s new home to attend training classes with him to encourage socialisation and to discourage his lead-pulling whilst on walks. He is a very happy dog and is only in rescue due to the owners pregnancy.

Bobby is only 1 year old small cross-breed but he has had a very horrid start in life! His first owners husband use to kick him and throw him around the room. Thisill treatment has taken it’s toll on little Bobby, he is very nervous of people he doesn’t know to the point where he will run and hide if approached.

Because of his long coat he will need grooming daily, this proves to be a challenge. He is fine having his face and body brushed, but his belly and back end werea bit matted when he arrived, when we tried grooming those areas he turns to bite, we switched to scissors so the grooming didn’t hurt, but he still reacted in the same way.
He will need to be muzzled whilst being groomed until he learns to trust you. He is not great with other dogs, so we would
like his new home to take Bobby to training classes to help with his socialisation. He will chase cats. Although he is okay with children, due tohis very timid nature Bobby will only be homed with children 10+ who will understand that he has had a very bad start and it will take time beforehe trusts them.
Once Bobby realises he is not going to be hurt, he is a very loving dog, he gives kisses and will sit quietly on your lap for a
fuss. He will need a very understanding home which will take things slowly with him and not be put off by his initial mistrust.
Bungle - 5 year old male Patterdale Terrier
Sweet Bungle is a Patterdale Terrier male aged approximately 5 years old. He has a very sweet nature and is good with children, other dogs but will chase cats. He is neutered and vaccinated. Bungle is an adorable fella who will ensure his new family never have a dull moment! He will need a good size garden to blow off some steam. He would love to have children in the home who will play with him!

Connie - 6 year old female Border Collie
Connie is a a gorgeous 6 year old Border Collie girl who was due to be put to sleep in a pound! She can be a bit grumbly with other dogs so would prefer to be an only dog, or may live happily with a very laid back, older male. She will chase cats and would probably prefer a home without young children. She is a wonderfully natured girl who adores attention! She will play fetch all day given the chance.

Milo - 10 month old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross
Milo is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross male aged approximately 10 months old, he is such a gorgeous boy and the photo really does him no justice! He is fantastic with other dogs - playful but not too bouncy. Good with cats as long as they don’t swipe him and he may chase them in they run, but a calm, confident cat would be fine.

Superb with children, initially bouncy he soon calms down, he loves playing with them! Milo was rescued from death row in a pound, he was due to be put to sleep. He has the most loving nature you could wish for. He walks well on a lead and within 2 minuites he will walk to heel on a loose lead!
He will also sit on command. We would like for Milo’s new home to further his training and continue to socialise him with other dogs - he SO deserves this second chance.
18Apr2008 | Wiltshire Animal Rescue and Sanctuary | READ MORESheba - 8 month old female Cross-Breed
Sheba is an 8 month old medium sized cross-breed, she is a stunning girl who will simply be her new owners pride and joy! Sheba is neutered and vaccinated. No-one is quite sure what her breed is - some say German Shepherd cross, some say Boxer cross Labrador, all we know is she is beautiful! She was rescued from a pound in Ireland and was very skinny, she is gaining weight nicely now and her character is shining through!

Sheba is good with cats, dogs and children but will only be homed with older children. She was picked up as a stray so her history is unknown, but it is thought she may have been straying for a while. She took some time getting use to the collar and being walked on a lead but she is doing brilliantly now and we hope she will continue to shine!
We would like Sheba’s new owner to take Sheba to training classes to further her basic commands and socialisation with other dogs/people. She can be nervous of silly things at times - I have before had to carry her past a speed limit sign, but on the whole she is a sound girl who just needs some stability in a permanant home. I can’t reccomend her highly enough, she really is a wonderful lady!
5Apr2008 | Wiltshire Animal Rescue and Sanctuary | READ MOREShiva - 5 year old female Beagle Cross
Meet Shiva, she is a Beagle cross aged 5 years 3 months. This adorable young lady is looking for a home through no fault of her own. The currently family just can’t give her the time, walks and attention she deserves. She has lived with children aged 3-14 and is very good with them, she is not use to small furries, lead walking or coming back when called when let off away from home.

She does like to be top dog, otherwise she is superb with other dogs. She has a bottomless supply of love to give everyone and anyone that wants some. Well mannered, affectionate and willing to please, she could be lead trained within a week! Given persistance and consistant training.
She has lived alongside Suki her littermate all her life. But while Suki has adapted to and enjoys playing with the new Jack Russell puppy the family have bought, Shiver is understandably jealous. She is vaccinated, chipped and speyed. She suffered with a hip joint that kept popping out when she was a puppy but has had no problem with it since she was 18 months old.
