Beethoven and Sandy – 12 and 13 year old male and female Labrador cross Lurchers
Meet Beethoven, a 12 year old Labrador cross Lurcher and his 13 year old mum, Sandy. These beautiful dogs, are looking for a new home as their previous owner has sadly died. They are in an Oldies Club foster home in Plymouth, Devon, waiting to be offered a permanent home together. Sandy is a very quiet, adorable dog, and she is polite and mild mannered. She is hard of hearing but responds well to hand signals.

She has slight discolouration of her eyes but this doesn’t affect her sight. In the past, she has had an operation on one of her ears and we have been told that, due to this, she is more prone to ear infections.
Beethoven is a nervous but very lovable dog; he will jump at the slightest sound but then settles immediately. He has a beautiful long haired coat which he adores having brushed. He is a very friendly, affectionate fellow who loves company.
Sandy and Beethoven love walks and walk well on the lead. Sandy gets very tired if the walk is longer than 1 hour though. They are both good off the lead and make friends quickly with other dogs. Sandy never ventures too far from you and is always looking round to see you are still there, whereas Beethoven is more daring and has been known to disappear into the distance, although he always returns after a short time!
Their foster carer tells us: Both Sandy and Beethoven are perfect house guests and are content to be left on their own for up to 5 hours. They love children of all ages and are extremely gentle with our two pet rabbits, but they do bark at and chase cats. They travel perfectly in the car.
They have been vet-checked since coming into Oldies Club care and are microchipped, vaccinated, and flea and worm treated. Sandy has been neutered and Beethoven soon will be. Beethoven will also be having a dental.
Can you offer this devoted mother and son a comfortable, loving home together?
