Barkley – 4 year old male Akita

Meet 4 year old male Barkley who is a handsome Akita, a striking and happy-go-lucky boy looking for a new home after being found as a stray and taken to a pound. A vocal boy who likes attention, Barkley responded incredibly well to our assessor, who quickly found “walkies” to be a favourite word! A big fan of a really good tickle and a scratch, Barkley quickly relaxed in the company of our assessor and despite not being very interested in her treats, was keen to show off his knowledge of commands.

A master of “sit”, “stay” and “wait” Barkley proved himself to be responsive whilst on the lead, whilst initially pulling he enjoyed a god jog, followed by walking nicely to heel on the way back to the kennels. As a stray without history, Barkley is as yet untested with other animals, and will not be placed in a home with young children. Could you take Barkley into your heart and home? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
